Leg Cramps No More

Love the outer blanket!! Don't like the weight. However, it's just what I need to sleep through the night! I've had really bad leg cramps for years, and they'd increased in number and intensity recently. I've tried everything from valerian root/ chamomile tea to electrolytes to magnesium oil spray. Nothing worked for long. This weighted blanket is truly working, so for me, it's worth the money.

Recommend but smaller than listed measurements.

Good Value for the price. This is my first weighted blanket. I purchased this version for 3 reasons: Comes with a removable and washable cover. The 15lb weight ... wanted the high end of recommendations. The stated dimensions: I needed one for my queen size bed that would not drape over the edges but I could use sidewise so my feet would not be covered. Note: The edges of these blankets have weight in them, if they drape over the side of the bed the weight will pull the blanket and everything else with it. The cover has a microfiber and a plush side. I like the two texture but every body is different. They do offer a faux fur version. The inner weighted blanket is quilted into squares to evenly distribute the glass microbeads that provide the weight. The cover is NOT quilted. There are lots of ties and hoopes all around inside to hold the weighted blanket in place inside the cover...use all of them or the blanket will shift. The product itself does NOT measure 48 x 72. It is in fact 46 x 70. The 2 inch shortage on the legth isn't really an issue as I drape the length across the bed left to right, not top to bottom. The width. however is only 46 inches. That 2 inch shortage of width means it doesn't cover as much of me as I wanted. It's kinda like when your pant legs are just an inch or so too short. If I used the blanket as intended length wise top to bottom the width would not be wide enough to cover me properly. This is an issue mentioned by other reviewers for this brand. The cover looks seems to be good quality and I'm hoping that when it is time to wash it that it holds up. It iss not meant to be thick, just something washable to keep the inner blanket clean. You need accesss to a front load washer to for the fully washable blankets so a emovable cover was a plus for me. Weight wise I wish I had gone with the 20lb, but I'll live with the 15lb and a fairly heavy down comforter for a bit and see how I like it.The two combined give me about 23lbss of even distribution wieght. I'm 5' 2" and weigh 107lbs. in theory the 15lb should be a bit on the heavy side for me. I did a "test drive" nap when I got it home and it was very comfortable and soothing. Time will tell if I go up in weight.

Needs improvement small

Great idea they just did a poor execution it does help with some pain when you apply pressure. It tends to stop things such as restless legs however, it’s so small if you turn over, it just falls off of you

Satisfied

If you like warmth or extra blankets while sleeping, this helps! Helpful to wind down or for comfort. It is personal preference. There are others I have spoken to about how great this is but their preference says otherwise. Depends on the person. I would suggest like another did to myself!

Excellent Weighted Blanket!

I love the feel of this blanket. I also like the texture. I just got it this week and so far I am happy with my purchase. I got it for a good deal also so .. it’s just a great price but also the quality and the feel that I am looking for. This is my second weighted blanket and I am so glad I made this purchase. Especially for the price.. the first one I got — was more than $100 and this isn’t even $20 bucks and it’s just as good if not better. If this continues to be awesome like it’s been so far then I think I’m going to purchase another. I also don’t leave reviews often but I think if you’re looking for a 12 pound weighted blanket .. this is a pretty good one!

BYE BYE KNEE/LEG PAIN!

I’ve suffered awake many nights with RLS %26 my brother recommended this for me to try. He purchased one for his mother in law for the same reason %26 she had great results. The very first night I used this i slept the entire night without waking up once because my knees/legs hurt! Outstanding! I cannot recommend this enough to anyone who suffers from RLS. It’s instant comfort, relief %26 it doesn’t make me hot at night either. My only suggestion would b to make sure u read the recommended weighted blanket for ur weight. I purchased the one per my weight. I can feel the weight but it’s not a heavy feeling. If u have pets and they lay on u at night then u already know the feeling of weight I’m taking about. But this blanket stays put unlike our pets lol! This is a must have item that I will never be without!

It works but you have to fight for it

Got this blanket because I have sensory issues and my body always feel antsy while sleeping so I stay up all night trying to get comfortable. I realized the only thing that helped was pressure so I went on the hunt to find this. $68, expensive. Ouch. I will say, it’s definitely weighted! I got the 20 pound on and honestly I’d probably like a heavier one (keep in mind I like my boyfriend to put all his body weight on me until I fall asleep) but the thing is, the weight doesn’t stay on you and that’s kind of annoying. All of it falls to the side when you’re laying so you just feel like a stuck animal. I usually bundle it up and place the weight back in the middle and that does the trick but for how much I paid for it.. that’s a little ridiculous. This blanket is also seemingly pretty small. For reference I’m 5’2, 5’3 on a good day and it’s hard to keep my feet covered most of the time if I’m fully sprawled out. So all in all, it works and it’s definitely a weighted blanket but I paid $68 and have to fight with it every night for it to do what I need it to do.

Years ago, when I first met my husband he had this raggedy old blanket that despite it's appearance was very cozy to sleep with because it was cool to the touch. The blanket eventually faded away and I've been trying to find something to replace it since. A few months ago, my husband bought me a weighted blanket after talking about how much I wanted one because I hadn't been sleeping well. From time to time he would snuggle up in my blanket and utter "This is nice", so when I saw there was a temperature balancing one, I knew I had to get it for him. I wouldn't say this blanket is as cool to the touch as his former blanket, but it definitely has a cool side and a warm side. On cooler nights he has flipped it over to have the fuzzier side closer to him, but for the most part he favors the cool side. My husband is also an insomniac and though I can't always get him in bed earlier I would say that he falls asleep faster since having this blanket. When I asked him what he thought about it he said he didn't really notice the difference until he had to get up in the morning, that he was so comfortable under the weight of the blanket that he just wanted to keep sleeping. I'm super happy with my purchase and think I might purchase one of the temperature balancing covers for my blanket!

Its Just Okay

I think this blanket is a nice affordable one in comparison to others, but it has its flaws. The outside cover is tied to these loops on the blanket itself, which come undone easily which affects the weight distribution of the blanket. The stitching on the blanket itself is nice and sturdy, which I love because some weighted blankets fall apart so quickly. I had another weighted blanket that is no longer good, so I thought this might be a good alternative. It’s so weird, because the Tranquility blanket doesn’t really feel like any weight is on top of you or hugging you like other weighted blankets do. I don’t feel the nice compressible feeling I get with the more expensive one I have. I toss and turn a lot in my sleep, and when I do in this blanket, I’m basically throwing it off in the middle of the night. I am not really a fan of the size itself of the blanket (think standard throw size). It’s too small for my taste. I like to wrap myself like a burrito, and it’s really not possible with this blanket. All in all, I think it’s a nice blanket for the price, but I wouldn’t really recommend based off of its ineffectiveness in regards to its intended purpose.

[Rewarded Review] Can’t sleep without this blanket now!

I’ve been using the Tranquility Temperature Balancing Weighted Blanket with Washable Cover for a week and I’m really enjoying it. I have the 20lb blanket—the heaviest option—which is ideal for adults 175lbs or larger; this is right around my weight, and it’s ideal for me as a man...I could go heavier! I primarily use it at night because I like the feeling of comfort this blanket provides as I drift off to sleep. Other things I like about it: how soft the cover is, and that it’s removable so I can wash it easily. The temperature balancing feature works as I never feel too not or too cold when using my Tranquility blanket. Noteworthy feature: it uses “Deep Touch Pressure” to evenly distribute pressure across the body, which I really enjoy as the blanket feels smooth and the pressure feels uniformly distributed. It’s well-made, I’ve been sleeping better than ever, and I feel more calm and less stressed. I only wish it were larger or square-shaped as I’m a tall guy. Highly recommend!

[Rewarded Review] Soothing!!

I have wanted to try a weighted blanket for quite sometime, I wanted something to help me fall asleep faster without sleep medicine. I wasn’t sure what to expect because I didn’t think I would like having something heavy on me, I thought it would be too restricting, it was not at all! It definitely gives you that tucked in safe and secure feeling. The only thing that takes some getting use to is when I make the bed and I try to whip it up like I would a normal blanket to get it all straight, or to redistribute the beads, I can’t get it up in the air by myself so I have to work a little harder or have some help straightening it out. I keep it in my room but have twice now brought it in to my daughters’ room when one of them could not get to sleep and let me tell you, it was like when you cover a birdcage, they were out in minutes! I have the 12 lb. blanket and it is just the right weight, I had read that you should get one that is 10-15% of your body weight, plus a few pounds to be effective, and for my body weight my blanket should be much heavier, between 20-25lbs, but I think this size is just right for me. I also really like that the beads are glass and not plastic! This makes it not machine washable but I also got a cover which is SO soft and fits just right, so it’s not an issue. This blanket is made well and really does give that tranquil feeling you need to fall asleep fast!

[Rewarded Review] Relaxing, Calming & Comforting

My teenage son is quite pleased with the Tranquility Essentials Weighted Blanket. When the young man is feeling stressed, he finds the constant pressure of the weighted blanket to be relaxing, calming, and comforting. My son is thrilled that the blanket feels cool on one side, and warm and cozy on the other side. He likes to wrap the soft blanket around himself while reading, studying for an exam, or doing homework, whether lounging on the couch or sitting at his desk. My son maintains that the blanket usually helps him to fall asleep a little bit faster, sleep somewhat longer and more peacefully. Additionally, he doesn’t find the weighted blanket to be too noisy when moving around, too bulky or too warm at night. The blanket has a nice, smooth texture, quality stitching, and it’s weight is evenly disbursed. However, since the blanket is spot clean only, and not recommended for machine washing, it isn’t the easiest to throughly clean and sanitize. Therefore, I suggest simultaneously purchasing the Tranquility Weighted Blanket Cover.

Soft and good for the price

I am writing this review as someone who has both autism and severe anxiety. The blanket itself is really decent, the covers nice and soft(one side is more bed sheet like and the other is like a short throw), a little bit lighter than my other 15 pound and the beads are definitely smaller

[Rewarded Review] Well made with quality cover!

I selected a 12lb blanket to review but received the 15lb. Recommendations are that the weight should be around 7-10 percent of your body weight, and the size should be just big enough for one person to cocoon themselves in and not have extra hanging off the bed, because then you don’t get all the weight on you. If you sleep with someone else, you should each have your own appropriate weight blanket. 48x72 is the size of a large throw. It is ample size for one adult.

[Rewarded Review] Surrounds with comfort.

Received my Tranquility 12lb Weighted Blanket with Removable Cover a few days ago. It was vacuum packed in a protective plastic cover with a large flap and handle for carrying and that’s how I got an idea of its weight. Removing the plastic cover from the blanket was a concern because I didn’t want to cut the plush outer cover snugged against the plastic container. A sharp pair of scissors, keeping pressure against plastic worked beautifully.

[Rewarded Review] Warm and soothing blanket

I occasionally have trouble falling asleep, and that was what first piqued my interest in 'test-driving' this Tranquility Weighted Blanket. The package description lists three parts of the body that this product focuses on, and they are: 1). Lower body, 2). Full body and 4). Neck & shoulders. It is the neck & shoulder areas (especially on my right side) that I'm particularly interested in due some neurological damage I suffered many years ago that still causes pain and discomfort.

[Rewarded Review] Good Concept - Not Ideal for Me Personally

I have enjoyed trying the Tranquility Weighted Blanket with Removable Cover. It is advertised to help fall asleep faster, staying asleep throughout the night, and waking up feeling fully rested and refreshed. I was a little surprised at first how heavy the blanket seemed holding it in the packaging. I have tried it for several nights and plan to continue trying it to get a better long term feel for the effectiveness of it. The manufacturer says it uses Deep Touch Pressure Therapy (DTP) as is applies gentle and even pressure across your entire body. Trying it for the first time in the summer months when I am used to sleeping only with a sheet covering me made it a challenge at first. The first night I became too hot and had to remove the blanket, but then the next night I was able to use it for the entire night. The weight of the blanket did seem to create a sense of calm and after reading the data on it I did feel that it gave some of the same comfort as being hugged or held by another person. It is great that the cover is removable for washing. I think it is a great concept and for many would help them sleep better and get more rest. However, being a large build I found it to be a little heavier and warmer than I am comfortable with in the summer, but I will continue to test it and will definitely try it again in the fall and winter months. I do recommend it for some but you should see how you personally feel about the extra weight on you at night.

[Rewarded Review] Unique way to help with chronic pain

I had never even heard of a weighted blanket until I was offered this one for review. This Tranquility Weighted Blanket is a generous 48” x72” size and has temperature balancing design technology. I presume that this is because of their use of glass beads and batting in the inner blanket and the 100% polyester outer cover. My blanket is 15 lbs. (not 12 as described) and is intended for adults who weigh more than 125 lbs. (or prefer a medium weight blanket) although I can’t imagine using a heavier weight one. This medium weight one feels quite heavy and does apply a good deal of pressure. The application of pressure is intended to help people who have trouble sleeping, or those suffering from stress, anxiety, or ADHD. It is not intended for children, per the packaging information. I suffer from chronic pain related to an automobile accident many years ago. Honestly, I spent the first night mostly fighting with the blanket because (with the cover on) the inner blanket kept sliding to one end of the cover and I simply could not get it to function properly. Once I took the removable, washable cover off and just used the inner blanket, I could enjoy the application of pressure it provided. I think this blanket will be especially beneficial in the winter, because that is a particularly hard time of year for me and my pain intensifies greatly. The inner blanket is sewn into 5”x 5” squares (sort of a quilted design) and the glass beads and batting are contained within each of those individual squares. The inner blanket is not washable and cannot be dried. Overall, I do like this blanket and I think it will provide some relief for me, especially during those cold and difficult months.
