Exactly as described. Works well. Finding the right level of toasting is a little bit hard and vary from time to time. Overall super happy.

Great toaster. Easy to use. Simple controls. Attractive. Toasts evenly. Toast pops up so it is easy to retrieve. We haven't tried the defrost or bagel settings.

Save Your Time and Money!

I bought this toaster based on the positive reviews, but unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations and was returned after just two days. The toaster failed to brown the toast evenly; one side would burn while the other side was just right, even with incremental adjustments. My previous toaster was a Breville, which was much quieter and had a simple button to start and stop the toasting process, as well as select settings like bagel or frozen. Transitioning to a toaster that requires pushing a lever down was particularly challenging, especially for someone with arthritis. Additionally, the indicator sound when the toast popped up was quite loud. I've decided to order another Breville to get back to a more user-friendly experience.

After 8 years…

It finally just quit working. Well, one side works still, but I need all 4 slots for our family. Came here looking to replace it. Definitely got my moneys worth after all those years!

Across the board similar downfall

Bought this toaster 03/2024, and find this suffers the same problem as all current production toasters. The heating elements do not heat up evenly as they touch the mounting boards which 'SUCKS' the heat from the element strips. I days gone by, these strips used to be 'crimped', to keep 75% of the strip off the board and allow for heat build up for toasting. Now with material cost being what it is, these strips are now just flat bands. If companies could mount a 'spacer' mid strip to 'lift' the strip from the mounting board, I feel the strips would heat more evenly, making the toaster more efficient.

Black and Decker is an amazing appliance

I had a Black and Decker toaster before I bought this one. I had it for about 30 years before the electronic device that holds the toaster switch down quit working. I highly recommend this appliance.

Was rated second in Canada

I was looking for a new toaster and we decided that a 4 slice toaster would be better then two as we’ve had a two slice Oster toaster for over 20 years and recently it sadly stopped working. They don’t make toasters or for that matter anything as good as twenty or more years ago. Most of them are tinny and cheaply made.

Abysmal would be a kind understatement!

Profondly disappointed. Since reviews of virtually all toasters are heavily laden with bad experiences, as was this toaster, I thought I would take a chance because I do remember growing up that Black & Decker use to make great tools...I still have a working B&D drill from the 60's. Based on this abysmal toaster, "Use to" is the operative word. It toasted one side unevenly dark and the other hardly at all. Forget the "Bagel" button because, based on my experiece, it is not connected to anything. And the only positive thing I could say about this toaster, if you could classify it as such is that both pairs of the 4-slots functioned in the same manner. It does make one wonder who's running the shop🙄 I would not even recommend this company's toaster or other products to my worst enemy because I don't believe in torture🤬

I always need a 4 slice toaster in my house for convenience when making more than two slices of bread,bagels,pop tarts or toaster pastries. Black and decker is my favorite brand. Very affordable on any budget. They last a long time compared to other brands. Even if I only need to toast 1 or 2,I can use just one side. Very easily adjustable dials to getting the perfect desired toast.

I did quite a bit of research before buying this toaster. I wanted to replace a slightly older B&D 4-slice which lacked some of the features I wanted. This definitely has what I was looking for: visible indicator on the time knob, illuminated buttons for bagel and defrost settings, easy to locate eject button. I tested it our of the box and it toasted sliced bread to my liking. However, the bagel setting does not appear to have any effect; I tested it with a slice of bread and both sides came out equally toasted. I will experiment further but so far, this is the only Issue - not quite a deal-breaker, but if anything else arises we'll have to see.

I have had this toaster for about 4 months or so. I was looking at b=various brands and decided Black and Decker was about as good as they come and I have not been disappointed! I love the wide slots that are plenty big enough for bagels, Texas Toast and more! Easy clean up features 2 removable bottom trays. It has separate controls which makes it easy to make toast for 2 people with varying browning. I love that it has the extra little lift feature so we are not burning our fingertips trying to remove our toast. It is well made and durable. I love the high polish steel sheen too! We use this on almost a daily basis so it has really gotten a work out and we have had no issues at all. We love it!!

I really really love this toaster. It has an old fashion look to it. It reminds me of a 50s diner with malt shakes and poodle skirts. I love that you can toast 4 slices of bread separately and adjust each section to desired doneness. The snowflake button was a little confusing at first and I did not use it till my toaster strudels came out slightly frozen that I realized I should of used it. It does take some getting use to toggling the button to set your desired level of heat for the perfect piece of toast. This is a really great toaster. I tend to keep my toaster out on the counter at all times however so if you do the same and have limited counter space this does take some room. Overall a really great toaster though.

What a great toaster! It has so many options to do the perfect toasting! I love the bagel option, how it only toasts the top side. Another great feature is the frozen selection. These are the two toasting options that are new to me. The toaster works great, has your dark/light knob so you can select what you like easily. The knobs work great, the toasting arms go down easy and pop up on cue. They also lift your toast up high so you can grab it without touching the hot toaster. I also love the tray that allows you to easily remove the crumbs! As an added bonus, this toaster has a sleek, stainless steel look that will match any decor and look classy!

I was given the Black And Decker 4 Slice Toaster free in exchange for an honest review. First thing I noticed was the sleek design and features of the taoster like the large deep pockets big enough for bread or bagels. I toasted my bread on level 5 because I don't like it too dark and it came out perfectly. I could make enough toast or bagels to feed 4 people in a matter of minutes and clean up is a breeze as well. I can not wait to try it out again on some frozen waffles I am sure they will be perfect. I would recomend this toaster to anyone who loves the sleek look classic fininsh and fast toasting time!! So easy even the kids could make their own!

this is the best toaster I have ever had in my life. It has a frozen setting for frozen pastries and it also has a bagel setting for toasting bagels both are perfectly timed to cook your pastries/bagels to perfection. There are enough settings for everyone to find their perfect toast. I love the push button to end the toasting early. My 12 and 13 year old love this toaster, they use it almost daily to make their breakfast, my daughter use to hate toasting her bagels because they never fit right in the toaster but they fit perfectly in this toaster. The chrome also looks great on the counter with any kitchen decor you may have. I love this toaster

This four slice toaster is very nice. It is stainless steel which looks great on my kitchen counter. It having four slots is very convenient and saves a bunch of time. On each side there is a knob so the length of time that say my toast is in there can be fixed. What I also really like is that there is a small button on each side that can be pressed if I'm putting something frozen inside. Another button is also right next to that one which is especially for bagels. So no matter what I need toasted this perfectly toasts it everything. This toaster is also easy to clean when needed. There is pieces on the bottom that come out easily so all the crumbs can be cleaned out. So overall this toaster is easy to use and clean, stylish and toasts everything to perfection.

I love this toaster! It so easy to use and toast pretty fast. The silver looks great on my countertop. The slots are wide and can fit thick breads and bagels. One of my favorite features is the toaster pops high enough so you don't have to stick your fingers inside it to retrieve your bread and even though it pops high enough it still has the extended lift lever. It has a bagel feature and a frozen feature that are very useful. It also has a cancel button which I love because I use to have to disconnect my last toaster if I wanted to retrieve my bread! Lol! Overall, great toaster with a nice even toast on the bread!

I absolutely love this product, The design and color of it is very sleek and modern. The 4 slice is awesome for my large family. It cuts down kitchen time in half when I need to use a toaster. Also the different settings are nice, frozen mode really thaws the items without making them mushy. The 1-7 settings are awesome too because you can really tell a difference between each one so you have a specific idea of what each number will do . I also like that each side has their own settings for more convenience.It is also made heavy duty so I expect it will last a very long time.
