Slim can and stood behind warranty

We love the clean, simple design of this slim trashcan. We need it to fit into a small space and it was perfect. Before purchasing this one we tried another brand and the step broke. This one has a much sturdier construction. And we like that when you put the trashcan in it hides the top of it so it is unseen. The company also stood behind their 10 year warranty. One part of the hinge broke. They replaced our trashcan for free. You don’t get that much nowadays!

Awesome customer service

We have enjoyed our slim step can for several years but started having some issues with the lid. I contacted their customer service who were most helpful in resolving the issue. The design features we appreciate are the can shape and orientation of the lid, the convenient hands- free foot petal, the option of “locking” the lid in an open position and how the closed lid seals out odors! Great product by an outstanding company that stands behind their product!

Matte black is perfect!

With our new kitchen I needed a better looking trash can and I came to Simple Human, of course. This one is perfect for my new location. My only complaint it how the bags fit, or don’t fit. I have so many bags already and the old can had a full liner with a hole where I could tighten the drawstring. This can doesn’t have that but I figured out how to get enough tension to hold it up. I also liked that the liner would contain any leaks but it was wasn’t often. I hope it is easy to clean any leaks that may occur. But it definitely looks better than my stainless steel one with the new kitchen. The stainless is now in the garage.

I love this trash can so much!

I love my $100 trash can. I know it seems like a lot for a trash can, but I love it every time I use it. It's taller than your average plastic kitchen trash bin, and has a lid to keep my dog out, which were goals when I was looking. But furthermore, the lid opens perfectly and hands free with the foot pedal.

Thin, white Kitchen Trash Can.

This is perfect for small spaces. I use it to store grocery bags for reuse. The only improvement I would suggest is that a New Bag Holder/Dispenser be designed in the interior like my double sided Simply Human trash can. This way the can and a supply of can liners are self contained and one unit. You don’t have to search in another storage area for the can liners. Happy with the product for my purposes.

Not this one

I bought this to replace my old simplehuman garbage can. Unfortunately, that was a mistake. This model is very cheap. The can wobbles every time I open it until there's enough trash in it to keep it weighted down. The liner rim doesn't open or close easily. I have to pry it open and once I've changed the liner and closed the top it doesn't sit flush against the can. Either I got a lemon or this is a poorly made product. Very disappointed.

Well made and stylish, but metal can and plastic lid are thinner than ideal

A well made product that has an attractive stylish design and finish, both in terms of the shape and finish. Price is high but not more so than competing products of the same quality, particularly when discounted when on promotion. Only major criticism would be that the metal (can and pedal) and plastic (lid) parts would ideally be thicker, but this is a common issue with products of this type that is no better with most competing products, and with some significantly worse, where the metal is so thin/weak to dent at the slightest impact.

Old vs New

We got our first SH trash can of the same type 14 years ago. Did order a replacement part about a year ago (nice to have such parts available) but finally decided to replace it recently. This new one is even nicer. I like soft close lid, and the two parts to the lid that hides the edges of the trashbag. The stainless look exterior is nice, our old one was dark gray.

Often iImitated never duplicated by knock off brands. Simplehuman uses quality materials in every product they sell. This sleek can is an attractive flawless design built with quality mechanical components. It will last !! 10 year warranty as well. My home has so many of their innovative products inside it. They do make life Simpler. The Best .

I have been the owner of a butterfly step trash can from SimpleHuman for over 20 years...and have loved it! The only reason I needed to purchase a new trash can was because my springs were worn out and I was told they were no longer available. I was so happy with that trash can, that I knew I would purchase another SimpleHuman trash can to replace it. The new one came, and it is so lightweight and wobbly that it constantly moves. After opening it a few times, I have to move it back in place. This is a complete annoyance. Also, the step to open the lid is very uncomfortable on the foot...almost painful. I am really not happy with my purchase and wish I could get rid of it.
