Looks nice but is not going to be durable

I purchased this for my bedroom and was a little bit disappointed in the quality of the piece of furniture. It's primarily particleboard and I know it will not stand the test of time. It looks nice for now.

It's pretty decent quality for the price. It is mostly particle board, not solid wood, but you can't expect more in this price range. It is quite heavy and solid when assembled. The shipping carton is well protected and HEAVY. I opened the top and took all the pieces out and moved them to where I was assembling. I suggest assembly in the room you plan to use it as long as you have the room to work on it there. Otherwise you'll need two people to move it elsewhere when done - especially if on a different floor. . I have a lot of experience assembling this type of furniture. Plan on 2-3 hours for assembly - there are many parts. I also recommend you leave ALL the hardware in the bubble bins it comes packed in. If you cut all of those open and dump parts out you will have a difficult time finding the right hardware piece as you are assembling. I just cut a slit in each bin and took out the number of pieces required for the step i was on. If you follow the directions EXACTLY you'll be happy. Do NOT use power tools to install screws - it's too easy to strip out the holes in particle board. All the pieces were labeled but sometimes it wasn't obvious where the label was. Keep looking, checking all sides and edges - the label is there somewhere. Always check the position for each screw you are to install against the diagrams - it's possible to start on the wrong side or wrong edge because you didn't pay attention to the pictures in the assembly manual. The two biggest issues with assembly were: 1) getting the rear ""cardboard"" panel aligned. You probably won't be able to get all 4 pre-drilled screw holes centered in the panel holes. That's OK, just make sure the panel doesn't hang over the top or sides of the chest. You should still be able to see the pre-drilled holes they just might not be centered in the panel cut-outs. 2) aligning drawer fronts after assembly which is critical if you want it to look great when done. . Again, if you follow the directions you should be OK. You will probably need to adjust the drawer fronts Left-Right and Up-Down. Very easy to adjust IF you followed the directions when assembling the drawers and you left the 4 screws for the drawer face loose as instructed. You make adjustments and tighten these screws once all assembly is complete and drawers are installed. You may have to go over them a couple of times to get all the gaps just right but it's easy enough to do. Once done with alignment, go over all screws on each drawer to make sure they are tight. I didn't have any problem with chips, damage, or missing parts. It would be nice if they included extra parts in each of the little bins just in case you drop something and can't find it. But they don't, so make sure you're working at a place where you won't loose anything if you drop it.

Love this chest, but not the assembly

I would have given it 5 stars if not for the assembly required. When we opened and organized the parts, they covered the entire surface of a king-sized bed. I had bought this chest elsewhere about a year ago, and there was only partial assembly needed. Please make it clear on the site that this is a total assembly.

I like Sauder Furniture

I bought the County Line Salt Oak dresser & night stand a few years ago & recently purchased the 4-drawer chest & book case as I moved the pieces into a larger bedroom and just love it. Assembly was easy, but a bit time consuming. So worth it!! I plan to buy other pieces from Sauder.

Good quality & nice size

I love the dresser. It's wider than expected but that more of a plus. Was hoping to fit two inside of the closet but only one will fit since there's also a toy box. I plan on ordering a second one while they're on sale so that I will have it when my daughters are ready to have their own room.
