Easy to carry but a little heavy - but that's why it's so sturdy, solid, and stable, right?

[Rewarded Review] Solid, easy to adjust, sticky pad works

I own two of these now, one for a laptop, another for a small mixer. I was at-first concerned about how well the center adjustment clamp worked, but then realized there was a (partly) hidden adjustment screw behind the clamp handle. One minor adjustment there and all's been well since (including deciding to purchase another). The sticky-pad has remained appropriately tacky w/o leaving a residue on the bottom of my laptop and mixer, so I'm pleased with that, too!

[Rewarded Review] Works great with my 2015 MacBook Pro

This laptop stand is awesome! It is very sturdy and holds my 2015 MacBook Pro with room to spare. It even comes with a sticky pad to make sure that the laptop doesn't slide around. I feel very confident using this at a gig with my laptop. I also use it for work when I need to use more than one computer. I can set it up next to my desk and have a second laptop beside me. I would definitely recommend it.

I just got it but it seems to be sturdy.

Great for mini synths!

I bought this for my Korg Minilogue and although the synth sits on the back lip of the tray (I didn't allow for the tapered front of the Mini) it works incredibly well. The top swivels 360 degress which is handy, but importantly it's much stabler than a mic or music stand thanks to its thicker tubing and tight overlocking clamps. Could easily handle a small mixing desk, MPC, drum machine, perhaps even a full-size monosynth (just be aware that anything too weighty could tilt the tray and the back lip may need to be bent flat or cut off.. Finding the right stand for small synths is tricky as the traditional x-stands are generally too wide so need to be at their top adjustment level which is usually too high. Until something better comes along I fully recommend using a laptop stand such as this one.

[Rewarded Review] Great stand

I ordered this for home use to help me work from home in a standing position. This really did the trick. I have it extended all the way up. I'm 5'11 & it's the perfect height. The top is a little wobbly with no clear way to tighten it but it's really not a big deal. I place a 15 MacBook Pro on top. There is a lip on the bottom edge of the stand that will clearly stop the laptop from sliding down. The stand, however, comes with a silicon sticky pad that further secures the laptop. It holds the laptop so strongly that it's literally impractical to remove the laptop daily. When I try to pull the laptop off I can hear stress sounds on the computer's bottom cover. You can literally flip this stand upside down & the laptop would stay in place. If you don't need much holding power, I'd suggest first trying this without the sticky pad. Though not needed by me, some may appreciate this more if it came with a carrying case.

[Rewarded Review] A safe, stable laptop stand

This item was just what I needed. It is very stable with a wide leg base. The sides don't have a lip, which is important as I'm plugging in an additional camera and mic for online piano teaching. My biggest concern was finding a stand that would allow my laptop to be safe and in no danger of falling off during use. The grip on the sticky pad is quite strong; it takes both hands for me to pull it off when I'm finished. I would recommend this product.

[Rewarded Review] Outstanding!

This is the second one of these that I've purchased, since my kid grew very attached to the first one! Extremely stable, great adjustability (with a pin to lock it at various heights). The sticky pad on the top is very effective at preventing an oops.

Better then what was expected

I purchased this as a means to hold my laptop for my keyboard rig which it does excellent. Stand is very sturdy and well built the only flaw I have found is the lever lock system has no way of being adjusted so if they arent holding as tight later on when this get some use on it you have no way to fix it. They should have modeled it after the seat locks on bicycles where you could adjust the tension of these locks but other then that flaw it is a awesome stand and I hope the locks hold up over time. I would buy it again for other laptops I use for backing track computers and such.

[Rewarded Review] Don't love it, don't hate it

I got this one as it seemed to have the best reviews overall. As others have stated, the neck clamp seems more for show as it is really the pin (that goes through the neck column) that secures the height at set intervals.

[Rewarded Review] Perfect for indoor bike training

Bought this to hold my AirMac or iPad for when I am riding my smart trainer for indoor cycling. Solid, well made, lots of adjustability at a great price. Way way cheaper than the tables specifically made for indoor cycling. Holds my AirMac or iPad securely and at different angles. I position it either on the side of the bike or in front of the bike if I don't want to air play to my Apple TV. Would definitely buy again. Wish I knew about this sooner so I didn't have to use a stool that was way too low!!

[Rewarded Review] Great stands, but not perfect

This is my second purchase of these LTS50 stands. The bases are great, and built well. The only issue is with the tilter mechanism for the deck. The stamped metal used in the tilter is smooth on one side, but has rough edges on the other. This causes it to shred the plastic washers after only a few uses. Also, these same plastic washers are too thin for the application, and do not correctly fill the space between the sides of the bracket. But once you grind down the burs and swap out the washers, these stands are perfect.

A little wobbly when fully extended

I bought the laptop stand to replace the large and cumbersome projector table I have been using previously. This stand is far more compact and easy to set up, break down and store. It is also the right height--about the same as the four-legged table.

Sturdy stand and folds up nice and compact

Bought this stand for my MacBook. I use Apple Mainstage for live performance from a keyboard and this stand has it made it very easy for me to have the MacBook within arms reach during performance from my keyboard.

Anything-stand.

Solid locking mechanisms, good (if a bit stiff) folding action, and a locking pin. The feet have a fairly wide base at 26 and are rubber-capped, so they'll sit on anything without scratching it up slipping, or tipping. The stand's lower tubing has a diameter of about 1 and 1/5 (1.1875in) so most clamp-on accessories will work alright with it. Initially, I was a bit worried about complaints of the shelf rotating around with the lack of any proper locking mechanism for it, but the middle clamp does a pretty good job of keeping it in place when tightened down. You can tighten or loosen the clamps by adjusting a little Phillips-head screw underneath the clamp's lever when it's open. The shelf has 2 down-swept lips at the sides and 2 up-swept lips at the front and back of different sizes: a 2/8 lip at the back and a 5/8 lip at the front. By front/back, I mean the shelf only tilts downwards in one direction - towards the 5/8 lip. Naturally, the front lip is larger to prevent any laptop with a rounded chassis, like a macbook, from slipping off. Now, as I wanted to use these for some headphone amps, MIDI gear, and a bunch of other stuff, that big lip at the front was a problem. Why? All my equipment has front ports that rest about 3/8 off the the table surface. It's no good to have a 5/8 flap blocking them, especially when I need them tilted towards me to access the controls. A nice thing about this stand is that the shelf isn't welded or riveted into place - you can take it off! So with about 15 minutes and a socket driver with the right bit, I unbolted the shelf from the pivot joint, flipped it around, and re-fastened it so the bigger lip was in back. Problem solved. These things are so sturdy, I'd trust them better than my monitor stands. In fact, I've even ordered a few more as replacements. Good going, Samson.

Best as a stationary stand

I use this stand on photoshoots for tethered shooting to a laptop. The locking mechanisms all seem pretty stable, the construction is super solid, and the tray easily detaches for transportation. There are also no ridges on the side which allows better access to the sides of the computer. One downside is the height adjustment in the main shaft, it is held in place by a pin with allows the top to rotate, and holds the tray at predetermined heights, but prevents a person from lifting the stand from the tray to move it around the room, it needs to be lifted from the base. Another downside is the grip pad where the laptop goes, it attracts dirt and dust and needs to be covered with plastic when not in use to retain any functionality. Previously owned the Quiklok stand which has much worse construction, barely detachable tray, and side ridges the ruined our laptop ports, so this would be a step up but still not ideal.

Good, sturdy stand

I got this as a gift for a stage magician friend to use as a performance table, which admittedly is not the application it was designed for. However it's most important aspects are still the same as any application: it's sturdy, lightweight and packs well. The table edges are bent up along the long dimension and one lip is taller than the other. Presumably this is done to prevent a laptop from sliding if you tilt the tabletop down. I only mention this because it means it's important that your gear fits between the raised edges of the table top. The only other thing to watch out for is the tripod feet if you're going to be working close to the table. If you go for the most stable stance, they stick out and can trip you. If you go for a more compact stance, the unit is less stable. I like the stand and my magician friend is finding it easy to work with and take on gigs.

Honestly I wasn't expecting much in the way of quality when I ordered this, just something to hold either a laptop or a projector that was small and manageable.
