Protecting electronics from storm power surges

Recent microburst storm fried all appliances of several neighbors across the street from our home. Our side of the street was spared based on power line arrangement. It was a wake up call ! So we'll be installing Surge Protector Devices for circuit breaker box & central air in addition plus surge protectors wherever electronics, freezers etc. are plugged in.

As usual buy the best to protect.

We use this unit to protect our entertainment systems. We had another cheaper brand and ended up losing several components during a storm. We will not go that way again. Only beef on this unit is that it is a little difficult to wall mount.

I learned about this product after reading a NY Times Wirecutter review ranking it #1 among surge protectors and having the "best combination of protection and outlet quantity at a reasonable price". I use it for my desktop computer and peripherals. Its 8-foot power cord allows for an easy reach between its placement on my desk and connection to a wall outlet. I will consider adding more Tripp Lite surge protectors for other electronic devices in my home.

unless you are using this in an area with grounded plugs don't waste your money. The way they describe the item is not comparable to what is on tripp lites website so review other sources before buying these

All my computer, printer, an Alexa and a Simplisafe security unit are connected through this surge protector. This is not the only Tripplite that I have and I wouldn't use any other product.

Good power strip / surge protector

Good power strip. Well-built and spacious (can plug a few oversized power bricks). Two light indicators that say "protected" and "grounded". I can't comment on the surge protection part because I have not had any significant power surges. Some of the extra cables it comes with are useless (ethernet cable is CAT-4, meaning that it's really obsolete and not good for high speed internet). Overall, I'm satisfied. I bought 4 of these surge protectors for my house.

I have purchased these in the past.

I'm using this as a surge protector for my 65" Sony TV, Nvidia Shield and my wireless mesh node. If we get a large surge, this will burn up and my electronics won't. I had issues in the past living where there was lots of lightning. Had other Tripp LIte surge strips work as expected. The strip burns up but my electronics survive. The warranty is worth the price. It has plenty of plugs for devices. I don't have a lot of devices but if you do this will work well. The Tel/Modem ports I don't use in my current setup. In the past, these devices have worked great and saved my modem during a lightning storm.

Great quality

This surge protector has worked perfectly for me for the past two years. I just recently bought a second one since I appreciate the quality of the product and trust this brand. I really like the port covers since I don't use every port. It can also be difficult to plug things at first, but it definitely gets better over time.

I bought this surge protector due to the 12 outlets as well as good reviews online. It has worked great for me so far, using for about one month now.

Great product with high power protection.

I use it to protect my PC and related equipment: monitor, external hard drives, printer, speaker, etc. It took the place of a Tripp Lite 6 plug wall outlet expansion unit and a separate power strip. This is more convenient and works great for my power adaptors.

Yes

I use it for multi plug ins for sewing accessories, printer, computer etc. The only problem is with it being black and the off/on button is in a place for me to see. I'm 85 yrs. old. I need to turn off and on as I have LED trees plug into it.
