Love the look but was impossible to put together. None of the holes line up.

Safco Steel/Fiberboard Literature Sorter, 36 Sections, Black (SAF7121BL)

My husband is still downstairs trying to put this together where nothing lines up including the slits in the cardboard that don't line up with the slots in the frame for the shelves. He now has to take a blade to cut them so they will line up. All this for $200 and he isn't even finished yet.

Frustrating Purchase!

The holes did not line up properly and it was very difficult to put together. It looks good once we finally were able to make it work. The back got a little beat up in the process of trying to make everything fit together. Thankfully, once put together, the back doesn't show. I would probably invest in a more expensive version next time -

Thrilled to have papers organized

I really like these because they function as desired for organizing the masses of mail, bills and papers in the office. The assembly instructions aren't the best.

So disappointed. If the shelves were fiberboard like the back, it would have been what I was expecting. The shelves are just double layered cardboard. Definitely not worth the money. It was difficult to put together with the clips that barely stay in, they kept falling out as I was putting this together. Dont waste your money!

Terrible Do NOT BUY!

This is the worse designed item I have EVER put together. The slots are made of cardboard and are sagging and uneven and I havent even put any paper in. The slot "holders" will not stay in or secure so that makes it impossible to straighten the slots. If I had not spent HOURS putting it together I would return it.

Safeco Fiberboard Shelf Organizer

I wanted to give a 3 1/2 stars, but I can't do that. Here's why. It's not really fiberboard in my definition - it's just double folded cardboard; however, once it's put together the cardboard seems to be sturdy enough. Secondly, it's kind of a pain in the neck to put together. I'm hoping the cardboard and the shelf clips hold up over time. Based on the price of this and other organizers for my card stock; this has been the best purchase. I"ll order another one if it holds up over time.

Once assembled, I liked the organizer very much. I got it for my daughter, who is a teacher, to use as "mailboxes" in her 3rd grade classroom. It looks great and is sturdy. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the instructions for putting it together could have been clearer and better.

Great for Cost

Fairly easy to assemble. Will need to purchase brackets to install to wall. Handsome and made well enough to support medium volume of mail, etc. Does not come with labels or label holders. Used Avery removable file folder labels to label mailboxes with names--worked great. l

Safco Value Sorter Literature Organizer

What a great sturdy cabinet. Steel outside and chip board shelves. Much better than the other one I purchased from a different store. This cabinet will really help me get organized.

Organized me!

As a teacher this ended my paper nightmare. I could sort work for different classes for multiple days. Everything stayed in place including my sanity. Parts made of cardboard had me worried but the way its put together it's sturdy and should last me several years.

Accu-Stamp Ink Refills

I work in legal matters; my red "copy" stamp was all but depleted of ink. The red Accu-stamp ink refill works great! It's clean and easy to use. Saved me $$ because I didn't have to buy another stamp!

Great - once you get it together!

This product does a good job but the assembly could make one suicidal! I had the assistance of 2 men to assemble it. It took the 3 of us 4 hours to get it together. The instructions are just a series of poor quality photos. The little metal clips that are the shelf holders kept falling out until I figured out that they hooked UP in the slots, not down. Getting the black plastic strip on the front of the cardboard shelves is no easy task but it has to be done to add strength to the cardboard. I'm glad that I have the organizer but I'm frustrated by the ridiculously long assembly time. I paid $337.37 for the product. The guys that helped put it together charge $40+/hr for their time. Add to that the cost of my time and I could have had one made from real wood or MDF at a minimum for less money.

Looks great, seems cheap

I ordered this thinking it was a great deal. After it arrived I realized I was hoping for something sturdier. I am concerned that cardboard and plastic will not last long. It looks like wood but is like the metal on a storage shed only much thinner and looks it might dent easily. The front of the shelf does not provide enough room to label the outside edge with a label maker so I had to put the label on the top of the shelf as close to the edge as I could so papers will not cover up the label but I don't know how well that's going to work depending on the amount of and length of paper. Time will tell. The next time I purchase one of these I will read the details carefully and not solely rely on the picture because it really does look nice. I do think I will have to spend more money for a higher quality product. On the positive end, it was easy to assemble and will help me organize my personal and home business mail and papers until I can get them filed.

Product fulfills existing need

The assembled product looks as it did in the visual buying option; however I was very disappointed to find that the shelves inside the metal framework were corrugated cardboard. Regardless of how long the framework lasts, the cardboard shelving will loose its stability within a very short time. This product will not have a life expectancy of more than 2 years at most.

Difficult to Assemble

It's impossible to put this together by following the instructions. You need help from someone who has the patience to tinker with this type of thing. The inside parts are cardboard and there are plastic coverings that just slide on to the front to cover up the fact that it's cardboard shelving. Which, would be okay, if those little plastic covers would stay on when you are taking out your documents. When you go to take out documents, if you are not extremely careful, those plastic covers come right off and you have to keep puttint them back on. I suppose you could use some glue. Maybe I can try that.

You get what you pay for

About what I expected, functional but not the greatest. Easy to put together but not as rigid torsionally as I had hoped due the very thin gauge metal used. The cardboard inserts are adequate but you have to be VERY careful when assembling that you don't bend them and thus compromise their strength. Each slot can hold up to a ream of paper, but I doubt the rack could support the weight if every slot was full to capacity. If you happen to get a bend in the cardboard, the slot will sag from the weight.

We already had what I thought was the same product as this one, but apparently they changed the way it is made from the one we bought 2 years ago. All of the shelves are plain cardboard like the one we already had but the way the shelves are held in place is the worst design that I have ever seen. It took 2 of us, who have over 50 years of equipment construction experience between us, way to long to assemble this product and most of the shelves are still uneven. The unit we bought before did not use metal clips that keep falling out while you are trying to put it together. They had to be held in with double stick tape to keep them from falling out and are very hard to keep in place while you are trying to assemble it. The unit is still usable for what our needs are, but I would not purchase this product again and would not recommend that anyone else ever buy this product.

Disappointing quality

I am very disappointed with this product. The shelves are actually made of cardboard, the pegs to hold the cardboard are inadequate and if you want to move the sorter, they'll fall out. Putting it together was very frustrating as well. It would be wonderful if Safco would improve the quality especially considering the price of it.
