This is a Speakman shower head and I purchased it based upon a review I read of how this model has a very strong water flow. Unfortunately, the only issue was that it is smaller in size in comparison to the 8 hole Speakman I already have in a Bronze color. This purchased one was in Chrome that I wanted to use in our condo but I felt it was too small looking to work with an escutcheon and tub spout of another brand whose shower head I didnt like. Instead my husband is going to use this 6 hole Speakman in another house abroad. I love Speakman shower heads though so I am sure this one is a winner, too.

Great Product! Highly Recommend! Price fluctuates on this, but I got it on sale for around $48. I wanted to get the 8 spray model S-2251, but it costs over $100 for 2 more spray heads. So I got this and took off the restrictor (search you tube) and I have the lever set in the middle where it sprays nice thick hot water and gives me a good massage. I think I spend less time in the shower because there's more water to clean all the soap off. Try it with the restrictor and with the black rubber off, and without the whole restrictor. I ordered another one for my other bath. It is better than the $30 Speakman models which are plastic. This one is Brass and heavy.

Best Shower Head I've Ever Owned

I have always bought decent shower heads. My most recent one was a Grohe, but I finally decided to buy a great shower head. My son told me about Spearman so I chose the S-2252 model to try. I couldn't believe the difference from my previous heads.....absolutely fabulous, like a gentle rain that is so relaxing....didn't want to get out! The 360 degree handle that varies the spray works very smoothly and delivers a wide variety of different water sprays. The big surprise came when my husband tried it. I didn't expect him to notice much difference, to him a shower head is a shower head and they are all pretty much the same. He came out of the shower raving about how good this one was. So glad I purchased this!!

[Rewarded Review] A great basic shower head + super easy to install

This Speakman Signature Brass Icon shower head is a great basic head for home use. We installed this in our MIL's garage apartment and she is quite pleased. The head is small and compact - nothing fancy. But it does have different spray degrees from a wide rain-like shower to stronger, more hard-hitting strength.

[Rewarded Review] Speakman S-2252-E2 Classy Showerhead

My first impression of the shower head was a pleasant surprise. The appearance is classy (expensive look). The finish seems flawless and the weight led me to think that it I durable. I was initially doubtful about it delivering on the 6 jet spray patterns & the flow rate because of the circumference of the showerhead surface. However, I was again pleasantly surprised. The streams were acceptable and seemed comparable to other showerheads that I used. Installation was a breeze! It took approximately 7-10 minutes to apply the plumber’s tape and to attach the showerhead. The handle moved easily to the various stream choices.

[Rewarded Review] Simple design, built well.

This small showerhead is solid and noticeably heavier than other models of similar size. Installation is extremely easy and the lever to adjust the spray is simple to use.

[Rewarded Review] A high quality shower head

The first thing I noticed when I removed it from the box was the heft of the product. Made from brass with a quality look and feel.

[Rewarded Review] Good quality, easy to use and looks great!

I was amazed at how heavy this shower head was right out of the box. I knew then it was going to be a good quality. This is not a cheaply made shower head. It was very easy to install and came with plumbing tape. The flow is very good and the handle makes for easy adjustments for different flow types. A tall person and a short person took a shower using the shower head and both agreed that it worked well for both of them. This is a very nice looking shower head as well.

[Rewarded Review] Excellent shower head

Received product as a Lowes Loop offer. This product was requested as a replacement for shower head in shower that is used daily. Installation is easy, The connection is not round but provides flattened areas for improved tightening with a crescent wrench. Wrench does not slip. Overall the quality of the shower head appears excellent. User indicated that the spray adjustment was easy to use and they were able to adjust to a setting easily. Spray spread and pressure were both good.

[Rewarded Review] Literally showers you with love

There is really nothing to say about installation, you screw it on like you would any shower head. The handle which adjusts the water flow even helps you grip it where you can tighten by hand instead of a wrench (They also include tape which is quite nice)

[Rewarded Review] Heavy-duty Shower Faucet

Faucet arrived double boxed and undamaged. First thing I noticed about the faucet when removing it from the box was that it was very heavy and solidly built. Instructions were included along with pipe thread tape. Installed easily in five minutes using a crescent wrench to remove the old faucet and install the new one. An adjustment knob on the faucet moves the six nozzles in and out to adjust the water stream. My water pressure was not sufficient with the nozzles adjusted fully out but it provided a nice water stream in other adjustment positions (see photos). I also took a photo of my old plastic faucet and the water stream it produced in comparison. Overall, I am happy with the new faucet and based on the rugged construction expect it will provide years of great service. This faucet was provided at no charge for testing purposes under the Lowes Loop program for truthful customer evaluation which I have provided.

After spending several hours researching the best shower head for low water pressure, I purchased this one. I installed it right out of the box, turned on the shower, and the water pressure was better, but still not what I wanted. I watched a YouTube video on how to remove the flow regulator, which was not difficult. I pulled out the aerator attached to the black rubber o-ring. Then I screwed in a screw to the flow regulator and used a plier to pull out the screw and the regulator came out with it. After reinstalling, the water pressure was even better! I have long hair, and finally it does not take forever to rinse out shampoo and conditioner. Also, the spray width is decent. I prefer a wide rain showerhead, but with low water pressure, that was not possible. The side lever spins around to adjust the spray force (not pattern). There are other shower heads I researched that would probably be more forceful, but their spray width was narrower. I just wish this was cheaper. I think it should be around $40.

I tested the showerhead as-is out of the box (flow restrictor in place) since some folks on here said they liked it as is, but the large majority on here seem to be removing the flow restrictor in the reviews I'm reading. After installing it as is, it was a little underwhelming as I predicted so I decided to remove the restrictor. Now this is where I made a mistake.

Just moved into a new apartment with an unfortunately small shower/tub combination in the bathroom. Tried two other highly recommend shower heads (one recommended for pressure, the other for pressure and water saving) but both offered too much blast for such a small area. Opted to try this one third. Seems solidly built, and very easy to install. But off the bad while the shower head works, the pressure was abysmal. Really worse than the old shower head my apartment came with. But I saw in other reviews here that people recommended removing the water flow restrictor, so I opted to try that. Man o man it makes a difference. Very good pressure now, and but not quite as overwhelming as the other shower heads I tried first. Also, people make it sound like you need to drill through the bit to get the restrictor out ,but it was much easier than that. I only used needle nosed pliers and a micro flat head screwdriver, that I use for electronics. Very easy to just pop it out with those.

I replaced a pair of Speakman Anystreams from 1994. Had rebuilt them twice, but the plating finally failed These new ones are just fantsatic- massive flow, control of the stream/pattern is great. Amazing build quality, weight, precision.... One **IMPORTANT** comment: REMOVE THE FLOW RESTRICTOR. Buy the cheapest one, and remove the restrictor- once the little plastic piece is removed they are al the same. So the 2.5 is the same as the California 1.75 once you remove these.... youtube has a few. Pretty easy. Where they screw onto the pipe you will see a wire mesh screen with a black rubber surround, reomve that. Then there will be a blue (or other color) plastic bit with a black oring insdie. Remvoe the oring. Then dig out the blue plastic bi. Ths will be hard, it tries to spin. You can damage it, there is nothing 'under' this. Break it if you want, I used a pick, scewdriver, xacto and hemostat to get it out. Some teflon tape, screw it on, done. Then I took a shower!

Short story: a fine shower head, just not better than any others in the $50-150 range. I live atop a hill and suffer from poor water pressure. After researching Home Essentials Direct reviews, Reddit, NextDoor, and other sites, I narrowed my options to this Speakman. The head itself has a comforting heft (i.e. it is metal, not plastic) and feels solid, especially compared to other heads I've tried. Installation was a breeze and they even provide you with a bit of Teflon tape. So far, so good. Unfortunately, once installed, the pressure isn't any better than any other head I've tried. My "scientific" tool for comparing pressure is to see how far water pushes out of the head before gravity takes over. Although technically inexact, it gives a fair way to compare what the water will feel like. The "best" Speakman setting was no better than the best on any other. FYI as I expected with a full-metal head: it's hard to adjust after installation. The head itself requires two hands to angle. The settings knob also took two hands. That's typical, based on prior experience and I only mention it so people aren't surprised. A more serious issue with the settings knob is that it doesn't have a lock or even a notch to give you a sense of when it reaches its maximum or minimum spray. As a practical matter, if you want to swap settings often, it means you have to jiggle back & forth a lot, which wastes water (as well as time). In the end, I'm returning this head because it doesn't actually improve my showering experience. Your mileage, however, will vary.

If you're like me, you reviewed several different brands and researched the different ways that showerheads boost shower pressure – using air, compression or whatever. You can stop your research now and just buy this showerhead. It turned our paltry dribbling shower into a heavenly showering revitalizing experience. This shower head is so good that when I went to Home Depot days after and saw someone looking at showerheads, I went over to recommend this one – I just couldn’t help myself. A couple things to quickly note – we have two bathrooms in our apartment and I replaced one with this shower head and one with the S-2252 model with 6 outputs and only 2.0 gallons per second. I also tested both with and without the water restrictor removed (pretty straightforward process to remove the restrictor and you can also find how-to’s on YouTube). You should know that once the water restrictor is removed, it’s gone for good so it’s worth testing without removing in case removing it would be overkill for your liking. The S-2252 increased the water pressure a good amount with the restrictor still in, but it performed like a champ once the restrictor was removed. Without the restrictor, the S-2252 is better than the S-2251 (this model) with the restrictor still in. Once you remove the restrictor from this model, it outperforms the S-2252 due to coverage of the 8 outputs. Luckily, our small children use the second bathroom so the lesser coverage is not an issue for them and the S-2252 is half the cost. I did not find that the 2.5 gallons per minute provided much more pressure than the 2 gallons per minute but I guess it would have more of an impact on the water drop setting where it’s less pressure but more water for rinsing out hair. The one caveat I have for my “buy now” rating is that the shower head is not that flexible. It can flex enough for our needs and for the 45 degree angle pipe from which our showerhead connects, but if you need something that can point to all areas of your shower or the pipe comes out in a way where you need the showerhead to point straight down, there’s a chance this isn’t a good fit. Other than that, “buy now”.
