This is a really nice product

This is the second one I've bought. Was satisfied with the first, so I bought a second. It was easy to assemble, and it looks great in my office. I own multiple Sauder products, and I'm satisfied with them all.

Poor Quality and does not justify product rating.

Extremely Poor Quality-after 6 hours of following the instruction sheet, a neighbor,wife and myself had a terrible experience. Upon standing the unit up and checking it for stability-THE WHOLE UNIT SWAYED AND FELL APART. We followed the directions to a T-Just weak and terrible to assemble. Be Aware of the difficulty-our neighbor is experienced in such an assemly and it did not matter in the end.

Honest evaluation

The bookcase was damaged but I decided to keep it anyhow. The corner of the top shelf was chipped and the top was somewhat split on the under side. Since these problems were not visible and did not endanger it's stability, I have kept it. Hopefully it will remain attractive and still do the job as it is in my Living Room and I really need it.

I bought this product because it looked sturdy and good qual

Only needed a hammer, screwdriver, and tape measure. Easy to follow assembly instructions. The only thing that was difficult was putting the screws in the base, it was an awkward angle and I needed a lot of torque. I haven't put my books on it yet, but so far it looks and feels really sturdy. And I like that the shelf is adjustable but still looks nice and solid. This looked nice online, but it actually looks even better in person!

Very Poor Quality Sauder product!! Disappointed!!

I bought two of this product a week ago. This engineered wood is of poor quality and the shelves arrived with damages. In any case put one together as I needed one badly, In the end realized that the back panel of he bookcase was also a misfit. It is too much of work to dismantle and box it and return.. so decided to keep that. Returning the second one. I never write reviews generally but I wanted to save others from wasting their money and buy a poor quality merchandise like this one

Excellent product!

I have now ordered, on different occasions, this two shelf bookshelf. Each had all pieces included, excellent instructions, and when assembled looks just like the photograph. I put this together by myself. Take the time, follow the instructions and you will not be disappointed. The quality is high. It looks as good and is as strong as shelves that are much more expensive. Mine hold hardback books in my library. I do not believe you will be disappointed.

So much better than IKEA

Heavy duty looking. Easy to put together. Look really sturdy and expensive. Bought our first entertainment center 30 years ago. Moved it twice. The next homeowner wanted it so left it behind. Regretted it. Bookshelf purchased for new house. Brought it with us three more moves. This last house we just bought had no bookshelves. We looked everywhere including IKEA. We had no luck. Then all of a sudden we said remember Sauder we loved their stuff . Let sees if they are still around. To our surprise and relief you are. Now we have a library all set up.

Exactly as advertised!

Looks good, easy to assemble. For once, something actually looks and performs as it does in the ad. Was exactly as advertised. Purchased this book shelf to use as AV component cabinet (receiver, DVD player, etc.) for my wall mounted TV. Modified slightly by drilling 1.5" hole in back, just above middle shelf, for component cables to fit through--yet still remain hidden from viewer. The top of the "book shelf" is perfect to hold a 36" sound bar. This is big enough to hold components but has a small enough foot print to unclutter a room. Would definitely buy again -- for this purpose.

damaged goods

I received my order, but when I opened the box the topmost piece had a crack. I tried to call to see what to do but the message said closed for the holidays and then I forgot about it until now. I wasn't sure what to do and I ripped the box apart to get it opened. I would never have been able to get everything back in the way it was. If you have a suggestion for me I would appreciate it. Also I ordered the wrong piece but perhaps the one I already have is no longer available. In any case I put it together not knowing what else to do. Also only two of the parts were marked so it was somewhat difficult to figure out which piece went where. I prefer not to pay full price for something that is damaged and I really don't need anything else. The bookcases I already had I think are either mahogany or cherry. There is no facing on the removable shelf or the sides. Also the color of this one is darker.
