mean machine takes some effort

Great as a grinder. Better than most. however only mid grade as the tube's and instructions lack. takes some basic knowledge and expirementing. overall worth it.

MEAT EATER

.5 HO chewed through 3 pork butts for brats with ease. Love it. Only thing I wish was to step up to the 1 HP for the bigger throat feeding the auger.

No longer on the fence

I live in Little Rock Arkansas. I purshed this grinder so I could grind my own beef. The machine has quality parts and is very easy to use I wish I had purchased this years ago. No more mystery ground beef from the grocery store. I am going to recommend this to my friends.

Bought 1/2HP dual grind, received 3/4HP manual.

While I bought the 1/2 HP dual grind MEAT grinder I received the book/operator manual for the 3/4 HP single grind MEAT grinder. This left me uncertain on how to set up and use the grinder. So I set it up the best I could figure out. I made Turkey Boudin and the grinder seemed to struggle cutting the cooked Turkey breast. After I made Kielbasa and the grinder struggled again. I had to do a lot of searching on the internet (there is not much information on a MEAT dual grinder) and realized the cutting blade was installed backwards so the back side of the cutting blades were doing the cutting (mushing). It would be nice if it was set up correctly when it was delivered and also it would be GREAT if the proper 1/2 HP manual was sent instead of the 3/4 HP manual that had nothing to do with the grinder I bought. I still do not know if it works well because after the first two times struggling I have not made anything else with it. I still do not know how to set up the grinder correctly!

Worth the money.

Processed over 25lbs of deer trimmings and 18lbs ground beef in a fraction of the time of my old grinder. Having the double grind saves a time of time.

Buy the 1 Hp

Did not like the .5 hp grinder at all. Had to use the plunger to force everything through. Dual grinder is a joke.

Good Equipment, long delivery time.

The equipment is great as expected. The excessively long delivery time and poor customer service was unexpected .

Meat grinder

Great product at a great price. Came packaged perfectly for my sons wedding!!!

What a well built machine. I bought the grinder because I wanted to make sausage. I was using a stand mixer with a meat grinder attachment. It struggled with also everything I wanted to grind (mostly pork and beef) it also was slow and I had to grind the meat twice, once with the large screen and then with the smaller screen. It would often clog and I would need to stop, clear the clog and wait while the meat was chilled again. This .5 horse dual grinder is the solution I needed. It is very well built and it ground the meat as fast as I could load it. What a time saver. It comes with plates (screens), 3 different size sausage tubes and a nice beefy power cord. It is simple to set it up but chilling all the components is critical if you want a good grind. I put all the grinding components in the freezer for about 45 minutes before the grind along with the meat. When grinding meat cold is your friend for the best grinding results. If your on the fence about buying this unit, take the plunge and enjoy the free time you have because you will only be grinding the meat once.

Bought this as a gift for my dad who usually pays to have his deer processed. He has used it multiple times and said it works great and flies through the meat. Customer service was amazing as well, which is not typical but much appreciated!

Pretty Impresed for .5hp

I got this back in December and have done a number of grinds with it. Build quality seems good to very good. The parts seem like they will last. I'm impressed with the speed that I can get through a pile of meat. I did a 25lb batch of venison and pork mix last weekend and it was just about what I could keep up with, loading with one hand and keeping the grind pile moved back with the other. If you're eventually going to get the big mixer, consider the 1.5hp just because of the compatibility with it. I feel like I'll eventually end up with one of those anyway.
