Nice looking desk, but.....

I loved the look of the desk from the minute I saw it on the Office Depot floor. I love the fact that it has two levels for writing and/or computer/laptop placement. The different heights work well for my height and the adjustable office chair I bought. Although the directions are precise and not complicated, and the very parts were clearly marked and packaged, the manufacturers estimate of how long it takes to put together are off. It took me hours and hours to put together and this is not my first rodeo with Sauder furniture and their screw and cam system. In addition, because this is machine manufactured furniture and because there are so many pre-drilled holes, screws and dowels, if even one hole is off the whole thing needs to be adjusted. This happened in several of the steps. I even had to sand down one edge so it would fit right. Also, I am always super careful with the drawer guide installation and even so, the drawer is not fitting into the guide properly. I unscrewed and redid the guides and screws and frame twice, but the drawer still does not fit right. Ridiculous!!! After I got it all together it looks great and is very solid (drawer excluded) except the bigger portion of the desk has a giant blop in the design of the laminate. Its supposed to look like a knot in the "wood", but it just looks like a blop of chocolate syrup. Very disappointed in the whole assembly experience mainly because this desk was not inexpensive compared to others so I don't feel like I got my money's worth.

This looks even nicer than its picture. I made a mistake in assembly and the company sent out another piece to replaced my botched one. I would order again from this company.

Desk is great exactly what I thought. Instructions made it super easy to put together. Took some time to put together but not super difficult. I would recommend desk.

Just what I was looking for

Very pleased. Super heavy and my husband (who isn't patient or handy) has a hard time putting this together. Still would buy again.

Very good looking L-Shaped Dest

The desk will be used for computer work and also paper crafting. There is enough table space for my wife to do a lot of her projects. This desk takes time to build and is not fun when you are missing a part. All of the hardware was provided but I did not receive the ""L""-Desk Back. I was able to complete the building and the desk back is against a wall. Great computer and working desk.

Love the desk but took about 4 hours to put together with all of the pieces and didn’t notice a scratch on top of the main desk until it was finished, although very sturdy and nice looking!

Good desk

Well I just finished set up and the desk looks good so far . Good amount of room and hasn't some cool features like a hidden drawer. I will say it wobbles a little and a few things didn't quite line up and the drawer doesn't slide in easy but other than that it's a good looking desk .

Great work desk

Bought it for a work station to build scale models and also hold my gaming stations on the right. Desk doesn't disappoint at all!

Good looking desk

Wood is particle board but it seems quite sturdy. Construction was a bit of a pain, but that's to be expected with any furniture really. Good looking desk, definitely happy with that. Spacious, lots of storage room. I like the cable management cubby as well. Delivery was a LOT faster than what was originally quoted, so definitely pleased there too. No real complaints about the desk.

SO Disappointed Assembly Instruction Manual not in box

I went from being SO excited about the arrival of my desk to being SO disappointed that the Instruction booklet for assembly was not inside the box. I then went to the internet, went on the Sauder website to see if I could download and print it, only to get a message they'll respond within the next business day. So I missed THE WHOLE WEEKEND to assemble the desk I wanted to have ready for Monday. Not good business practice! Sorry wouldn't by anything from Sauder again.

Nice little desk for small home office space

although the desk clearly looks like self assembly laminate material furniture, i have to say, Sauder did a nice job. The lines are clean and uncluttered, the wood look material, has a nice mat finish in a pleasant tone. The wood grain texture, looks surprisingly real, the metal parts are nicely finished. Packaging was terrific, the instructions were detailed and in english with added tips which made the assembly go smoothly. Over the years i have learned not to tighten the screws until all sides are assembled to allow for jiggling and shimmying everything into place. With this desk, the holes lined up so nicely, i never need to shimmy or wrestle anything into place. The desk is very stable, i think i spent about an hour or so on assembly.

I'd buy Sauder brand again

This desk took somewhere around three hours to fully construct. The quality of the wood is very high, and the room its set up in has the scent of fresh wood. However, this company's metalworker must've been off his game when making the bar that some of the legs mount to. There was an outreaching portion of the metal bar that was bent, and it required me using a wrench to straighten it out as to screw on the legs.

Terrific Desk and Easy to Assemble!!

If I was only rating the desk I would give it at least 4 stars. I would recommend this desk to anyone looking for a little more space for working and its quite good looking especially in my home office. I put it together in a couple of hours and love it! Unfortunately, Office Max and their customer servce was the worst experience I have had to date. I was promised calls back for late delivery and order problems from someone in their executive offices on 2 occassions and NEVER received a call. Shame on you Office Max! In an age where customer service is paramount you failed miserably. For those looking to buy this desk I suggest you buy it elsewhere. I saw it on a few different sites including Wayfair and I have always had a great experience with them.

It's not as tall as I thought

This desk is made very well. I love the overall look of it. My only complaint would be how short it is. I was expecting a taller desk (my fault, I should have looked at the height of it in the details) but it's not a deal breaker for me, I will have more wall space to hang pictures!!
