Good shed, but like everything else these days, pricey.

Shed seems durable and fits together well. I didn't place it on a slab, just leveled ground with a gravel base. I read other reviews where people indicated the instructions weren't clear, but I didn't find this to be the case. I assembled it in about 90 minutes by myself. The doors fit together well and the shock lifts for the top work well. Overall, happy with my purchase.

Quality Control nonexistent

Ya know, this thing is NOT cheap. I just put it together, and there were several glaring problems with the metal pieces (the plastic pieces all seemed OK). Two of the four door hinges were not tapped correctly. I used a tap to get them correct. Then one of the lid hinges had all six screw holes too small- I had to drill them out. And about a third of the screw/nut heads were not cut correctly. I foresee a short life for this as a lot of powdercoating was removed for the necessary fixes.

The shed itself fits what I need and it’s sturdy. I dinged them for the assembly. I’m 58female. I’ve been a DIY’er forever. This felt daunting but I was quoted 275 for assembly so naturally I did it by myself, because I’m cheap. Total it was probably 6 hours, maybe less. YouTube is the only way I got through it. When it came time to attach then roof, the hinge holes were too small for the screws in the kit. Once I figured it out I got through but holy hell this is a beast to put together. Oh and the panels are the only things numbered. None of the parts are. That added to the time.

Don't trust the warranty claims

In two years this shed's roof began warping so badly that it pulled away from the attachment screws. Suncast kept demanding more details, then rejected the warranty claim because we placed it on a gravel/sand/and paver foundation instead of concrete. The base for the shed has no problems, and there is no skewing of the shed because of it. Suncast claims to give a ten year warranty, but in practice they should simply make it thirty days. They have no intention of honoring their promise.

I have had this shed for 2 years and over the last year, the lid starting warping and with the hardware separating from the plastic. Called Suncast and was denied a warranty claim due to the foundation not complying with the warranty terms, although I provided pics showing the floor being perfectly level. There lid is defective, plain and simple. The only option I was given was to purchase the part for $40 with and additional $220 for shipping. Made several attempts for some accommodation but was denied, other than I was offered $20 off the cost of the part. Be careful purchasing this product and be sure to read the conditions of the warranty if you do.

Company with design flaws and integrity issues

I purchased two sheds that were supposed to be identical but ended up with one BMS4700X and one BMS4700Z. The BMS4700Z is supposed to be an improved version but it has design flaws.

Reasonable and durable solution for bike storage.

My house doesn't have a garage and I needed an easy (and reasonable) way to store bikes that I could assemble myself. I will agree with reviews and the vendor's recommendations to install on a solid/level surface. The entire assembly took less than a few hours - I assembled the outside on my own and had assistance to attach the lid. I've had the shed for over 2 years now and at max capacity, I can store one adult beach cruiser, two kids bikes, two kids scooters, and a folding wagon.

This is a really nice shed but we are having issues with the top and need the manufacturer to help out with this. The shed's top is cracked in several places and thus it holds water. Once the top is opened, the water goes all over the inside of the shed which is not good as the items in the shed need protection. Why is the top cracking and how can it be replaced? We are currently covering the cracks with silicone to close them up but this is unacceptable for an expensive nice shed.

Do not buy this! Weld on one of the hinges broke in half in less than a year. Asked for a replacement, they required photos of all sides, inside, top, base, with a 10-foot level (who keeps a 10-foot level handy?) among all sorts of other information. After all this, the 10 yr warranty turns into this: "In order to be considered a manufacturing defect the damage will occur right away in the 1st use." So it's 10 years or the first time you use it, whichever comes first. Will not last, customer service is horrible.

This is the second storage shed we ordered because we loved the storage capacity and quality of the first one we have had for a couple years already! The first one serves the purpose of securely holding multiple bird/wildlife food containers, and has made life so much easier for the morning feeder-filling routine. This second one is storage for our giant chess set pieces (and more) when it is too cold to play outside. For both sheds, we are using a patio paver stone foundation (15 -- 16" x 16" pavers -- 3 rows of 5). We knew it would work for all 32 giant chess pieces (which is primarily why we purchased this shed), but we didn't know we'd have so much additional storage room... which is a wonderful bonus. My hubby and I highly recommend this storage shed!

Do not recommend this unit-see details

Tried to post similar review on Suncast site but of course it wa not published. Hopefully it makes it here. After less than 3 yrs, the metal hinges rusted, which caused the plastic door posts to bind and rip away from door. Attempted to work something out with Suncast for the 4 hinges and 2 doors but they would not consider. Wasn't even looking for full replacement just something to acknowledge that the hinges should not rust on a unit marketed for outdoor use. Yes, I get that the warranty is 90 days, but metal rusting in less than 3 yrs, then causing damage to the doors making them unusable? Not reasonable and not a good product.

The shed went together pretty easily but the instructions miss a key step. a) verify the two back pieces are level before proceeding. If the four screw holes don’t line up then screwing in the hinge will be much harder when you get to it later. b) before you put the side hinges on you need to put a nut into the cut out so that you can bolt the hydraulic arm up. If you put the hinges on before that you’ll have to back it off and put the nut in and then reattach the hinges. Otherwise it’s pretty easy and works great! My garbage cans are now out of the garage and securely stored. I even have a little extra room on the side of a few other things.

We have an urban home with limited outdoor space. This is a great alternative to a more expensive wood shed. It’s not the most attractive, but in our case it’s tucked away behind a corner or the house. It feels sturdy if installed properly on a supportive, level base as noted in the instructions (i.e. not the lawn). Plan to spend a couple hours putting it together. I’ve seen reviews about these falling apart. It could be a proper base wasn’t used. I don’t see how this would fall down unless blasted with extreme wind out in the open. We use it for toys and strollers. For those things it seems to stay dry, even with pelting, windy rain.

First, the good news. This shed was delivered about two weeks early! Next, some more good news. Any homeowner that is familiar with and has a collection of common hand tools will have no problems assembling this shed. One old man (that is, me) knocked this together alone, in one mild, winter's day, with a bit of grunting; the lid is heavy enough to be a handful. If you're alone with that lid, try getting some screws in the center hinge first and then work on the side hinges.

I would not buy this product again.

First of all, it came damaged, with a tear on the bottom of the floor. it didn't go all the way through, but nonetheless disappointing. It came with a broken-up pallet I'll have to get rid of somehow.

Better than I expected!

I was a little concerned about the color since when you look at them online and the pictures there appears to be two colors! I didn't know if the color is random based on manufacturing or where you got it from or if there is actually a choice for colors. When i bought this, there were no color selections! I ended up getting the color that is shown in the product picture which is the color I was hoping for and wanted.

This was a tough purchase. I searched, researched and narrowed it down as we have 3 recycling bins with 1 being extra large and the other 2 being standard sized. This was clearly the best match as there were a few others that were close by inches but I wasn’t going to chance any size errors. The goal was to conceal the receptacles as they are very close to the in-law entrance, property line, ordnance clearance and keeping them free and locked from strangers rummaging through were all my goals. I kept an eye on this shed for weeks as cost, budget, back order, and shipping time was not in my best interest. Weeks later I found it 50 discounted, back order and shipping (with a little give) mostly inline with my original goals so click and go were executed and confirmation received, win 1! By surprise it was received sooner then anticipated within two weeks and the delivery company was very professional, another win! I was concerned about some of the reviews regarding the lack of detailed assembly instructions. All parts were labeled and intact and instructions were very clear, win! My spouse and I gave up assembling things over 23 years ago because always the item would be completed lopsided, extra parts were curiously always left over, one of us would be missing a body part, and of course we wouldn’t speak to each other for days afterwards, you get the idea Given COVID-19 we have been changed to doing things slight differently, so hiring to assemble wasn’t an option. I share this with you because the assembly took us 2 hours, not one argument over instructions and the shed was put together with ease, clarity and is completely sturdy. A glass of wine together was enjoyed post-assembly. Now that’s a huge win win! The color, size, shipping, instructions, ease of assembly, overall aesthetic look all met expectations. Shopping and purchasing large oversized items online is a process I was very leery of as the internet doesn’t always match my old school ways of thinking. I am glad to report that I would complete this process several times over with the satisfaction, quality, appearance, functionality and value I received. I am no longer leery of purchasing large sized items online, now THATS a WIN for all! Thanks Wayfair and Suncast for the great experience!

The size was perfect, it fits five garbage cans easily. Assembly is another story. It isn't difficult, but I was given two bags of nuts, and was not given another bag of hardware needed to finish the assembly. I was able to order the correct hardware from the manufacturer, and in about a week I received it. BUT- The very worst part of this unit are the top's hinges. They squeeze and deform the thin plastic this thing is made from as you lift the lid. I can see already that they do not sit properly, and I'm sure the back panel they're attached to will soon fail completely. The entire unit is made from very thin plastic. Every single screw used to assemble it simply goes into pathetic, thin plastic with no way to tighten the screws, they just sit and spin... I suppose as screws fall out or tear the plastic, they will need to be replaced by long bolts that will go entirely through the unit's walls, and washers and nuts to keep everything secure. It should have been done that way by design. Had they molded the plastic pieces with heavy, dense material in the areas where the screws attach, it may have worked better. So I can't recommend this to everyone, unless you keep in mind what I've said, and can handle future failure by effecting repairs. If you assemble this on a warm day in the sunlight, you will see how everything is flimsy and the screws don't fasten it together...
