Type of Rug I Was Looking For But Have Concerns

Not quite ready to “install” the area rug as we just had wood floors installed but I unpacked it today to make sure it was in good condition. I have never had a natural rug before so I am not sure what is acceptable and what isn’t. I wanted a uniform look but there are places where the fibers are a blackish color and look like stains/threading issues. I ordered the Marble/Linen so dark colors stand out. Plus there are a couple of places where the fibers have stray threads. I am concerned about the longevity for this natural fiber rug and it isn’t cheap, so I expect it to last a long time. Also, while my small dog doesn’t have 24:7 access to the room, I am concerned he might think its a “scratching post”. Yes, I have a dog, not a cat, that likes to “dig” things. Plus, concerned about stains. It is going in a dining room. I realize these last concerns are about wear and tear, but on the fence if I should return because of the color variations and some lose threads
