This product is very cheaply made, the back of the bookcase is cupboard and the chipboard material is so cheap that it splits when you put the screws in. I am a very unhappy and disappointed customer. Not happy Temple and Webster - please contact me for return details. For the price of this piece I would expect to have a wooden back to it.

Great bookcase

I really like this soft white bookcase. No, it doesn't look high end or custom, but it's cute and appears relatively well made. It isn't perfect as far as everything lining up immaculately, but for the price I didn't expect perfection. I'm using it in my kitchen for extra storage and to display cookbooks and such and it's perfect for that.

Oh this was a beautiful item. Arrived very well packaged. Bought two to sit side by side next to my living room fireplace to “look” like build in’s. Not one of the two, had missing parts, marked up parts, or scratched coating. The hardware wasn’t cheap either!!! Well made and beautiful.

You get what you pay for

It's okay. The doors do not look like that in the picture--there's about a 3/4 inch gap where the top of the door meets that first shelf, so you can see the raw wood backstop and inside the cabinet when the doors are closed. The hinges allow for maybe an 1/8 inch vertical adjustment, but it still looks like the doors were not made to fit that space. Had I known, I would've found something else.

This is really lovely

I put this in my laundry room to replace some wire shelving I had there. . . now every is neat and tidy with room to spare. Stuff I want to keep more private I have behind the doors. My handyman and I took slightly over 2 hours to put together; instructions are very good and easy to follow if you pay attention (we had one slight goof that was my fault). Wish I had bought this sooner. BTW, very well packaged, too.

Great Cabinet for the price.

The cabinet looks great and will add additional storage to my office area. It did take about 10 hours to put it together over several days.

Wobbles horribly. Very flimsy and cheaply made for the cost. Thought, this is a Sauder's so the quality will be good. But like everything else, quality is greatly reduced compared to previous Sauder's shelf that did not ever wobble even after being moved four times. Would like to return, but already put together so stuck with it. Looks nice if you do not touch it.

Beautiful Bookcase

This bookcase is beautiful! It did take a while to assemble but the directions were easy to follow. The cabinet is very sturdy and everything lines up perfectly. We could not be happier or more satisfied. We even put lights under each shelf to help showcase the Christmas items on the shelves. I would recommend this bookcase to anyone. We love it!

Very nice for the price, and good instructions

This is a good product for the price. You're getting particle board with veneer, which is expected at the price point, but the overall result looks good and feels solid. The assembly instructions were quite good, written by someone with a sense of humor, and easy to follow. I put it together with the help of my elementary aged kids in about 90 minutes. Despite being particle board, it has a pretty solid heft to it, and the veneer doesn't feel like it's in danger of coming loose. Overall happy with the purchase.

I wanted to give the cabinet 5 stars because it is pretty nice for the price BUT I am knocking 2 stars off because the cabinet doors have a 1†gap between them and the back pannel came damaged. I am only keeping it because we already assembled it, and taking it apart would be a hassle. It is going in my office and I can hide the damage with books or other decoration but the gap between the doors is quite annoying. If it were going somewhere more visible I would probably keep it because the flaws make it look cheap. I do like it though, other than those 2 flaws.

We bought two bookcases. The second bookcase went together very easily. It took us about 2 hours to assemble it. The first bookcase had a few assembly problems but when we assembled the second bookcase, we determined what the problem was in regard to the first one that we assembled. I would buy this product again. It looks beautiful. The doors go on easily and gives this bookcase a polished look.

Good looks, good value!

Like it very much. Clean, transitional styling, fits in well with both traditional and contemporary decor. Note: All shelf surfaces are made to mimick the rustic wood look that is on trend now. Not my style, but the thick white trim makes it less noticeable. Assembly mostly ok, directions clear, but had to make some slight modifications to 1 or 2 steps directed. Also, door hinges are difficult to adjust and, therefore, doors are not fitting as securely or as evenly as they should. No one really notices but me, but hinge hardware should be easier to adjust! Lastly, missing from product description: Back panel surface was designed to mimick beadboard — not quite the look I was after. Once shelves filled and accessorized, it’s not too noticeable. But, I think that should have been disclosed better in online photos and description. Overall, am very satisfied with purchase. Unit looks good, feels sturdy, and is functional. Good price for value!

Inconsistent quality great customer service from hayneedle

I purchased two of these and was completely satisfied after assembling the first one. It was sturdy, attractive, and easy to assemble (for an experienced handyman). HOWEVER, the second one was such a disappointment! Pieces were broken, holes did not align properly with hardware, the back had been cut badly and left very visible gaps on one side and could not be attached properly. We have Sauder furniture that has lasted beautifully for over 20 years and had hoped to experience the same quality with these purchases. Despite being "identical," the lack of quality control from overseas' production was evident. We're grateful that hayneedle handle our problem quickly and pleasantly. We're awaiting a replacement and will update our review at that time.

Solid design

We were a little septic when purchasing these online. Every piece of furniture we own has been purchased in a store. The main reason was stability and how solid a piece of furniture is made. We received these and picked up in our local store. These things had some weight to it. Instantly I knew we had a great product. It took us a little over an hour to assemble one. Looking through each piece we noticed it wasn't flimsy or weak like some others out there. Had easy instructions and gave us all the hardware. I just grabbed my hammer and screwdriver and was on my way to assembling a great bookshelf. I don't believe we will be needing to replace this anytime soon. Go get one, I know you will be happy

Very pleased

I purchased 2 of these bookcases for my daughters bedroom recently. I am so glad I did! They really are very nice looking for the price. The distressed wood shelves are attractive because they don't look like a bad fake sticker like application. You wouldn't know they were faux unless you touched them & even then have a different texture than the white pieces. The trim pieces to make the bookcase look high end are a nice touch also. Especially the white front pieces on the visible shelves.
