Sturdy

I have bought many of the different size useful boxes over the years. I like the way they stack, and are strong. Tried a cheaper off brand before, and went back to these. I store cards, stamps, pens, markers, in the flatter sizes. And made a first aid kit for my car. I've used the taller sizes to organize bathroom supplies to under my sink.

Storage containers

4 liter storage container w/ snap lid %26 clip lock handles: it is exactly what I needed. i bought a bigger storage container and this smaller sized one fits right on top. I couldn't find a storage container that fit the entire cupboard so I had to create one. This one can hold make up, meds / vitamins, bars of soap, deodorant / Antiperspirant, wax strips, first aid items, sunblock and so much more!

Best organization boxes!

I've used many different methods to organize paperwork, and these 4L boxes have been the most useful by far. I use for tax returns, records, receipts and W2, etc. I just add a label on the front with a Brother label maker, and stack them up. Excellent!

Commended System by using and labelling such boxes

Yes, I find such boxes helpful, and more, could not live without them. They keep my worktops tidy and I can always access any document I need, with speed, as each topic is housed in a single box together. I also keep larger ones in different colours for the same reasons. We have just had a Business Audit and the lady that attended commended us on our system.

Just what I hoped they would be

I needed safe storage for my treasured Christmas ornaments. These containers are perfect! I can place two layers with paper in between. Fits great.

Excellent for Wargaming Miniature Storage

These boxes are sturdy, stackable, and the contents are visible from outside. With a sheet of metal impregnated rubber on the bottom they make a fantastic solution for storing and transporting miniatures for wargaming - Warhammer, Bolt Action, SAGA, etc.

Useful Organization

I rarely buy brick-type toys without having a way to contain / organize them. With all the small pieces that could be stepped on or lost, I want a container that is sturdy and will stand up to lots of play. This container has proven to work well with these toys. I will continue to purchase them for my grandchildren.

very handy storage container

I just love these Really Useful Plastic Storage Containers. They have nice rounded square corners - gives more storage space and is great for documents. The lids lock down easily and they are stackable.

Solid product

Great little box, only thing holding it back from my perspective is that the plastic utilized is very brittle. It is very difficult to have a strong, rigid enough form that is stackable, weight capable etc, without being brittle so hats off to the attempt.Overall, great form factor, allows for stacking, while maintaining max interior available space. Only downside is the container plastic is somewhat brittle, and rough handling can crack it. Or damage it enough to create sharp shards.If you are using this for hobby crafts, doc storage, simple household organization it should be perfectly viable for you.

perfect sized storage container with lockable lid

I needed a particular size of storage container that would fit numerous smaller boxes and yet fit inside of a larger storage box I purchased. This container worked out great. I was able to arrange all of the items I wanted to store and put this container into the larger storage box. I've been looking for almost 2 years for boxes and finally found them at Office Max, my go-to office supply store!

Really Useful for project paperwork

I have used Really Useful Boxes for a long time -- great for collecting all the paperwork mess accumulated during a project. And when these shallow boxes fill up (which takes quite a bit) I shift the accumulation to the deeper box and keep on accumulating. Besides the business use I have used these for collecting grandkids school work, drawings, awards, pictures, etc. And have used them for accumulating family history notes and articles.

Sturdy; Multiple Uses!

Just purchased but have realized the many things I can use it for, both at the office and at home. Great for organizing loose letter-size papers. Stacks and locks nicely. I like that it is clear. Great for storing & transporting sewing projects. Don’t like price stickers that leave residue.

Unable to purchase the size I needed

I previously purchased the 1.7 Litre size (9x7x3) containers. I loved them. Perfect for organizing & storing so much stuff in my cabinets and shelves. The stacking capability and being able see what is inside was awesome. I established a useful labeling system. I wished to purchase many more and continue with my organization. However, the original size I purchased is NOT AVAILABLE. I apparently must now start over and redo my previous organization but cannot find an appropriate size. Extremely DISAPPOINTED, a product so excellent and useful would be discontinued.

I love these boxes but the handles bother me

I've standardized ALL of my storage around the 4L and 9L that stack nicely together in tall stacks of 6 or even 8 high. I am an engineer and store "project" items (tools, parts, fasteners, fixtures, etc.) together and label the box by writing on a Post-It Note, trimming it to size, and sticking it onto the front of the box. Makes it easy to change labeling.BUTThe handles are constantly flipping down as I shuffle the boxes in and out of a stack of boxes. The handles stick up too high and catch on the box above as it is slid forward and back into and out-of the stack. Some handles are loose when brand new. I use a heat gun to soften them, then I bend them to make them snap tighter - but the real problem is that they stick up too high.

My go to project storage boxes

These are the perfect storage boxes to contain all of the components when working on projects. I even have one in the junk drawer without the lid that I drop all mail/documentation in for the tax year. When all details have been received, I put the lid on it and have a portable project box to visit the accountant or to work on my tax returns. When the returns have been filed, copies can be included. Just label the box and store on the top shelf of your closet until needed. No need to hunt for details. If you date it you know even when the docs can be destroyed.

Portable In Box

I occasionally have to be away from the desk. Those occasions usually have some dead time. This box with locking top is perfect to dump your inbox and take with you. The dimensions of 10 1/4 and 14 1/2 are external measurements. Internally it's about 8 3/4 wide by just under 12 3/4 long so it will not take legal size folders. I like it better than a large file folder as I can lay it flat plus drop things such as pens and stapler, or other loose items and have full view (and access) of them without digging through a folder.

I have past experience of using boxes from this brand. And from time to time I buy and will by different size boxes from this company for many different purposes. Manufacturer has a wide range of box sizes and colors. Retail stores usually have limited collection of box sizes. Boxes in retail store are a little bit more expensive than over internet from http://www.reallyusefulproducts.co.uk/usa/, but no delivery expense. So, if you need box(s) for storage recommended process is:1. Formulate a goal - for what purpose do you need boxes, what size of boxes, how many, etc.2. Check prices and delivery cost. As more boxes you buy at a time as bigger advantage to buy directly from supplier. As fewer boxes you need the bigger advantage to buy from a retail store.

Perfect size for paper!

I got this box to hold a ream of paper I had bought for gel press printing. I needed something that would keep the paper from getting dinged up, but still fit on my shelf. I saw another reviewer mention that this particular box was the perfect size for paper. I must admit, though, when I saw the box compared with the paper package, I had a moment of doubt. The paper I got is 32 lb., not "regular" 20 lb. copy paper, so is a bit thicker. But 500 sheets ended up fitting like a glove! My one and only complaint about these boxes in general is the latches for the lid don't fit very snugly. It's nice that I don't have to risk breaking the box to unlatch it, but they pop open very easily. Just something to keep in mind if you keep anything on top of it when storing it, as I do. If you drag whatever's on top off, it may make the latch(es) open up. But still not a deal-breaker for me. Less

See Through W/ Locking Lids Make Them Versatile!

Over the years I have purchased these clear plastic storage boxes in various sizes because they are so versatile. Some of the ways I have used them:** to hold my sewing supplies - great for color coordinating my threadbobbins so I can immediately see exactly what I have.** to hold my various sizes of bandages, wraps and other medicalsupplies for unexpected "booboo's".** I have one with my nail polish bottles and nail files, which makes iteasy to just pick up the box and have myself a spa day** I use some to hold my photo's and negatives (Yes, I still prefer realfilm with real negatives) before I have time to put them in my photoalbums.I love the easy click lock/click unlock side handles on each side so I can get in and out of each bin easily. I like the 4 Litre Really Useful Box

I discovered Really Useful Boxes at Staples three years ago in the After Holiday Sales.The store had the .14l box for only .50¢ each.They were great for storing all sorts of small objects.I went back to see if they had any more and an associate told me about the larger versions of the boxes.I had found the active storage I had been wanting for years.The 4l box is one I use for a variety of responsibilities.I started using them to store medical papers.An aside here - a 4l box was designed to hold an entire ream of standard paper and still be able to get your fingers in there to get out the paper.Back on track, I then used them to also store my bills (I store seven years of bills just like I do with receipts).When a 4l cannot be loaded any further, I switch to a 9l which has the same length x width dimensions, but is deeper.A new use I have found for a 4l is storing toy soldiers that I am using relatively often in a series of tabletop wargames I have been participating in.The containers stack so nicely upon one another and can take the weight that a group of metal figures generate.I was using Snapware brand containers before, but found they were bowing in various places due to the weight of the miniatures; 4l Really Useful Boxes have no such problems.With both company's containers, I tape down a sheet of felt, with ATG tape, to the bottom to prevent the figures from sliding around.I really like the plastic storage containers from Really Useful Box.I use almost all of the various sized containers they make, from 19l (magazines & journals) down to 0.125l (paperclips & small office clamps).I have not used anything larger than 19l yet because anything larger than that is, for me, inactive storage, and I have not found a need beyond banker's style record boxes for that. Less
