We bought the 29-inch version as a lower-profile seat for our bar that had come with tall, high-backed swivel stools. These are absolutely perfect and exactly what we were looking for. The espresso color is rich and attractive, and the quality so far seems excellent. Love that they arrived assembled (and much quicker than estimated). Couldn't be happier with this purchase, highly recommend.

Did Not Come In Black

Just arrived today. Great product! Came assembled! Solid wood product! No complaints, except they came in a dark walnut brown, not black. We have other black, wooden furniture, so it stands out a bit, but being solid wood, and having over a decade of carpentry behind my belt, I’ll refinish them myself down the road. But beware of potentially getting the wrong colour stools.

The Perfect Barstools For Me!

I have been searching for bar stools to fit my bar with not much luck. My bar is not that big but I have 4 grands who claim the bar when they come to see us. I really was looking for 5 stools as I have a niece who is more like a grand child and also likes to sit at the bar. Stools today are pretty large and the simple ones all seem to come in plain finishes. I was looking on line at the Lowe’s site and came across the very thing I was looking for in the right stain (antique walnut). They look great, they are the perfect size, they are very sturdy for both adults and children and they are a great price. The only down side was they are sold as pairs so I wasn’t able to get that 5th stool. All in all, I am very pleased! Thank you Lowe’s!

Great stools

Bought these stools to replace a folding stool I used in my kitchen. I have used the folding stools before and while they work fine, they generally don't last more than 1 or 2 years. I have also found the folding stools risky, because you're not really sure when they're going to break. I have purchased this stool (in a natural color) in Walmart before, and have used it in my bathroom for many years. So, was thrilled to be able to find the stool I like in the color I needed. ... great buy, and very reliable stool!

Great stools

I moved into a new place, and needed some bar stools. First i went to a Swedish furniture company and tried their stools for around the same price. Those stools were wobbly, cheap, and plastic. So i decided i could try Walmart and found these black stools online. They are perfect and sturdy. You will not find a better stool for the price. I chose the black color for a classy finish. Most furniture stores sell stools for 50 to 500 dollars each. These are definitely worth it. The only problem i had was that they were out of stock for two items after i bought the item so Walmart only sent two and refunded me the rest without letting me know. So i was waiting for two more stools for weeks. I ended up buying the other 2 later on for a set of four. It would have been 5 stars.

Just ok.

These stools which I ordered online are stable and are level on the floor. However, the seats were not to my liking. The seats were not smooth on the outer edge/rim. They felt as if they needed more sanding to smooth down the rough grain. Further, the underneath of the seats were equally, if not more, rough. In addition, the sealant was improperly applied on at least one seat as there were tacky/gummy drips clinging to the bottom edges of the sides of the seat. When I pulled these drips off, I felt like I was pulling that stretchy glue that one often finds on envelopes that one receives in the mail. The sealant felt too thin on the seats as if several coats might have prevented the seats from being so rough, more especially if they had been properly sanded.

solid but small

These stools do have an attractive, satin smooth, rich brown finish(although it did not match the wood in my kitchen as I had hoped) And they do seem strong and sturdy. However, they do not look exactly like the stools in the photo. I wish I could upload a photo to show what I mean. The tops of the legs are further under the seat then shown in this photo. which means they come out at more of an angle, making the stool look very small and unsubstantial. Additionally, and more importantly, the edge of the seat is also very marked. I might liken the piece of wood that forms the top of the stool to a coin--flat top, flat sides. This should not be. Their should be a smooth transition from the top to the sides. The way it is--flat top, flat sides--it is not as comfortable as it could be, especially for a bottom that is, say, larger than a child's. I would recommend these stools for a counter where children would be sitting, or small or average size adults sitting for a short time. They are not a good choice in my opinion if you are using them as your main seating. For that reason, as well as the color, I will be returning these.
