What happened to it

I purchased 2 solera awnings the larger on showed up with the box broken open in the middle and both ends so i refused the shipment that was almost 2 months ago. My return is still processing. If your looking for a larger awning I would beware .

Lippert Solera slider topper

The topper seems to be of fairly good quality yet the factory assembly to detail is poor in assembly. Installed as per instruction and with slider in the out extended position there is way to much tension so much it actually lifts the slide up about a full in. I had to remove topper un wind several turns off retract drum and reinstall. did that 5 times to a total of 12 Turns or rounds of tension release on 1st topper and 6 turns on my second slide. it is obvious the person at the factory cannot count when preloading recoil spring. Best I can tell is the pre load should be a maximun of 3 turns and it rotates slightly over 5 more when extended, on a close to 4ft slider. I dont know what factory say preload should be & they probably dont know either but this info should help if you experience same issue.

The slide topper is really nice and easy to install, BUT the manufacturer needs to include the proper installation instructions. The instructions provided must be for a different or previous model and misses a few extremely important steps. The online video is much better explaining how to install it. The only other complaint is the topper hardware was scratched when received. Looks like they put the slide roll into a protective plastic sleeve and then drag it across a concrete floor before putting it in the shipping tube. Happened on both units I ordered. Other than that, it does what I want and appears to be strong enough to last the life of the trailer.

Very upsetting to spend so

Very upsetting to spend so much on these slide toppers only to find out that none of them fit appropriately. Camping world installed them THEN pointed out each one was too short to cover the edges appropriately. We measured and ordered online as directed. Not sure what to do now.

I ordered the topper more

I ordered the topper more than 30 days ago, it has not yet arrived. Camping World says it is not their responsibility , because they are not the shipper . But I bought it from Camping World so it is there responsibility. Their customer service is terrible.

I ordered 2 of these awnings, one 12'6" and the other 7'6". I installed them by myself in about 3 hours. There are videos out there to give you an idea of how to do it. They were easy to install, look great, and will hopefully protect my slide boxes!
