This product met all my exspectations

I think there is a small hole in the bottom as it does not seem to hold water, so it is not useful at all for self watering. But having a wheeled planter I can roll to the water source is very convenient. It holds dirt, but is not otherwise functional as intended.

Very easy to assemble. I have several and it's good for growing your vegetables. I only have one con, it could be a tad bit deeper. Other than that, this is great.

Great for Vegetables

I bought these separate as the special buy of the day slate and terracotta and the plants looks so full and I can tell they'll produce a lot of tomatoes and squash. It's also nice to be able to know exactly how much to water the plants.

You won’t believe the yield!

I’ve owned these planters for years. This year’s tomato yield is incredible! I plant ONE sun sugar cherry tomato in each of my two City Pickers planters after preparing the planter following the suggested layering of potting mix, lime, and fertilizer. I zip tie a plastic cover to the top, and keep the water reservoir full. Right now, I need to water both morning and evening and I pick a couple of lbs of tomatoes every other day. I love these planters.

Nice, BUT.....

I like the extra room for my plants and vegetables. I see some people say they dry out too fast. I seem to be having the opposite problem. We had a thunderstorm last night and the boxes do not seem to drain well enough. I have soggy plants right now. I am hoping the sun dries them up a bit. Maybe the overflow should be bigger.

Sturdy, just as described. I like the depth of the planter.

Easy to assemble but wasn’t aware that it is a plant growing system.

I haven't used it yet, but looks like what I want. I'm only giving it a 4 because step 5 of the instructions calls for a thin layer of dolomite (garden lime); not only could I not get it from home depot, but I couldn't get in in local garden stores either. So, perhaps stock dolomite or provide alternatives? Perhaps say why it is needed?

They work great and grow tons

In 2015 I bought 9 of these. I am still using them. I found they can grow even more than they say. I had a dozen okra plants in one. Commonly put 4 bell pepper plants eggplants, and such to a box (adding some basil and chives around the edges. I had the tomatoes on my porch. They proceeded to support themselves with the porch post and climbed all the way up to my roof gutter. It is important that you used the potting mix they say to use. It is important that you check the water supply every day. I bought several thin wooden dowels, filled up the water, stuck the dowel in the fill tube, and marked the dowel where full was on it. That way I could check with the dowel to see if it needed water or not. Having a constant water supply makes things grow amazingly.

A little shallow. Good for small to medium plants.

Like it a lot, but it isn’t equipped for the additional staking kit; had to return that. Was disappointed.

Great while they lasted

I have about 12 of these, great harvest while they lasted for a couple of years, however about half have multiple cracks on the very bottom so the water just leaks out as soon as the box is filled. I've tried different ways of sealing them byt nothing works, soI have to top water. Bigger plants tend to get very dry because of the airflow, and lack of water storage, so need to water daily

Love this!

I bought this to plant our watermelon plant and it is just such a great buy for the price. I completely love it and it is so easy to move even completely filled.

It’s a good size for small spaces. I like that it has wheels that I can move it around to follow the sun.
