The shower arm had a defect in the threads. I took it to a local store and it would not screw into any drop ears they had either. I bought a different one from another manufacturer and it worked perfectly.

This was the second one that I ordered. Both of them were defective. The first one was deformed on the threads. And the second one had a burr on the threads. Keeping them from screwing into the female threads.

Looks good but I didn't start the bathroom project yey.

The shower arm was perfect along with the shower head I purchased

What a complete waste of my time and money. I originally installed a GB 8-in shower arm but realized I wanted a shorter arm, and this was the cheapest I could find in matte black. I waited days for this to arrive and in no way shape or form does it fit. I’m irate. Everywhere I’ve found a shorter arm in matte black is AT LEAST double the price and is only available to ship. Now I have to re-install my 8-in just so I can shower while I wait for a different brand shower arm to arrive IN A WEEK.

threads full of paint

Shower arm had so much paint it the threads it was impossible to screw in the fitting. I spent about 2 hours messing with it trying to clean out the paint before giving up and tossing it in the trash. A complete waste of time and money.

Westbrass is a solid manufacturer of plumbing accessories and this shower arm and flange are well made and come prepared with some type of Teflon on each end. We had changed out most bathroom fixtures to a matte black finish when this was not yet popular. Today it is and we are glad that Westbrass offers this capable option. Installation is simple and straight forward so most people would be able to install. Make sure you use an appropriate amount of additional Teflon tape on both sides of the shower arm before installing. All of the connections are solid and leak free. We are very happy with the way it turned out.

IPS threads not compatible with any plumbing inside your wall.

This product won't work for anyone ever. The shower arm has IPS (straight) threads and will not thread into the fitting inside the wall. If you buy it, you will have to return it and it will be completely useless.
