When you pay $100 for a tub spout, you REALLY expect it will work. It doesn’t. I thought it was perfect, a length that would actually go into the tub instead of splash into the floor, a rear diverted that wouldn’t get caught on the dog’s tail when I bathe him, and sleek. Except the diverted doesn’t divert anything. When I took it out of the box and tested it I thought it pulled funny, but chalked it up to being new and stiffer than I was used to on the worn out old one. Until I installed it and no matter whether I pull the diverted up or pushed it down, the water still flows out of the spigot, never the shower head. If this had only worked, it was exactly what I needed, and given I have one bathroom in the house now I’ve got to go out and buy something cheap that will at least divert water so we can use the shower while I try to figure out what to do with the expensive lemon. Given the other reviews I want to believe this was simply a defective piece that slipped past quality control, but with a 12-year-old and one bathroom it’s a pretty big problem. And I am mighty irritated to spend that kind of money on something that doesn’t work and means I have to invest yet more time and effort into fixing my shower.

The WESTBRASS 8-1/2 inch brass rear diverter tub spot is covered in polished chrome and it is beautiful. The chrome is so shinny that you can see yourself in it. This down spout is very heavy duty and probably weighs about 2 pounds and is actually almost 9 inches long .The wall mount side is about 2-1/2 inches in diameter with an extra fitting so it can hook up to a 1/2 inch pipe or a 3/4 inch pipe. The connect is on the wall side of this spout. This spout really gives a tub a touch of class. This spout will last for many years.
