Gazebo that works!

Works good for our needs. It is a good size and is fairly well made. Very small hole in screen not worth returning item for a new screen. Goes together fairly easily until the pieces that fit into the top metal part of the canopy. Any burrs or malformation make it very difficult to get the rafter poles in fully or correctly.

Leaks

Wow. What a disappointment. I went and put this nice review about this gazebo and as soon as it rained, it just leaks all through the seams. Maybe I just got a dud. I emailed Sunjoy and haven’t heard anything back yet. Probably never will. Live and learn.

I love it!

Took hubby about 5-6 hours to complete. He didnt have any complaints. He did need my help to steady the frames when putting them up, which he also bolted to our deck. But I pretty much just watched n encouraged him. Fed n congratulated him on his handi-work ☺️. Now to see how long it will last, especially with our winters. He's considering removing the canopy over winter to maintain longevity.

Pleased

Put together was kind of hard, as directions aren't very clear. Had to take back apart after 1/2 way through as we put the 4 top parts on backwards. Then one of the leg poles missing a top plastic insert for the rod to the roof. Quick fix for a zip tie!' Other than that, it is pretty durable, had a thunderstorm and it didn't blow off the deck!!!

[Rewarded Review] Sunjoy Gazebo

So far, so good. Put this gazebo together a week ago, and I like it. Needed 2 or 3 people to get it done. I recommend installing the lower piece of each of the 4 legs AFTER the top is put together. Otherwise, it's too high in the air to put the canopy on the top. The supports seem to be sturdy. We will see how it stands up to the wind and elements. I like the screen enclosure. I bought a separate privacy curtain to block the sun on the side. It can get hot under the gazebo, because the fabric is not radiant-heat blocking. I may purchase some Sunbrella fabric and put it beneath the top canopy. (I gave it 4 stars because the instructions to me were not correct regarding the assembly of the 4 main legs.)

Lasted for 3rys . very beautiful, frame is really thick and sturdy. i tied it on our fence to add more protection from the wind. once you set it up you cannot take the top off coz its really tight. it just wear out when we had a tornado if not it may last more than 3yrs it stand with strong winds but not in the tornado unfortunately lol (EVERYONE THAT SEES MY GAZEBO LOVES IT WITH NETTINGS)... no regrets buying it. frame is still standing but waiting for top to sale so i can buy the replacement GREAT PRODUCT thank you very much!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO ANYONE THAT IS LOOKING FOR GOOD QUALITY ONE.

Meets our needs perfectly and just the right size. I hesitated to buy based on some negative reviews I read, but we have been very happy with our gazebo. My husband and I ducked for cover from an unexpected pop-up storm and I was expecting it to leak based on the reviews I had read, but the only reason we got wet was due to winds blowing the rain sideways. Our gazebo is bolted into a concrete patio and it withstood the windy conditions easily. We hope to enjoy many years under the shade of our new outdoor room!

I had it for almost a year am in new yo7first one and when i got the replacement the samething was about to happen. After a year the covers started to rip. Not a strong meterial. I dont see it being good for more then one summer use. You cant leave it up for year round use it will not last. Its too much work to take apart and put back up again every time wind picks up. I also bolted it down to the concrete on my back yard. Was expecting a better quality product.

A week after install we had 50+ mile winds. Opening curtains, securing poles down and a few other tweaks it stood strong (unlike another pop up style which was destroyed). Its a bit tall for my roof line, oops, but no regrets, just little modifications. Looks great with solar lights in the peak. Im really happy with it, it feels like an outdoor room extension. After reading anothers reviewers suggestion, I added clear plastic shower curtains ($ store) outside the screens and it was great for rain protection (before the winds). All the parts seemed to be made well. They assembled rather easily and the instructions were clear. It took two of us about two hours, three people would have been easier for about 10 minutes, but we managed. You will need a ladder. Overall very happy and hopeful it will survive the season so we can really enjoy it next summer.

If placed in the yard/grass it probably will collapse with the slightest strong wind or weather event. However if you place on your deck, woohoo! you have a winner!!! It makes 90 degrees days feel like Spring with the netting enclosed it offers a true breeze. The gazebo does more than well to block out the sun. I placed rocks instead of sand in the bags that I purchased to hold down the legs. The railings around my deck also protect the gazebo from moving. We've had a ton of thunderstorms this summer and it's still standing. I purchased in May, it's August now and no complaints. Great deck for the price you just have to know where to place it.

I love this gazebo. I've had it for about 2 weeks to see how it holds up with the summer storms we've been having and I'm pleased. A few things to note: we moved from concrete to a grassy area. Pur ground wasn't leve so we had to dig holes in the grass to ensure it was level. Used the included stakes then put dirt in the hole. Just had a storm with 60 mph gusts. Based on previous reviews, we released the material tip covers from the 4 pointed sides and unzipped the screens. No structural damage whatsoever. If you choose to get this set, be sure to make sure wind can pass through. I really believe that if we left the roof material secured the wind would have snapped it. I also sprayed with rust guard spray just in case. All in all, given the price point, the gazebo was an excellent choice. A little preparation goes a long way and will ensure you enjoy this item for a while.

Awful

If you're reading these reviews and wondering if you should save some money on a gazebo this year, or spend a little extra on something more sturdy - then do the latter option. This thing is extremely flimsy, if you live anywhere where winds go over 10mph at any point, this thing is at risk of falling apart. I put it up in May and it stood fine for a month, but after the storm last week in the Northeast of MA, this thing fell apart. It was more rain than it was wind, the winds peaked at 15mph and the cheap aluminum couldn't handle it.

Water Leaks everywhere. So here is the deal: When you stretch it tightly over the frame the seams on all four corners stretch the stitch holes which include the stitch holes on the top piece. The first time it rains its a hot mess. Also the top piece does not go all the way to the edges of the rectangular hole so raid drips down off the top piece right through the center of the Gazebo. I had to go out and patronize Mr Swift for some Flex Seal and seal all the seams and the top. I then had to stretch the lower material below the top hole upwards and superglue it to the pole to cover and compensate for the top piece not covering the hole. All this took and entire day to do. I also fashioned a make shift gutter on the end up against my sliding glass door to divert the water that comes down from that side. I am anchoring the feet with Tapcons today and when Tropical Storm Elsa gets here I am using cable guy wires to lock it down. We shall see how well it fares.

It is slightly smaller than it says. It measure the top of the gazebo instead of the bottom. So the 10x13 is the top. The actual area inside the gazebo is more like 9.5x12. Making the inside of the gazebo slightly smaller than the 10x12 one I had previously. This was disappointing as I really wanted that extra foot of space under my gazebo and didn’t get it. But overall, it seems to be a good purchase. No issues so far. I like that it lets a little sunlight in and still gives shade. We shall see.

We bought a gazebo similar to this in Sept 2020, except it was Model A101012400z. The reason I am posting a review here is because the page for our model has been removed from the Sunjoy site and I have emailed Sunjoy twice with no response. But I've seen on the Lowe's site that people that write negative reviews on the Sunjoy site can sometimes receive a response.

Love my gazebo! Put up in the fall and still looks great. Ive sat in it even during crazy windy storms and the thing didnt budge. I have 3 of the 4 legs secured to 4x4 posts on my patio with rubber bungy cords, thats it. Wind gusts up in the high 20s and it didnt move. It keeps the rain out except a few drops from tiny holes in the fabric. The only frustration I had was assembly. It is huge. The roof must be 10ft in the air. I tried to do it myself, but definitely need 2 people. For the roof assembly I recommend putting one of the arms up, probably a shorter one, attach the middle piece, then have your helper hold up each roof piece so you can attach to the middle piece and then the helper installs that roof piece onto the main frame, carefully, without bending too much. If its lined up right you dont have to force the poles in. If its not cooperating check to see if one of the main poles is off. If the main poles arent at just the right angle it will be difficult to add the center piece after installing the roof pieces onto the main frame. Found this out the hard way. I would definitely recommend it!

Took a few hours to assemble in summer and we have not taken it down yet as of midwinter bc that process seems daunting. That said, this tent opened up great options for outdoor socializing in the pandemic. We hung a ceiling fan in it which was really heavy and the tent did fine with it. Screen panels worked great and the second set of rods lets you add other curtains if you want to block the light more. Not water proof in a big storm but stayed dry enough to use it in a light rain. The proportions are generous, especially the height, which makes it feel like you re hanging out in a fun and gracious space rather than huddling in a tent.

This gazebo was the perfect answer to keep us from the mosquitoes while enjoying our back patio in the Florida summer. It was a tight fit between the flower beds, but gives us plenty of room to relax and enjoy the fresh air without the bug bites. During assembly, there were 3 poles which didn't quite fit right together, but a little metal file solved that snag. We added two clear shower curtain liners on the side where the hedges are to keep them from poking through the screen, which also helps with rain run-off which flows from the roof there and splashes onto those hedges. We haven't yet had any of our typical strong afternoon thunderstorms, so it hasn't been thoroughly tested for holding up in wind, but we have it securely anchored (three legs into the patio concrete pavers, and the fourth in a garden bed) and it seems like it will tolerate some brief heavy winds with no problem. Overall, we are pleased with the way it turned out, and are enjoying the gazebo almost every evening. The dog seems to like it, too!

We expanded our patio & created a great backyard space to enjoy for the summer since we will not be vacationing due to COVID-19. The item was delivered earlier than promised, which was great! The gazebo was easy to assemble. We needed at least 3 people to complete the setup. I'm not very tall so my husband had to solicit help from 2 additional people for the canopy. The instructions were very easy to follow. You will need to have something to weigh down your gazebo. The legs are pretty thick so we opted to use decorative flower pots filled with sand, potting soil, and flowers. We have about 65 LBS per leg (260 lbs total) weighing down the gazebo. We have had our gazebo up for about a month. I wanted to endure a couple of rainstorms before writing my review. We have not had any problems so far. We are very pleased & at this time, I would recommend this product.
