Great for what it is used for!

Blades are nice and sharp. Does a good job for its intended use. The only downfall is that the bottom plastic container, does not stay attached to the grater very well for storage.

Solid and sharp

Nice and sharp. Appears well made. Hard to clean and main-use blades are rather small so it takes longer to grate items but the positive is it's super sharp. Rubber base is unnecessary and annoying to remove and reposition each wash.

Simple innovations that make the difference

It might just be a cheese grater, but the rubber base around the bottom makes it so much easier to grate cheese directly onto a plate without it slipping around. It can be removed for cleaning as well.

Solid grater with excellent grip

Solid grater with excellent grip. 5 stars for this. Where it loses a star is for the plastic box underneath- The box underneath is a bit of an odd shape and makes it slightly unwieldy but it doesn’t need to be used to get full functionality out of the grater. It’s probably better used on a chopping board or big flat plate. Also if you can keep track of the lid to the box, it’s handy for storing leftovers.

pretty happy with this grater seems solid and well made. slightly harder to clean as the plastic handle is quite chunky and blocks access from the inside top, however can clean from below. so it seems a minor issue all considered.....

Cheese Goes Everywhere

This is a poorly designed grater. The cheese does not fall into the transparent plastic compartment, it goes just about everywhere else! This makes it very difficult to collect the cheese once you have grated it. It's otherwise fairly sturdy, but I'm disappointed from the OXO brand.

I thought the clear box to catch the grated cheese was brill but I was wrong. The addition adds too much to the height, making grating cheese awkward and difficult. It's not worth the extra money. Stick to the traditional cheese grater.

Nice sharp grater

Nice and sharp grater. Handy little collection box that can be attached to the bootom. Also has a plastic slide to just block ot off so you can grate without content coming out. Stays still and does not move around or flex when grating which is good.

Utterly disappointed

I thought OXO was a good company so was happy to spend (at that point) an expensive £25 on this. The large grater, small grater, and slicer are SO dull that you have to push really hard to grate anything. They are so dull, I can run my hand down them with pressure, and feel nothing. There is no sharpened edge to any of the blades - it just relies on a large amount of user force. This is dangerous. The rest of the design is stable and well made. If the blades were sharp, this would be a great grater. Instead it's dumped. Gutted, waste of money - avoid.

Disappointing

Maybe it's me, but I thought this grater was a waste of time. Sturdily made, but when grating cheese, too much cheese fell outside the grater rather than inside the box, And there was a lot of cheese left stuck in the tiny holes - not a problem I'd had with other graters. So mystified as to why it gets such good reviews

High quality grater that I believe will last a long time. Has an ergonomic handle this is convenient and easy on the hands to use. The bottom is rubbery and doesn't slide around easily. I like OXO, you can tell they put thought into the design of their products. The storage container is convenient for small amounts of things but if you're going to town on a whole block of cheese then it's not that helpful.

An ok grater but

The ergonomically designed handle and non slip base are good especially if your grip is weak however unless the rubber base is removed, washing-up water collects behind it and doesn't dry out quickly and the rubber base is a bit fiddly to replace. Also do you really need another plastic container to store/wash/lose at the back of the cupboard? How often do you really need to measure grated ingredients? Surely it's ok to grate onto a chopping board or plate?

Good box grater

OXO has the best customer service ever!! The plastic cup at the bottom of the box grater had broken less than a year after we purchased it. OXO replaced the entire box grater and we are back in action.

Strudy and does decent grating job for most tasks.

Grates reasonably well, is large enough to scrap in the inside with a knife or small spatula to get the remaining gratings. The small container for catching works well and is sturdy enough when used on the kitchen counter. The smallest grating size seems too small in my opinion, I don't see too many things that would use this side of the grater.

makes my old grater look like a fisher price toy

The quality is this grater is amazing. i assumed all graters were more or less the same before i bought this but wow was i wrong! My old grater is like a fisher price toy compared to the Oxo grater. This one is so much nicer with features I didn’t even know I was missing until now.

Great quality grater

Pros: Nice and sturdy, has a great rubber handle for grip. Great quality steel, and super easy to clean. The box catcher comes with a lid, which is really convenient, to save leftover food in.

High quality grater!

We've had this grater for a few years and I recently bought it as a gift for someone. It works perfectly, and also works for food other than cheese (e.g. apples, carrots). I don't use the small plastic container it comes with because usually I grate more than it would hold, but it's a nice little extra. It is very sturdy and easy to use. I'd recommend it!

Sturdy and well made

Really nice and sturdy grater - was a great replacement for the flimsier one we had at home. The rubber base grounds it and prevents it from slipping if you're grating directly onto a chopping board, and the handle is equally sturdy. I love the container that catches the grated content, but I do wish there was a more practical way to store the lid - a bit worried that it will get lost, as it doesn't clip in to the larger design in the same way that the container does.

Perfect

Sturdy, ergonomic, 4 sizes, and bonus little container! Rubber bottom is handy. They really thought of everything! Have had mine for over 6 years, still like new (I hand-wash my dishes in case that matters). Liked mine so much I bought a second for my BF when his flimsy dollar store graters fell apart. He’s hard on his graters (and uses dishwasher) but his is still like new too!
