Very nice and comfortable

These chairs were extremely comfortable for the island. I was actually supposed as to how comfortable they were as they did not look comfortable in the picture. Although they do not come assembled, they were not difficult to put together.

Cute MCM Counter Height Stools

These are light-weight and have a great look for the counter in my 1953 home. I had to return them because the color didn't work with the "sister" chairs I have in my eat-in kitchen. I've attached a picture that shows the table height chairs (sorry my mom and dogs are in the pic) since they look just like the counter height chairs. Bonus Note: Easy to assemble. If they get these in the color I need, I would definitely buy them again.

Kitchen Chairs

I'd been looking to replace my larger sized kitchen table, but that also meant replacing the chairs. These are beautiful contemporary chairs. They are lighter than I expected. I would definitely follow the recommendation of 2-people for assembly to be sure chairs are secure.

Great chairs, but a bear to assemble

I love the look of these chairs! They feel sturdy and fairly comfortable. But they were not very easy to assemble. It took lots of patience! The instructions were decent, but you have be extra careful to position the pieces in the proper direction (pay attention to the direction of the letters). The Allen key had to continually be re-inserted into the bolt and it was kind of tricky to get it to fit in with each turn. (I ended up using the Allen key from an Ikea chair I had just assembled -- it was the correct size and, for some reason, easier to fit in.) There were no pre-existing holes for attaching the seat, which was annoying, but not so hard to do. I used a drill on a couple of the holes, but was also able to do some with just a screwdriver, as the wood is soft enough. It was also annoying that the letter labels don't peel off easily; they need to be very carefully scraped off, so as not to scratch the very soft wood. Other than how tedious they were to assemble, I am very happy with these chairs. They are of decent quality for the price.

Cute but ridiculous to assemble

Chairs are cute once assembled but, beware, assembly was worse than ANYTHING we ever purchased from *****. The parts are well-labled with extra bolts and screws, which is a good thing because you will strip most of them out while assembling the chairs. The access for the hardware are recessed so much that any tools other than those provided cannot be used to simplify such a maddening task. Are the bolts and screws tight? You'll never know! They all stripped out halfway through the build. Once done, the chairs are definitely cute. The effort, however, too put them together was extremely ridiculous for the price paid. Set aside some serious time and patience for the 1/5 turns you'll be making with the alan key provided or this one will have you yelling at your help in less than half an hour.

4 Stars

I bought the darker brown stools with the grey seat. They are beautiful and look stylish for the price point, but they also seem a little delicate and some may prefer a more padded seat. They are comfortable and have good back support. Some of the parts are labeled with stickers (A, B, C, etc.) which were not always easy to remove and can look funny if you don't. The instructions say you only need the included Allen key and your own screwdriver but I found that was not the case. There are no holes in the seat to fasten the screws to the base, so you should be a little handy to be able to drill them in yourself with a power drill, or hire someone to do it. Packaging was fine, everything arrived as it should and there is also one extra piece of all screws included. I ended up hiring someone to assemble them for me and it took less than an hour to do 4. Overall I am very pleased with how they look and feel, but thought the assembly was unnecessarily complicated.

Good looking, awful construction

So they look nice, I'll give them that. Unfortunately, they are absolutely horrific to put together and no amount of fiddling will make these little devils stop wobbling. They're not remarkably comfortable, but they're not intolerable. It took 3 people taking a stab at these things to get them to sit mostly straight. Putting the seat on includes blindly drilling itty bitty screws into solid wood at a bizarre angle, meaning you can't fit a drill and you can barely pin the little brats in place long enough to screw them in. Assembly service would have been a good investment evidently...

High End Look Without The Price Tag

These are REALLY nice chairs for the price. They look high end and are very comfortable to sit in. Very easy to put together with two people. After we did the first one, the rest were a breeze (purchased four). We did use a power drill for the seats since there were no pre-made holes to screw that in with. We did not have issues with any of the pieces, they all fit together perfectly. I would say it took about an hour to do all four. These chairs are gorgeous, I honestly can't stop staring at them. So happy with this purchase!

The quality was excellent and the chairs look and function great. This was a risk to order online, but the specs and description were spot on, so they fit perfectly in the space at our new counter/kitchen island. The walnut and grey set off our design. The stools are sturdy and well made. I am very pleased and would purchase them again. It makes the space look classy and modern. Overstock had them at my doorstep in 4 days - and I live in a remote area of the Rockies. they were not difficult to assemble.

I've been looking for the right counter height stools to replace my worn out ones for weeks. I finally decided on these because I love the look and the reviews were mostly positive. I received these yesterday and assembled them this morning. If you read the instructions first and make sure you have the right parts in the right places, they are very easy to assemble. The are absolutely beautiful and feel sturdy enough for my not so small family. I'm very pleased with this product and am optimistic that they will hold up over time.

These chairs are fantastic! The wide seat makes it really comfortable to sit on, the screw feet allow you to balance the chair. Arrived with no scratches and the seat cushion was intact. Assembly was fairly easy with the exception of the allen key slots for four of the screws. It was a bit tight and would only allow incremental turns at times. Also, it would be handy to have a drill and small wood drill bits as you need to screw L-brackets into the underside of the seat and the inside of the hard wood frame. Holds my weight at 235lbs without any creaking or wobbling.

It too my husband about 1 hour to put together 4 of them. I will say, though, that he put together all of our Ikea cabinets when we did our recent remodel, so he is not spatially challenged! We got them about 3 months ago. We love them! We have gotten so many compliments on them. They do not appear the top of the line, but at the same time, they do not appear cheap. They are also quite sturdy and my husband is known to throw his weight around (he's about 205 lbs) and they have stood up to him. We love them so much that we purchased two more just to have on hand for guests.

Comfortable and really nice looking

My husband sat on these and said "this is the most comfortable stool that I've ever sat on." I agree - they are ergonomically perfect for both of us (he is 6'-2", and I am 5'-7"). Fantastic back support. And they also look MUCH more expensive than they are. They are reasonably easy to put together (everything is labeled). It took me about 30 minutes to put the first one together, but once I got the hang of it, the rest were very quick. One minor criticism - the seat of the stool has 4 brackets that bolt it to the base. There are no pre-drilled holes for the brackets, and the wood is VERY hard. You need an electric drill to drill the holes.

Beautiful chairs but missing proper assembly piece

I had been longing for these chairs for so long, and was confident they would work out, due to the great reviews. I loved the way they looked, however there was a problem. The seats do not attach correctly and there are no pre drilled holes on the rear portion of the seat or frame where it attaches to the frame. I did not want to drill into the frame, or the seat and risk damaging these chairs. Overstock sent a total of 4 chairs, they all had the same issue. So now I have to return all of them.,
