Slippery when Wet

Use a towel or somthing to keep your hands dry especially to get out of the bath or shower. This is a great product it was easy to assemble. The Swiveling handle bar is very help as you manuver in and out of the bath/Shower. I am thankful this product was made. I opted not to use the nails and the steadfastness is just fine 👌. It makes me feel very supported to use a bath step, suction bath handle and this bar to get inside and outside of a very steep bath tub

HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TRANFER POLE!

I highly recommend this transfer poles for anyone who needs a transfer pole or just the extra security of having of something to hold onto or lean on when you're transferring because you're a These transfer poles are adjustable too! You can move the grab bar to either side or the back if it's in the way of your view of the TV or to see someone across the room, after using it. Just pull the knob out towards you, put the grab bar where you want it, let go of the knob, and it locks into place! Also, having something to grab onto low and higher up as well, comes in handy more than you'd think! It's like having multiple transfer poles in one because it has so many options! You can also grab onto the upright pole itself, as well as the top, middle, and bottom of the "S" shape! And there's "no tools" to buy to install it because it comes with a huge wrench, made specifically just for these poles! It's quick %26 easy to move and take it down too!

Security Pole

Found these about 3 1/2 years ago after my wife suffered a stroke. These polw are great you can put them in most places, and they have made our life easier. We also take one on trips so we can use it where we stay. I have now purchased 8 of this product. They are very easy to install and take apart.

Great product!

This security pole is very sturdy and requires holes to be drilled in the ceiling/joists.

solid, safe, does what you need.

really heavily built. can and should be screwed into the floor and ceiling. I did not expect that from the description. i haven't screwed it in. the compression ability is excellent, and it functions for me perfectly. just broke my Femur, and getting into and off my couch would be impossible without the stander. i am planning to buy a second for use in the bathroom. i had a lnee replacement in the same leg, and the extra measure of safety is worth the price. it is heavily made and solidly constructed.

Transfer pole

Just received. Took less than ten minutes to assemble and install. Seems heavy duty. Holds tight to ceiling and floor, even when I tested it (+250 lbs). Might be better if grab bar could be adjusted up and down.

I was searching for a grab bar for my tub on youtube. I wasn't having any luck just doing a Google search and thought that a youtube video would have more information.

Tension pole, not permanent mount, can be moved.

It was quickly and easily installed. My 91 yr old legally blind mother in law had difficulty getting out of her bathtub. She could not get from sitting on the side of her tub to a standing position and needed something to grab to help her pull herself up. This has fit the need perfectly. It was placed exactly where her reach needed it. She is safer and can out of the tub by herself now.

These poles with curved 45-degree indexable handles are just the ticket for helping elderly individuals continue to be self reliant. Pairs of these work great to help elderly individuals sit/stand at sinks, beds, toilets, and chairs that are routinely utilized by them during 24/7 care. The poles also facilitate showering/bathing individuals by allowing them to hang on to a pair of the poles that are located outside a tub or shower if you place a standard shower curtain between the shower pan or tub and the handles and let the individual grab the curved handle with the shower curtain in their hand, too. This keeps all water on the tub or shower side. I utilize the poles/handles to prevent an individual from falling backwards while at a sink while they wash up or they brush their teeth. Highly recommend them for these purposes.

My husband bought this pole for me to use getting in and out of our stand-alone bathtub. As a 76 year old woman with limited dexterity, it gave me back my ability to safely use the tub. Prior to getting it I had resigned myself to only using the shower. You need some arm strength to pull yourself up using the grab bar. Additionally, I use the loops on the pole to drape my towels. The grab bar is very stable. Another advantage is that the pole looks very natural and not like a medical apparatus. (Also, my husband had no difficulty installing the pole.) The bar is totally moveable, so if one spot doesn't suit you, you can easily move it the the appropriate location. We had tried the "stick-on" grab bars initially, but this pole is far superior.

I ordered an extra one by mistake

This item is strong enough to hold a man over 250 pounds. I have two crush fractures in my feet. I cannot put weight on my feet . I also have lost my balance in both feet. I mounted my pole right outside of my shower. I can grab the pole when I exit the shower preventing a fall. This item was recommended by an Occupational Therapist . It also can be used next to the bed so that you can balance yourself without falling. Since no one knows about these items the recommendation was given to me from an occupational therapist I don't know if you can send them the advertisement to a foundation of Occupational Therapist that would certainly help you get the sales. I am sure that Medicare wound pay for this item , and in addition they only coast $ 185 . I live in a retirement home in Lemoyne Pennsylvania . I am sure that the seniors that live here would be so grateful to have this item. Also it can be used for getting in and out of bed without falling. I am only 66 years old but I have one in my bathroom and in my bathroom. My mother is 91 and she sustained a serious fall in her kitchen and she cannot yet use the shower but sh is looking forward to having the item and then she can use it to prevent the item to prevent more falls from this point on. Also you can see a small rubber white knob in the center of the pole below the curved areas , you can pull out that knob and then you can turn the curved areas twice for every 1/4 turn and lock the curved areas .

5 stars for ease of installation and sturdiness. But 1 star for hand grip. It’s ok getting into tub, tho piping is a little larger diameter than I’d like, but getting out of the tub with wet hands is impossible to get a grip on it. I will be wrapping it with something to hopefully help with that. 5 stars for providing an alternative to attaching handgrips to the wall. We have nowhere to do that. Sliding pocket door goes in wall behind end of tub stall-no 2x4 in there.. So the pole is brilliant. Our bathroom is small and the pole seems big but doesn’t really take up much horizontal space.

This is essential if you have any balance problems

I got one for my bathroom, helps me get up from the toilet and I can turn the grab bar to help in the shower. Also one next to my bed to help me get up and get dressed.

It is like having a second caregiver in the house!

I purchased 2 "Security Poles with Curve Grab Bars" (one for the bathroom and one for the bedroom.) My mother depended on her walker to move around the house until she fell and broke her dominant wrist. She lost all sense of balance, was unable to get up and down, walk, and care for herself. It took two people to help with her personal needs; one to support her and one to take care of her needs. She lost all of her independence overnight! After a week and a half the Home Health Therapist came to evaluate her mobility and recommended your product. It is a godsend!! She can now support herself while I care for her personal needs. It also works as a great transport from bed and bath to the wheelchair. It is saving my back and knees as well. Thank you!

Wags 2" back and forth in the middle -- not safe to use. Returned. Installed on 8' ceiling. The defect is the failure of manufacturer to install a lower internal holder for the threaded rod. This rod fits tight at top but is very loose at the bottom, so the pole wags and is not stable enough to be safe.

Lifesaver, Backsaver, Peace of Mind

Have on bedside as well as 1 in each bathroom...total of 3. I installed myself as my husband and has a TBI followed by 2 strokes. With this bar he can use his arms to pull up, hang on when standing because he feels like he is going to fall. When he uses the toilet I am less nervous because he is holding on to his bar and I know it is keeping him steady. It arrived quickly, the box was in perfect condition. Didn't need any help to install and we have 10 foot ceilings, so I used the extender. The wrench is great and easily adjusts the tension between the floor to the ceiling. Thank you for providing a measure of safety in our home, it has been stressful.

Really Like It So Far

The unit was easy to assemble. Went up easily as well. We likely will buy another one so we have one for the shower area and one for the toilet area. Certainly beats having to remove sheetrock to install extra studs and then replacing the rock and adding bars tot he wall. Minutes of work versus hours.

Very clever and well-designed.

I have arthritic knees and I'm using the bar to help me get off my recumbent exercise bike. It looks as good as such a thing might, the same color as my bike frame, and it's easy to assemble and place wherever I need it. The lockable curved grips are a great concept. Instructions were quite clear and most parts were labeled. Only two issues - the box was missing the extender pole (hence the four stars) but I don't need it for this ceiling. And the cotter pins sent were not the type you bend, they are more like super-heavy bobbypins. Since the instructions assumed the split type, it was a little confusing. The screws and pins are good, and the kit even included a wrench for tightening the shaft. The floor and ceiling pieces both have white rubber pads, and the i-shaped ceiling piece is surprisingly wide, enough to assure that it will not break the ceiling.
