Small adjustments needed

All-in-all the faucet set works fine; however, the brass component did not line up exactly so that the "Oakbrook" logo on the faceplate was 'level'. It wasn't necessarily a noticeable problem so I just completed the installation. Again, the problem was aesthetic, not functional.

A plumber put this in a bathroom I had added in my basement. Plastic parts, chintzy feel, but the real problem is controlling the water temperature. It is so sensitive that a slight movement swings the temperature wildly. I'm wondering if there is a replacment for the innards that would work better
