Excellent Humidor

Definitely an excellent humidor . Once it's seasoned and add the Boveda packs the X Boveda 500 will keep your cigars fresh and ready . Be sure to season and enjoy the great function of this great Humidor .

Not what I expected for the price tag

Great looking humidor, but packed with flaws. The peg storage system is poor at best. I had to sand all my pegs to get them to seat correctly. The unit struggles to hold humidity. I have gone through LITERALLY hundreds of dollars worth of Boveda in a year. Every time the unit cools it rips humidty out. So much you can watch digital hygrometers drop 10+ Rh. Contacted customer service and their advice was to try using something other than Boveda like water in this Boveda co-branded humidor AND to try to raise the internal temperature of the unit. Why would I want to store my cigars at or above the temperature I keep my house at? Aesthetically pleasing, but functionally flawed.

Terrible at keeping humidity levels constant

I've had mine since they were released and it is a nightmare to keep humidity levels in check when it's plugged in. I have 4 boveda bricks and 4-5 smaller packs in there at all times and still can't keep humidity above 60. I'm even running 84% seasoning packs at times and they will be dried out in no time

Absolute Junk

Arrived damaged. Humidity plunges when unit is plugged in. Do not even think about buying this.

Item failed and it cost me to replace it

The unit worked OK, but after 3 months, the humidity dipped below 53*. I thought the Bóveda packs needed replacing. That did not work so I reached out to Newair. They suggested I put distilled water in it. That did not work. After multiple emails, photos, cutting off the cord, a 2 week process, they agreed to replace the unit but with a fee of $65.00 for shipping. Buyer beware and read the warranty, I don’t consider this standing behind your product. Home Depot may want to look into this vendor

Item was shipped from one Home Depot store to my local store. I picked item up, unpacked and plugged it in only to find that the front digital thermometer readout was missing. A cigar tray inside the unit was broken in pieces as well. I returned it immediately.

Best humidor I’ve ever owned. I don’t use the slots for above da packs due to their high costs but use a small container with gel beads and polyethylene glycol. The circulating fan keeps the humidity constant. Cigars are always fresh and ready to smoke. In the Southern heat this keeps them cool and protected. Now I have three old desk top types that are empty.

Mixed feelings

You gotta give NewAir credit for thinking outside the box with the NewAir x Boveda 500 Count Electric Cigar Humidor, offering a more polished take on the makeshift wineador by offloading the humidification portion to Boveda and the brand's beloved two-way humidity packs. However, an alternative take could see this as something of a solution in search of a problem, being too expensive for Joe Sixpack yet lacking the premium accoutrements (humidification, heating, ball-bearing shelf slides) that might help justify shelling out nearly a grand. If you fall in between these two camps-perhaps you want the aesthetic of a polished humidor in your personal lounge and don't want to fuss with the DIY or have a need for heating or self-regulating humidification-then this may be for you.

Major upgrade!

Stunning humidor! It was packaged great and arrived in perfect condition. I LOVE the integrated Bodeva storage and storage spaces. It might be tight to keep boxes in but that is no problem for me!

I had this unit for a month. Temperature is set at 70, with a couple of Boveda humidity bags set for 70% humidity. Seems to be working fine.

I am happy with this purchase. It was packaged well, and even arrived a day early. After seasoning the humidor, I did put a Xikar hygrometer in it, because this unit does not have one. It does have temperature control, and a cool light. I live in Michigan, and sometimes my home is around 60 degrees. My temperature on the humidor is holding well at 70.

First off, phenomenal humidor. Literally everything just the way I’d want it to be having previously owned the 250 count NewAir with the heat/cool features. This is a solid upgrade, especially if you want to age some of your favorite higher end sticks. After almost two months, there’s only one small catch, the “heating element” isn’t on par with the 250 class humidor which has a separate dedicated heating element - you can literally heat to 72-74 degrees with the 250 class unit. This unit has an element that recycles the heat from the fans and other components to heat the humidor, a setting of 72 for example, in Indiana right now - winter time - will keep the humidor around 68 (we keep our house at 66).

The best you can get!

SO GOOD. This is easily the best humidor you can buy. It's obviously larger than a desktop wooden humidor, and is about the size of a wine cooler. But for its size, it holds a lot of cigars. I love the cedar racks and Boveda inserts. It holds a consistent temperature, and it circulates the air, which is ideal for humidifying cigars. Pound for pound, this is easily the best you can buy for the money. Highly recommended!

Boveda and Newair, Yes, Please!

Love this Humidor. The unit itself is top quality. I love the space for the Boveda packets and plenty of storage for my cigar collection. If you're looking to up your cigar game, look no further!

Love all my Newair humidors

I have had 2 other humidors by Newair making this one my third. And like the rest, the are exceptional all holding humidity and temperature. I really like the small storage shelf on the bottom for whatever you want to put in there. Cigar, cutters, etc. The peg system is pretty cool and makes it stand out from the other humidors on the market. However, the pegs themselves are a bit difficult to install. Some sand paper will do the trick though. The motor inside is nice and quiet and I like the new lock setting feature. All in all, this is another humidor from Newair and Boveda that's worth having.

Great Collaboration from two great brands!

This collaboration offers a great storage solution for hobbyists. I really enjoy the sleek look, the Boveda pack holders, and the touch screen display. The cooling system is really quiet, which is a plus! Theres plenty of storage to not only store singles, but boxes as well. I think the pegging system was a great idea for customization, but the pegs themselves were a little difficult to install.

Perfect Collaboration with only a few minor quirks.

It's very easy to see why the cigar community was anxiously awaiting the release of the collaboration between two of the most trusted names in the cigar community. The Newair x Boveda NCH500BS00 is a world class humidor and the first of its kind. I love Boveda packs as they offer the absolute most ease-of-use for any humidity option on the market. Add them, and check them every so often for dryness. Replace when dry. It doesn't get easier than that. Marry that up with the superior build quality that Newair is known for and you easily have one of the best humidors on the market. I love that Newair has been so invested in not only temperature control, but also humidity control where they are constantly stepping their game up. Look, your cigars are an investment. Don't skimp and make sure you protect them.

It's perfect!

I am loving my humidor. It's cool they did the collar with Boveda to ensure the best humidity environment for the cigars. This humidor has lots of storage shelves which helps keep everything organized. The design and quality are excellent. This is my 3rd Newair and I absolutely love them all!

Definitely needs to be seasoned. Poor customer service

I purchase the brand new 500 Count Boveda humidor and called customer service for help. We got disconnected and no call back even though I registered the product and they had my callback info. Every ad I saw and even in the owners manual that came with the humidor said "no seasoning necessary" the humidor is NOT ready to go as the manual and advertising stated. When I called the customer service rep said you DO have to wipe the shelves down with distilled water and season the humidor. I'm an avid cigar smoker and know the importance of seasoning. I knew it was too good to be true. I waited for months for this to come out and disappointed in the overall product and advertising.
