Smaller than expected

I purchased these to give to a friend who has limited use of his arms and hands. I thought that the flat edge would make it easier for him to scoop food like rice, peas, etc. The handles are shorter than I expected, so I'm not sure it this would work. Other than that, it's a nice spoon.

They were a gift along with an ice creamer and they got here at the expected time and were the perfect finishing touch!

Painted handle.

I like the spoons, and, more important, my wife likes them. I was, however, a bit disappointed when I found the handles were only painted. We are FIESTA WARE collectors and the spoons looked like they would match. They do color-wise but if they had plastic handles they would have matched better and I would have been evan happier...
