Lovely storage

It went together well. Nicely made. Looks great in our living room . Very happy with it. This is our second purchase from Simple Home. I’ve been very happy with both purchases.

I ordered the gray, the color is a little funky. It’s almost like a whitewashed or a painted on gray color. The material is not a solid hardwood, it is light and feels light like a manufactured wood. I am disappointed, I have bought furniture off Wayfair and their competition online, when something says solid wood it usually is. This was not but paid the price for a hardwood.

We love it! It is exactly as described. It only took 1 hour for one not particularly handy person to assemble (and not 2, as some other reviews have said). There were a few errors in the instructions, hence the 4-star rating, but we were able to avert those.

This storage unit is beautiful and functional!!! It’s sturdy and looks great in our family room for the grandkids diapers and toys. Very satisfied!

Holes drilled incredibly wrong. Nothing lines up after the second step. Everything needs to be redrilled. Someone missed a zero on the CNC drilling machine. Very frustrating!! 0/10

This is a lovely piece of furniture. Very nice quality and it was easy for my husband to assemble. It is perfect for our office, adding substantial storage for books. Highly recommend!

Good looking book shelf , however putting it together as instructed was extremely difficult since holes did not align properly. We had to use a drill to help. Decided not to attach the back pieces due to issues with attaching the screws to nonexistent holes and a concern that using the drill would cause irreparable damage to wood.

Color and size great. Split in top at left end needed wood glue repair. Too bad these products have defects. Packaging was okay and doesn't explain the damage.

took all the time in the world putting this together. read through the directions many times. about 1/4 of the holes didn't line up, and were off by a few millimeters. had big potential to look beautiful. ended up nailing it together in some spots. back pieces didn't even lay flat on the back. tossed it after a year, an unfortunate waste of money. i wonder if i just got a manufacturing error where the holes weren't drilled into the proper placements.

Beautiful bookcase, exactly what I was looking for. But….. the box had two right side panels. I called wayfair and they send me a whole new bookcase with a right and left side panels. The person I talked with was nice and made the process easy. Assembly was not easy, but doable and took a considerable amount of time in my opinion. If you don’t have experience assembling furniture items then this was not easy.

The size is perfect for albums and cds. The color is a little more brown than gray, as stated in the description, but still looks good. The manufacturer had placed the warning information stickers on the exterior of the bookcase instead of on the back panel facing a wall where they should have been. Took me 3 days of coaxing to get them off without damaging the wood. Also, had to wait 7 months for delivery.

While we love the size and overall look of the cubbies, the instructions could use a little work! As could the pre-drilled holes. There is NO WAY we could have put this together with just the tools that came with it. We ended up having to use our drill and even that was a challenge at times. Also, the color is not as expected, but like I said overall we do like it!

Pleased with the quality of the bookcase itself. The assembly process was painful because the wrong screws were included - they did not work without pre-drilled holes. We needed to go and get different screws before completing assembly. Also, the instructions should have indicated which way the interior panels needed to face in the first step - we didn't find out they were facing the wrong way until near the end.

DO NOT BUY THIS. I am no stranger to building these kind of cam-lok furniture pieces. This one is just garbage. All the tolerances are way off. None of the provided dowels fit tight. In fact most just fall right out of the holes provided and almost none of the cam-locks will actually hold in the locked position. Not only are the cam-lock holes the wrong diameter, but also placed in the wrong distance to fully engage the pin. This piece of *AHEM* furniture and I use that term loosely is not worth $40 let alone $400

Color is true to the ad. Assembly, while not a party, went well and was simple and straightforward. Unit is solid. It can hold many heavy books without sagging. It really is solid wood, even the back panels which are thin plywood and finished on both sides. Frankly the only reason I downgraded a "star" was the packaging. Don't get me wrong, it fully protected the product but there was SO MUCH polystyrene. I get it. Polystyrene is cheap and it works but honestly, I'd have paid a little more to have been able to recycle all the packaging.

The product looks nice. However, it was horrible to put together. The box had two right sides. Wayfair sent an entire other box just for that one replacement piece. So we had to deal with throwing out a whole other bookcase. The instructions weren’t that great. Also, while I was waiting for the second one to be delivered, the price was cut by $70. Very frustrating.

Overall we are happy with it - it is a strong durable shelf that will last a while and be used often! We like the color and the way it looks with the rest of our furniture.

Love this piece which we were able to assemble in about an hour. Assembly is MUCH easier with two people. The only tricky part was making sure the internal compartment boards were aligned properly; the installation directions are not as helpful as they could be in this regard. The piece has an initial odor (which others have described) so put together in a well-ventilated area. The odor diminishes over a few days. We did not put on the backing panels because we wanted it open from both sides; the backing panels are not essential for support and the back is finished so they are more a matter of preference than a necessity. The unit looks great with the hyacinth grass baskets we purchased. Make sure you get baskets which are absolutely no more than 12" for all dimensions or they will not fit.

This bookcase is my first real piece of furniture in my first house out of college. I placed it in our study, slowly moving out goodwill purchases for solid and beautiful furnishings. This was honestly the best pick. It opens up the room, it is smooth, dark, and beautiful. It makes everything else look subpar, so I will be needing more. It holds around 150 books, and I have a 20 gallon planted aquarium​ on top flanked with plants. It is sturdy​ and elegant.
