The most comfortable chair I ever sat in

I was initially hesitant to order these chairs because there were no reviews. I loved the style so much and it looked like it would wrap around you like a glove. I'm so glad I took a chance. I have degenerative arthritis up and down my back, it just feels great when I sit in the chair. It's also tall enough for me. I use a walker and I have no problem getting out of the chair either. Beautiful and functional. That's what I call a perfect find.

This chair DOES NOT SWIVEL

I went onto the Houzz website, clicked the drop down menu under Shop by Department for armchair and accent chairs, it opened the next page and the ONLY criteria I selected was SWIVEL - that's it, JUST SWIVEL...so, you would expect that the 29 results of their search would be of SWIVEL chairs. This chair was literally the first one that came up on the page after the search - in black. I selected it, chose this color and ordered 2. The chairs arrived, I put one together and, you guessed it, it DOES NOT SWIVEL. Ok, so I called Houzz and talked to a rep and the gentleman was quite nice and after I explained how I went about my search and the chairs that arrived do NOT swivel, he saw what I saw online and said he would pass it along to his manager and perhaps if I were willing to keep them, they would offer me a discount. (Please note, we did agree that in the full description that it doesn't say that it swivels, in which case, WHY WOULD IT BE THE FIRST THING TO APPEAR ON THE SWIVEL SELECTION RESULTS)! To move forward, after about 24 hrs I received a response from the same rep via email that management was not able to offer me ANYTHING.....that is fine, it is their prerogative, but for just a small percentage they could have kept me a happy customer instead of loosing me completely and permanently and there is no way in good faith I could recommend this site to anyone.. As for the chair itself, it appears where the swivel base mechanism was or should be, they have replaced it with a square of UNFINISHED PLYWWOOD which looks completely shoddy vs. the chair itself. (I have similar barstools that look almost identical to these and they do swivel). The rating here is base not only on my disappointment with the product, but with the service received by the management and company itself, not the rep I dealt with. I would skip this chair if you are looking for a swivel chair because it doesn't and I personally would not shop nor recommend Houzz in the future if they don't stand by the workings of what their own website search produced and lead me to believe I was buying. . . . . **UPDATE - after posting this review and only after posting this review, Houzz credited my account 10% of the price and I kept the chairs. Wish they would have stepped up without me having to do this, but nonetheless, the did step up and I must give credit where it is due.
