Cole & Mason Derwent Pepper Mill

We loved our first one, but unfortunately it broke. So we ordered a new one. The new one seems very difficult to operate. It does not want to turn as smoothly as our first one did. It's a struggle to use it at times! Somewhat disappointed.......

Modern and High Quality

Really high quality pepper grinder with a decent pepper included. I'm excited to be able to refill it with various pepper blends. It should last a long time. It's also sleek and modern, very attractive on my countertop.

Too soon to say how long it will last, but so far it is working perfectly. My previous C&M salt mill stopped working after about 4 years (it had a plastic grinder which seemed to wear out). This new model has a ceramic mechanism, so hopefully will last much longer.

Third time’s the charm

I have bought 2 other pepper grinders (OXO and Penzeys) that fail to give the range of grinds and coarseness that I want. This one is great. Adjusts and fills easily. Attractive too.

The one I’ve been searching for a long time.

I bought two a month ago. Originally I was buying a gift for my friend. I love the style and comfortable to use. Then it reminded me that I also need one for myself that I’ve been looking for a long time. My friend is also so happy and loves it so much.

We had ordered the pepper mill & the salt mill for ourselves in August 2021. We love them!! They seem to be of high quality. Love that they're easy to refill & its easy to adjust the coarseness of the grinds. Also, we noticed the pepper mill being used in an upscale restaurant & also saw it being used on TV. We use ours every single day & couldn't be more pleased. We decided to give a set to our daughter for Christmas & she loves them already!

Very good pepper grinder

I have used this pepper grinder for maybe 7 or 8 years and was very happy with it. I liked the discreet clickable grind sizes and the fact that I didn't have to keep adjusting the tightness of the knob on the top of the grinder like I did with the Peugeot Paris pepper grinder. My Cole & Mason finally stopped grinding properly and there is no way to take it apart and clean it. Cole & Mason replaced it under warranty even though I no longer had my receipt. Since I didn't have a receipt I had to pay shipping to send my old one to Cole & Mason but I am happy with their customer support. The Peugeot Paris grinder grinds a little more consistently with less variability in grind size but I prefer the Cole & Mason for the convenience of easy fill and no screw top adjustment.

Pepper Mill

This was a warranty replacement for another that had been purchased several years ago. The old one just didn't work efficiently and was about to be scraped when I ran across the warranty. I filled it out, returned the old one and received this one. What a wonderful difference! I love the fully adjustable grind and how quickly it grinds the needed amount of pepper. Even more important, they stood behind the warranty.

Judge Electric Mini Chopper SKU: JEA75 Very disappointing.

I don't normall write reviews of poor products, but I am so disapointed with this, particularly because I have bought Judge products for years with total satisfaction. My old plastic hand onion chopper disintegrated and Iwhile shopping for christmas gifts, I thought I would trweat myself to a freplacement. I saw the Judge one but I think it was out of stock - anyway, for some reason I got this instead at around the samae price and it is useless. It is actually a tiny food processor, but without the slicing and shredding plates . The rotating blades only chop the bottom 2 cm of the bowl, cutting onion or cabbage into tiny grains which cook to puree while leaving two thirds of the veg. in the original chunks. Even chopping quite small by hand (which rather destroys the point of the gadget) doesn't result in an even result.

I have purchased pepper mill following recommendations from friends and online. Adjustable, 7-level grinding enables use of this grinder for various needs. Easy to adjust and grind. You need to pull the top to refill. While popping out, be careful, as you may spill some of the pepper corns, if there is some in the housing area. Delivery was not perfect. When it arrived, top cap was off and pepper corns were spread all over the package.

Since the quarantine, my husband and I have been cooking meals every day. So I began catching up on American Test Kitchen episodes on YouTube. This pepper mill won their rigorous ATK test. It’s been a great investment to our kitchen pantry. I often used ground pepper but it often just made our food “hot”, so it was not an ingredient I used often. After viewing the episode, I now understood why salt & pepper are an essential Spice to kitchen pantry’s. Take your food to the next level of goodness, make the investment. Especially since you are able to decide how fine or course you want the peppercorn to grind.

Works Very Well

I bought this based on the recent Cook's Illustrated review that ranked it best of the ones they tested. I've used the highly rated Unicorn for many years and always liked it except for the minor issues noted in Cook's. The adjustable grind mechanism on the Cole and Mason works very well, and I am pleased with the consistency of the grinds on all settings. It fits well in my hands, looks very nice on the table, and is well built. I bought it 2 weeks before it went on sale for $29.99 briefly. Figures. But for $39.99, it is an excellent grinder for the money.

Too good to be Just a Gift

Over 5 years ago, I gave the Gourmet Pepper Mill grinder to a friend as a gift. Ever since then, when I dine with my friend, I am reminded of how wonderful the grinder works. Due to the price I have delayed buying one for myself. Well today was the day. I purchased both the Salt and Pepper Gourmet Mills for myself from a local store. Yes, I am worth it and I have saved my money to get both of them. They work great ... as expected. My only regret is that I did not purchase both of them years ago, before I retired.

I am very pleased with the Cole & Mason Derwent Pepper Mill. It's made of brushed, stainless steel and has a real sleek design. It comes filled with peppercorns so it's ready to use. With just a couple of turns, you have ground pepper for all your food.

High quality and elegant look

I am impressed with my Cole & Mason Derwent pepper mill! Its perfect! Not only does it work great but it's very attractive on my kitchen counter and my table, too. No matter what you're cooking, it is always better to have fresh ground pepper as it gives that powerful flavor and aroma that you can't get from pre-ground pepper. This pepper mill is made of good, solid quality material. I like metal better than ceramic because metal is more durable and less prone to dulling. It is very easy to fill and use and allows for a range of coarseness. You can set the coarseness you want by twisting the bottom section of the mill, with each setting producing a uniform grind. I love the modern and sleek design of the this pepper mill! It perfectly fits our contemporary home interior and I'm enjoying the heck out of this beauty. Definitely recommended!
