Heavy Cork Screw

Too heavy, bulky, and awkward. I’ll keep it but I would have preferred something different as I find it difficult to get the screw down into the cork. I’m starting to really prefer screw tops.

The corkscrew seems great until the middle screw fell out. Oxo replaced it for me.

OXO good grip cork screw

Only lasted a short time then bit of plastic sheared off and opening bottles became a real struggle. Will contact John Lewis to try arrange refund but may be out of accepted time to return. Pricey cork screw to only last for around 6 weeks !

Corkscrew defect

This was a warranty replacement, and the 2nd time the steel? pin holding the corkscrew itself to the frame sheared off in normal use. Clearly a defect in design or manufacturing.

Good products back with pride

This is my second one, the first one broke after opening 100s of bottles and you stood by your product and replaced it free of charge! Now that’s how a company should operate. I have purchased many an Oxo products and have always been pleased. I’m in for life and thank you again for doing what you do and so well.

This product was so durable and lasted me app. 10 years until something snapped. As soon as I notified oxo, they were so accommodating and replaced it right away!

Very good wine opener

Much better than its predecessor, which broke and blooded my thumb. Hopefully this one does not have cheap pot metal in. It works rather well.

Works Well Until . .

The design is basically good and looks stylish, but the grip body is plastic and mine has 'hairline' split up toward the top while opening a Beaujolais (with slightly narrower glass bottle neck forcing the two legs apart?) . This means the plastic body now slides down most bottles rather than extracting the cork and needs three hands to work! Shame because it was nice to use initially. When I bought mine from JL there was no lifetime guarantee.

Great Company

My wine cork opener was replaced by the company with no issues. I purchased it from Bed Bath & Beyond before they went belly up. It stopped working and the company replaced it with me just sending pics of it. Best customer service hands down!

have had many corkscrews over the years, this one is easy to use and works well with difficult corks. looks stylish and has a foil cutter. so far i am pleased

Great corkscrew

Bought as a gift for a wine lover friend. Liked the look of it & liked the built in foil cutter. A JL partner assured me that all OXO products are good! I would agree & this comes with a lifetime guarantee. It reminds of Alessie but at an affordable price. I'm sure it will be well used!

Good, solid piece of kit.

I bought two of these at Christmas - one as a gift and one for home. They are a bit more expensive than some makes but are solid enough to go the distance. Although the design is not new, it's well tested and makes removing corks an easy task. The cork comes out cleanly with no annoying bits breaking off and ending up in the bottle! All in all, a good purchase!

For the man who has everything!

Bought this as a gift for a male friend who enjoys wine. Liked the look of the corkscrew - reminds me of Alessi but without the hefty price. A JL partner assured me that anything made by OXO is good & I am inclined to agree. It is good looking & sturdily made ( comes with guarantee). Like how it stands on its own. Has a removable foil cutter in the base which is an added bonus. Hopefully it will last well & open many bottles.

Oxo good grips corkscrew

This is brilliant for people with arthritis . It is easy to use and works really well in comparison to all steel corkscrews as the grip is better . However , Oxo products are so very expensive and I don't know how they justify the prices . Similarly , their pop top storage containers are wonderful but the prices are very high .

Easy to use and very smooth

We've had a rabbit-style bottle opener for many years and they always give up the gist eventually. This is much easier to use and has a smoother mechanism. We also love the handy foil cutter that doubles as a stand - a really nice design feature. It is something a bit difficult to get the cork off the screw once you've used it but not too hard. I think this will be our corkscrew model from now on!

Nice and sturdy but the plastic worm seems to be a bit flimsy....I rely on OXO for quality
