I got one of these originally to improve the security on my daughters window air conditioner. I actually had someone break into my home once by shoving my AC through the window. This device is designed to prevent that. Its simple, but effective. It basically sits under your window and up and over the ACs window brace to prevent the AC from moving in or out. So as long as the window is securely closed, the AC cant easily be moved in or out. These are great, got one for my new AC, Id recommend them for anyone with an AC on ground level.

The product arrived fast. I like this lock because I have a small window fan placed there and it locks the fan in as well as the window. You would have to be pretty skinny to get in the window.

I bought two of these to ensure my second floor...

I bought two of these to ensure my second floor air conditioner was secured from falling. On one of the security items the upper screw will not screw in tightly. I had to use extra foam to close the window gaps and some clear tap. Overall, the air conditioner is secure and it wasn’t difficult to install for my vinyl window.

Feel more secure with these in place.

I like this product. It definitely gives me peace...

I like this product. It definitely gives me peace of mind that someone can't (easily) just push the AC unit in or out. The long top screw doesn't really serve a purpose in my application. I also added two pieces of wood between the top of the bottom window and the lip on the top of the top window. This prevents the top window from being lowered and the bottom window from being raised, which adds additional security. Without the addition of the wood, the product would serve no purpose to me.

Low review is for lack of instructions. Even after reading...

Low review is for lack of instructions. Even after reading instructions provided by other commenters and viewing their pictures, which were so much better than anything provided by manufacturer, I couldn't figure it out. Had to return and find another solution.

One size does not fit all

I like the concept, but the lip that is designed to hold the air conditioner part is too deep front-to-back and not tall enough for my model (the screw hole isn't above the air conditioner flange). This made it very awkward to install, and I couldn't use some of the screws as intended. But it gets the job done and does keep the air conditioning unit in securely. The included anti-slide window brackets did not fit my window, which was a big disappointment. Overall I think I probably could find a better product or made one myself given more time. If I had to do it over, I don't think I would buy these.

I feel that the instructions are not really clear on how to set up for different windows. The manufacturer's website isn't exactly clear either. The manufacturer's website is also a little bit littered with spam and ads. Wouldn't exactly recommend it to anyone else. There are better ways to secure a window unit.
