I bought this to mount a 32" security camera monitor at work. It shipped fast and worked great! All I needed was my drill and stud finder, everything else came in the box. I mounted it directly to a wall stud to be sure it wouldn't pull off the wall. I'm sure it could be mounted other ways using the proper anchors but I don't trust my drywall that much.

I don't know if the set screw in question is faulty in other units, no one else has complained about this. I had to prop a piece of cardboard between the monitor and the wall to keep it perpendicular.

In this price range you won't find much better. This works for a monitor or a tv and it has a side/side range of motion meaning you can move it left or right and then move the "head" of it left or right again. Very versatile little mount. It's sturdy but still more lightweight but it holds a flat screen tv really well. I used this for the Grandkids play room and it suits my purpose quite well and was very easy to install.. the directions were clear but we didn't even need them. 4 stars!

I was torn between 3 -4 stars First, it does not have much articulation, but cant knock product for that, as that is what it is designed for... its built pretty good considering the comeptitive price point... I tried some heavier dispalys on it, up to weight limit of 33 lbs...and I wouldnt suggest this, its a bit heavy for the mount...but a smaller 15 lb display performs well...so IMO, dont push the weight limit, and you have a very cost effective wall mount... I have used all these through the years, u get what you pay for.... more articulation, more cost more weight bearing, more cost... further reach, even more cost, etc. this unit does the minimums, hence the price, but sometimes that is all you need!

This wall mount monitor arm is sturdy and does a good job putting the television in an area that allows it to be easily seen while working on our desktop PC or relaxing on the futon. I had no problems attaching it to my television, but my husband used additional hardware to secure it to the paneled walls on the lower level of our mid-century tri-level (they are the fiberboard paneling common in this era). We are happy with the installation.

Yes, this product does what it claims and it is durable and made of sturdy, heavy materials. But it is a lot smaller than I had expected. The arm is only about 4-6 inches long, and I'm at a loss for how it would be useful/necessary in any situation. I got it for a simple install of a small touchscreen in my bathroom, but now that it's installed I find the direction of swing awkward. If you want the screen centered in a specific location on the wall, then it will be un-centered when it swings out. Likewise, if you want it centered when it swings out, it will be un-centered when on the wall. I am going to replace this with a mount that keeps my screen centered. OCD problems . . .

Used this item to mount a Viewsonic VX924 6.7 kg 24" monitor as shown. Works fine with acceptable up-down, left-right adjustment. Seems one of the few at this price point, important if you had to mount a bunch of monitors. Cautionary note: only two wood screws install the mounting plate to the wall. These are pretty long, but if the monitor is being to see constant play and adjujstment, it would have been better to mount with washers, perhaps more than two screws, or possiblely additional bracing. If you're handy, you can improvise something that serves this purpose. The manual offers ample disclaimers to this effect. If you attempt to exceed the weight (or "play" usage), additional bracing is needed. Our use case is to raise a monitor for a workshop area used to troubleshoot or upgrade servers or desktops.

I own many StarTech peripherals from HDMI or display port adapters to USB readers and hubs and have always been happy with their products. I was happy to try this wall mount for my 20" monitor. The install was super easy and this was well designed. You really just need to find a stud in the wall and just get the mounting plate level and the screws through the stud. Once you've done that, you're basically done as the swivel arm simply slides into this plate. This was an easy 5 star install and mount for me!

My 21 inch computer monitor’s base is quite large and takes up over half of my desktop so I wanted a mount to free up some room. I am happy with this mount and my husband said the installation was pretty straightforward. I don’t move my monitor around so the range of motion is something I can’t comment on. There is a hook for the cord that comes in handy. I like that I can have my monitor at eye level and it sets close enough to the wall that it doesn’t look out of place. An added bonus to mounting the monitor is that it’s out of my 2 year old granddaughter’s reach.

Wall mounts are a great solution for those with space constraints. We have a small computer desk. With a 27" monitor on it, there isn't much room for much else. Since installing this StarTech mount, we've been able to reclaim the desktop (for more clutter!) I don't have any major complaints. All the parts feel very sturdy and well made. Do know what you're looking for. If you need a mount that can raise and lower, this is not for you. You will need another joint -- something like thisNorth Bayou TV Monitor Wall Mount Bracket Full Motion Articulating Swivel for 17-27 Inch Display Monitor with Gas Spring (Black Double Extension) . This one has 3 points of articulation. It can only swing side to side and tilt the angle of the screen. Installation took about 10 minutes altogether. You will need a drill for the 2 holes needed in the wall. Mounting into studs is best, or wood if possible. The mount will face stresses, so do not mount on just drywall. Over time, the hole will enlarge and loosen from all the movement and downward stress. Also be sure to measure how high you want the mount, because the arm does not adjust in height. Have the center of the screen at a comfortable eye level, with your head at a relaxed forward looking position. I do wish that the bubble level was permanently affixed to the level. It goes into a pocket on the back of the bracket, but doesn't stay. It fell out while I was mounting.
