Disappointing. I researched shutters at length before deciding to update our house shutters to the board and batten style. Alpha shutters had a 4.7 star rating. I was very disappointed with what we received. There are faded spots in the panels, as well as lines across the shutters from the extraction process. There are also visible dots on the surface where multiple pieces were molded together. You can see these defects in the photos I included. Wayfair offered a discount, but the amount offered wasn't enough to cover paint and labor. I opted to try another shipment. The replacement shutters have all the same issues. It's obviously a manufacturing issue with Alpha. I can't figure out how these shutters get positive reviews.

Could only find ones with 3 vertical slats

My house had these with 4 vertical slats. One blew off so I was going to replace it but I was very disappointed I could only find ones with 3 slats. Now I have to replace all of them on the front of the house so they match. I haven't installed them yet but they seem to be constructed similar to what I already had.

These are AWESOME! We couldn't decide between wood shutters and these. We finally decided to go for it on these, and we couldn't be happier. And they will hold up for a long time for sure. No repainting needed. YAY! We are thrilled!

The quality of the shutters for the price you pay is very good. Ive seen the same style shutters in-store and online for other department stores, and they cost more money, so I got a great price for these. The top picture is the old shutters, and the bottom photo is the new ones. They were easy to install and look great!

Paintable - yes. Was I worried when I opened the box that the paint wouldn’t adhere…yes it seemed still very plastic! No difference to the touch.

Major Difference

Found these after research for a board and batten style shutter that could withstand humidity and moisture. They came very quickly. Absolutely love them! The chocolate color was perfect and really compliments my home. They were easy to install on vinyl siding. Just watch some videos about how to remove the old shutters…that took a bit more time (it’s best to either leave the pins in the holes and cut them flush with the siding, or caulk holes where they were).

Shutter installation.

These shutters look great and are relatively easy to install even through vinyl siding on a cinder block wall. The color coordinated installtion pins eliminated the need to install plastic molly inserts and screws. Be sure to have a good masonry bit that's long enough. The only slight downside is the shutter will deform slightly to the siding when pinned to the cinder block. Only noticable from looking closeup at the side of the shutter. Not a big deal. Installed six sets in slightly more than four hours.

These shutters are plastic and do not hold the paint. Took forever for them to arrive. We just took them all down and repainted. The paint was bubbling and came off in sheets. Our son is a union painter, knows what to use, consulted a Sherwin Williams rep this second time ccx around. Ended up treating with special primer then repainting again. Literally, we have be so careful handling or paint comes off. Inferior product. Will see how long this paint job

I bought these shutters with the intent of installing in June, however due to Covid my contractor was unable to install. He came out in July and shutters did not fit so I contacted Wayfair to see if I could return for store credit (not even a refund). They just said it was over their 30-day return policy. I am out over $400. I have been a long time Wayfair customer and have spent thousands of dollars on items including vanities, furniture etc. I will never buy anything from Wayfair again. I've never been so disappointed by their lack of flexibility during a pandemic. They expect it from us but won't provide it to their customers. Don't buy from Wayfair if doing a home improvement project.

I was expecting a solid vinyl shutter about an inch thick, but this product is actually much thinner. It's hollow is the best way I can think to describe it. Not a bad thing, I just didn't notice that in any photos-maybe I missed it? I haven't hung them yet but expect they will be much easier to hang because they are so light. I appreciate that they shipped much faster than promised. I ordered June 16th, was promised a September 4th delivery, and they arrived July 16th which was great. No shipment warning though, glad I was not out of town! They look great and I can't wait to hang them!

I was surprised by how thin and lightweight they are, but they look really nice! They came with more hardware than needed with no explanation for what the extra pieces were for - not mentioned in the instructions. They went up quickly and easily. We drilled and added an additional screw on each side in the center, since there was slight bowing and we didn’t want it to get worse over time. A couple of the holes to secure the battens were not drilled through and we had to drill those. The shutters really make such a difference. I feel like the exterior is complete now!

The Pros:

Our old cedar board and batten shutters needed restaining & had been damaged by woodpeckers. We decided to opt for low maintenance vinyl shutters as replacements for five windows. The 16” x 81” tall shutters are nearly a perfect fit for our windows. We ordered 16” x 36” for the smaller window, choosing to have a bit longer length to balance with the window box. The Chocolate is a dark neutral brown, with no hint of red. There is a sliver of space between the “boards” which will make it easier to use nails to hang wreathes at Christmas. My husband was able to hang the shutters with just a drill, I helped hold the shutter as he screwed them into the siding. The battens cover the screws. We’ve had these shutters about five months, through a hot summer, and they have not warped or faded.
