I replace some 15 year old Rubbermaid trash cans with new ones. They are the right size for my house. I would buy them again. However, the 8 gallon trash bags I bought with them don't fit and need to be refunded.

Not what I expected.

It is labeled as an 8-gallon trash can, but it’s much taller than a ‘standard’ 8-gallon. In fact, the 8-gallon trash can liners are too small. I’m using the tall kitchen liners. It fits in my space under the sink, but in order to use it, I have to pull it out.

I looked for Rubbermaid as the can I had before was perfect, strong and sturdy. I looked around and couldn't find them anywhere so I was excited to see this one. I did think it strange to priced so low, but went ahead and got two anyway. Well, there's a reason no one carries them and that they are so affordable... no bags fit them :(. They are too wide at the top even for the brand name bags. So I'm using 13 gallon bags in a can designed for 8 gallon ones. Oh well.

Just what I wanted!

Target offers many choices, but I wanted something TALL, and I found it in this Rubbermaid Waste Basket. That the trash bag can be clipped on so as not to fall in on itself is a plus. This is a sturdy, solid item. It's perfect! I absolutely recommend it.

It's not 8 gallons

The piece itself is fine. Just what you'd expect from Rubbermaid. But it is not 8 gallons. It's shorter than a standard 13-gallon kitchen trash can, yes, but be aware that it *requires 13-gallon bags.*

Serves its purpose! A bit large for my 8-gallon trash bags, but the 13-gallon bags work very nicely in it, and the can doesn't take up much space. The liner lock is a nice feature, and I prefer this to the annoying swinging lids!

Practical. Good value.

Really nice wastebasket. Holds the 13 gallon white plastic bags perfectly even without the retention latches, which are also a great feature. Plan on getting more for other rooms, the garage.

Fits my household needs better than a 13 gallon. I still use the 13 gallon bags which works out nicely as there is always something in the fridge to throw out too. Love that the bag never falls in on its self because of the clasps on the ends.

Disappointed!

Initially I liked the liner lock system on both handles. However, after about a year, we have managed to loose the inner lock from one side and break the inner lock on the other side. So we now have just a regular trash can. So not a big deal, since it is still an ok trash can, it's just that we lost the feature that placed it above the rest and made us buy it in the first place.

I absolutely love the Rubbermaid open top waste basket with liner lock plastic 7 gallon gray. Not only is it really nicely made, but it is large enough so that the waste paper baskets do not overflow. They are nicely made, they are reasonably priced, and the Equate 12 gallon kitchen Flex bags work well. I recommend this product

The trash can fits perfectly under the kitchen sink and is a good size. The liner lock tends to come off when unlatched, so I simply use the trash can with 13 gallon trash bags which work out very well. Overall, I am very pleased with the item and very glad that Home Depot carries it.

If you are like many people who go through the nightmare of trying to find trash cans to fit within cabinets, you're not going to be happy with Home Depot: THE DIMS LISTED ARE FLAT OUT WRONG! This is an 19" tall can, not 18" as listed. I called Rubbermaid today, and the ONLY can that is still out there that matches the dims on this listing (14.5 x 11 x 18) is for the old-fashioned can that's been around since 2003: MODEL NUMBER 2306. They do not make an 18" tall can with the Liner Locks. Somehow, you will find this model number listed all over major retail sites (Rubbermaid calls the model number a "material number" and the 1835854 is for a 19" tall can). It appears that every retailer out there is doing the same thing, but Rubbermaid claims they never made an 18" can with Liner Locks. There are also NO Rubbermaid commercial cans (ie. recycle cans) that measure 18" tall. Their commercial products website does not list product dimensions either (only package dims). Bottom Line: If you need an 18" can for in-cabinet storage, you are wasting your time searching for any other product, except model number 2306. Good luck! I've wasted more time in gas and returns than I care to admit. Shame on Home Depot for not correcting this after they've been notified. The only store (major cheapo retailer...not Home Depot) I've found that will do ship to store for a 2306, lists the can as being 36 quart and over 27" tall! Less
