OMG! The weight of this spread is dreamy! I feel like a kid with my favorite blankie! I would not recommend this item for pet owners. The weave will snag easily, but if your pet free like I am at the moment, indulge yourself!
This bedspread was on sale, so a good value. However after washing and drying there was an incredible amount of lint in the dryer lint catcher/filter. It didn't seem to effect the appearance of the bedspread tho. Package was well packed, no damage and arrived quickly and on time.
Even though I have a queen size bed, I ordered the king size bedspread, 120“ x 120“, because I wanted it to reach the floor. I washed it when I received it and dried it in the dryer and it turned out just fine. Did not shrink at all. Very happy with the purchase. The color is exactly exactly what I was looking for.
It will do ok --- I had a terrible time finding any spread or comforter large enough for the mattress. while this covers the whole mattress, it is too long on the bottom corners. But it will do better than anything else I have found. Don't know how I bought such a huge mattress!!!!???
Disappointed
This isn't true matelasse, the weave is too loose and easily snagged. The fabric is soft, and would serve as a nice thermal type blanket, but if you have pets that love to jump on or sleep on your bed, it will not hold up as a bed spread. I washed it hoping it would shrink and tighten the weave, but it didn't. I should have trusted my gut and returned it immediately and before I washed it; lesson learned.
Not a Bedspread - it is a Coverlet
I was shipped the wrong color, customer service was nice gave me a credit as the color they sent was cheaper than what I ordered. Problem with this item is it is NOT a bedspread it is a coverlet, so was disappointed on that note. It did shrink the first wash, but after that it has washed up well and has held its color. If you are looking for a coverlet this works, if you want a bedspread not so much, it barely covers my King mattress on the sides. I was looking for something that would cover right below my box springs like pictured, did not happen with this item.
Nice color but overall a disappointment
I am very disappointed in the quality of this coverlet set. The color is fine but the quality of the material is poor. It is coarse and rough to the touch and I'm concerned about washing it in order to soften the material. Yes, I'm that concerned about the quality of the cloth used to make the set. A good lesson learned....a "great sale price" rarely translates to a great bargain. I would return it but I always find Macy's returns to be more trouble than they're worth.
Love this bedspread!
I purchased the teal bedspread and it's just what I was looking for. It's dark teal and is perfect for layering with my comforter. This bedspread is long, so I don't need a bed skirt. The price can't be beat for the quality. I almost bought a similar spread from a well known company for twice the price. This spread is a really great buy.
Too big, too long, too stretchy ... Pass on this.
This is NOT a bedspread ... it's a blanket at best. I would not buy another or recommend this to anyone. It snags horribly because it is a woven, stretchy blanket. I have dogs on my bed, so you can imagine, but even without them, you will snag it with a toenail! It is SO LONG I have to told the top back at least 18 inches to keep it from dragging on the floor at the bottom. When I wash it, the dryer is FULL FULL FULL of lint. I realize it's cotton and there is going to be lint, but honestly, it's every time I wash it. It is a gorgeous color. I got the orange.
Exactly what I wanted
I prefer a very lightweight bed cover and was looking for something with matching pillow shams. Most sets are duvet covers and, thus, too small to cover the entire bed all around - even king size are too small for my queen mattress. This king size spread, measuring 120 x 120 inches sounded perfect. I love the pattern and weight of this bedspread. It did shrink a little after pre-washing and drying in dryer, but it's the perfect size now. It maintained its shape and wasn't wrinkled after removing from dryer. I am VERY happy with this purchase and would recommend.
Poor.
I love Overstock for most things but not bed linens. This is the second time I'm disappointed. The spread is NOT Matelasse, which is stitched, ( quilted ) two ply fabric with batting in the middle. This thing? No. It's a woven cotton blanket basically and about as thin as a tea towel. It was hugely NOT what I thought and looks NOTHING like the picture, but it will do until I find a better one in PERSON. At least it is oversized and covers our king bed to the floor on all sides. But Matelasse? Not on your life.
Severe shrinkage; rather loose weave
I measured the king bedspread prior to washing before use. It measured approximately 122x122". After washing per instructions (gentle cycle, cold water, dry low heat), the bedspread measured about 111x111. I would also add, drying time at low heat was over 2 hours and required emptying the lint filter every 15 minutes. The washed size wasn't actually a problem for me as I wanted to use it as a coverlet, but others should be aware there will be significant shrinkage. I'm disappointed at the loose weave, especially on the back side. It's been on my bed for 3 days, and I've already observed a couple of snags. While it looks OK on my bed now, I don't anticipate this spread will be long-lived.
Good Look for Great Price
I bought this bedspread a number of years ago. Consequently, I can't attest to the current attributes of the covering being sold today. However, at the time I was absolutely thrilled to find a bedspread that would fit my Comfort Select 2 Twin X-L joined bed. Most stores were selling just comforters which were not big enough without using a bedskirt which I did not want to do. Only a couple of places regularly sold bedspreads. Additionally, I was able to buy a colorful one which I had wanted for some time. The spread was a fair price and was sufficiently light for using here in Florida. It looked good until I changed my bedroom decor AGAIN. I actually can't remember any negatives about it, such as pilling, poor quality etc. since it has been a while but that fact makes it apparent it was a good choice for me. Less
Nice soft bedspread
This is an all cotton knit bedspread. Similar to a thermal knit blanket. It washes very nice and is soft. No wrinkles even after use. It will shrink the first time it's washed even using cold water wash. Stays fresh looking from one wash to the next. I'm thinking about possibly ordering another one. This is a year round bedspread that can be used as a 2nd blanket. I've slept under it now during both summer & winter weather and in both temps sleep very comfortably. Good buy. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because of the shrinkage.
Great Bedspread and Great Price!
Now I have a different labeled bedspred than Impressions Brynner. Mine is made by Superior - Matelasse Bedspread (Basket Weave). But it looks excactly like the photo above and I love it. I absolutely love the color too. I ordered the navy blue and its a deep navy color and perfectly matches the navy in my bedroom. The color on the photo on my computer screen is very accurate to the actual color. It is 100% cotton though so it did shrink up. I washed it in cold water and did purposely dry it at a higher heat than recommended because I wanted it to shrink as the width was a little too long for me. It is now perfect. It did not wrinkle like the directions said it may, and I just took it from the dryer to the bed. I just ordered navy sheets from Superior so I hope they are the same color navy at the bedspread. I love it and highly recommend for the price! Less
Good bedspread but runs short
I like the color (linen), weave, and weight of this bedspread. By definition, a bedspread should hit the floor. I took another reviewer's advice and ordered a queen size for my full size bed, so it did. Had I ordered a full, it would've been substantially short. Biggest complaint is the very strong odor when I took it out of the package. After a week or so and some Febreze, it's not so strong and since it's for my guest room, it hasn't been a problem. I'm afraid to wash it right away because it's 100% cotton and if it shrinks, I'll still have a short bedspread. Eventually, of course, I'll have to wash it, so I'll use cold water, low heat and keep my fingers crossed!

Overall, really love the product! Color and pattern are exactly as pictured (Ivory, King size). I had thought that it would be heavier than it seems to be, based on other reviews, but in the warm summer months, the lighter weight is just fine. Something I should have considered is shrinkage - I washed and dried the comforter and it shrunk down CONSIDERABLY. Again, this wasn't a problem, as it still covers the bed, but it no longer touches the floor on all sides of the bed as it did before washing. The only other issue that I encountered was shipping. When it didn't arrive after the projected 10 days, I had to reach out to customer service as the tracking number I was given seemed to be invalid. Customer support was great, and they gave me a direct link to tracking info. Ultimately, however, it ended up arriving a full 3 weeks after ordering, nearly 2 weeks after the projected arrival time. Likely has more to do with the carrier than OS, but it is something to be aware of. Less

The order came quickly. The color is true to what I saw on-line. I had a problem with it stinking really bad, not sure if it came on the material, or if it was from the plastic bag it came in. Was a little leery of washing it right away as some had commented on how it shrank a little. I put 3 dryer sheets in with a wet towel and put it on air dry - no heat. It did take care of the smell, but now the bedspread was dropping all kinds of fuzzy things, that either were falling off, or needed to be pulled off. So many fell, I should have vacuumed off the bed as they were raining down on the blanket. I didn't think about the type of material as it snags very easy. The size of it is quite nice as it covers the bed completely. Almost wish the shams were separate as I don't need them as the spread covers the pillows. Wonder if every wash will drop off these fuzzy droppings? Less

On the positive, I'm very happy that this bedspread actually covers my mattress. I've search long and hard to find one! Most require a bed skirt and my style is clean, simple, modern and I don't want a skirt. I can tuck this spread into my bed frame and it looks clean and neat. The quilted pattern is nice and goes its any style, modern, transitional or traditional. I purchased the white and it's a true white which is a positive. My only complaint is that it's heavy! I wanted something light for the summer rather than my current cotton duvet and down comforter. Reality, my comforter is lighter! Of course I washed it so can't return it. Bummer. I did wash it in my machine, not a commercial machine. It was too heavy to properly spin dry before putting into the dryer. And with a towel to absorb some water, it took three cycles to dry! That just doesn't work for me because edcover very week or every two weeks, max. The weight makes it challenging and taking to a laundromat is not practical or convenient. Bummer. I really wanted this to work and feel like I wasted my money since I'm still in pursuit of a modern, white bedspread that goes to the floor and is lightweight for warm weather months. Less

I do not like this bedspread. I wish I would have read the reviews more closely before I purchased it. It fits like an oversized blanket. I looked at the photos and expected a bit of tailoring I suppose. But it looks frumpy on the bed. I also like the top of the bedspread to have a wider hem for durability. There is no "top" hem and again, this makes it seem flimsy. It is also very thin and not what I expected. It's more like a summer weight blanket instead of a true matelasse which I expect to be heavier. The shams are a heavier version of the fabric and because of the slight texture difference almost appear to be a different color or tone. With all that being said, the color is exactly like the photo, maybe a tad brighter. Not worth the money and I wouldn't buy it again. Less
