Does it job... is cheap... but...

I got this mattress protection cover because we got fleas somehow. After bombing the house and vacuuming the mattress, we put this on the mattress. I was able to put it on by myself, but it would have been much easier with two people. One problem I noticed it that it is a bit loose, so when I put a bed sheet on, it's all wavy. Plus it gets really hot. It feels like body heat gets bounced back to us. This does do it's job of protecting the mattress and seems like decent quality (like it won't rip easily), but I think the cloth version of this is worth the extra money it costs. So this is a good cheaper alternative if you can't afford the $60 cloth version.

Best Mattress Cover Ever!

This specific mattress cover, I would highly recommend, especially if you are someone like me, that watches tv and always drinks coffee, water, etc. in my bed. My last mattress was fairly brand new and I ruined it by accidentally spilling coffee and staining my mattress :(

Not for me

I like the price point for this product and it does what it’s intended for but I wouldn’t recommend it. It feels like wrapping your mattress in plastic wrap and it makes the sound of crumbling plastic when you move around. The worst thing for me is that if you sweat at all in the middle of the night it’s feels like you’re sticking to the plastic through the bed sheet. So if you’re looking for a good quality mattress cover this isn’t it. But I have to admit it does it’s job just fine but it’s not very comfortable and for something that’s such a great price I wasn’t expecting it to feel like I was laying on a bed of rose petals lol. It just proves the point that you get what you pay for.

Great for the Value.

I bought this to store and move out of state so my mattress wouldn't get damaged. But, I'd even recommend it for the waterproof effect. It's just a little odd feeling with the plastic, but I used these with my Mom and my grandchild, so I also bought a cloth fitted mattress cover. (Mom complained about the plastic making her hot, but once I bought a fitted mattress cloth cover, and she liked it much better).

Protects but garbage bag finish

This does a good job of protecting the mattress as advertised, the zipper is sturdy, and it is a very good price. It fit my "deep" mattress really well. I put a "regular" quilted mattress cover over it. If the mattress pad and fitted sheet come off the corners, you are basically lying on a garbage bag which isn't too comfy, especially in the summer. I'd use this in a guest room or get a second cotton/microfiber finish zippered protector to put over it. It will protect against bed bugs and liquid damage, it's just not comfy if you wind up lying on it in the middle of the night.

Did not disappoint

I was worried when i saw some of the reviews say that it was cheap plastic. Let's be honest, for the price, ofc its going to be. However, it's NOT the " stick your finger through with the slightest pressure or push on it with your foot and it tears" kinda plastic. I was able to get this on a 12in twin foam mattress by myself. I was careful because it was plastic and less expensive than other options. I also had to take it off and put it back on, and it survived the process intact. It's plastic, so if it's hot and you sweat, you might be uncomfortable. Also, it was more than big enough for my mattress, so that means air gets in it, and when you sit on it, the thing poofs up. Glasses or your remote are likely to fly if you're not careful. On the plus side, it looks like it would accommodate a thicker mattress when i want to replace this one. Dont let the bad reviews scare you. If this is what you can afford right now, by my experience, then it should work out just fine.

Protector was made well, the zippers worked good.

This mattress protector did fit two of my twin mattresses which were a little more thick than most....I was worried it would not fit but both of my twin mattresses had plenty of room to zip up. It went on well and it sealed all of the outside pests out. I had a dormant bed a trundle bed and I found bed bugs. I decided that tea tree oil was not going to cut it. This mattress protector is durable, zips good and it looks great. I just covered it with a mattress pad and my sheets and it was like it was not on there. It gave me the peace of mind that I would no longer have to vacuum up any weird bugs next time. I had 4 Queen Size Beds and 2 Twin Beds and All of them feel great, and you have the peace of mind. I spent about 100.00 for all of my supplies but I also bought some pillow case covers for all of my pillows. These covers were 14.00 each and they got the job done just how I wanted it. If you are putting them on a Wallbed, get help, they do tear but not if you have someone else to help you transfer it so it does not snag. After you have the cover on, get help so that you do not snag it and punch a hole in it. I was moving this myself and it snagged on my Wallbed so I put duct tape on the cover......but If I would have had another person it would not have had a hole in it. I decided to put the rest of the covers on and wait until someone could help me transfer it to the bed so there was not any holes. Please let me know if this review did help you!!!!!!!

waterproof mattress encasement

Im an Autism mom. My son still needs help w potty training . I usually buy this every few months. Hes destructive so it has been the nest yet in him ripping ut to shreds . It's thick and waterproof. has saved his mattress from ever getting wet. if used as intended by typical person i would say this thing would last years. and uts affordable so I don't mind buying a new one more than mist would.

rattle rattle

I bought a total of six of these things, which made it a cheap alternative to the other brands. I know why!!! Ya get what you pay for, I guess, but I really was expecting something a bit better than sturdy trash bags. These tear VERY easily. I am using them to protect brand new mattresses in a house with five children, but if somebody needs something to protect from moisture or bugs, DO NOT get this brand because your bed will be in ruins. The zipper pulls at the seams and leaves holes where it is sewn (it is the correct size for all that I bought), and they are LOUDDD. I've put blankets and mattress pads on top of the protector, under the linens, and you can still hear them rattle rattle (like grocery bags in the back seat with a window down) every time you move. BOOOOOO!!! My advice is to just use some sturdy contractor bags and duct tape while you save your money up to get a better brand.

ok in a pinch

It's definitely one of the most reasonably priced zipper mattress cases you're going to find but it's definitely plastic. it definitely makes noise. and if my cat puts their claws into my mattress, it's going to make the whole mattress cover completely useless. but in a pinch, this is going to hopefully keep the mattresses clean enough from my children so that I can eventually buy a really good quality fabric one. but at least I have peace of mind that the mattress will stay hopefully clean from pee and dirt and there are no bugs. but if there were to be any, they would not be able to get in. and it definitely is big enough and has nice deep pockets so it'll fit a nice thick mattress.

save the money and just use walmart bags

these are the worst! they are about the same quality as some walmart bags. the mattresses were the right size, i measured, but the one i put on my daughters twin size mattress popped at the zipper seams while i was zipping and the one i put on my own full sized mattress tore wherever i put my hands to pull it down. out of six mattresses, these are the only 2 that Ive used and wont be trying the others because it seems like a waste of time. Also, the sound/texture is intolerable. please dont waste your money on this junk.

Poor quality

Very poor quality. As I zipped up the encasement after wrestling it onto my mattress, the zipper popped off and the encasement tore at the seams. Not at all useful or helpful. Spend the extra money on a decent or brand-name mattress encasement because this one tears like wet tissue.

Perfect protection

This is the 2nd one I have bought. I had to replace the 1st one, which was due to my own fault! Suggestion, make sure whenever you are moving the mattress (meaning when moving house, moving the bed to a different area or different room etc) that you remove the mattress protector 1st - this is how my 1st one got torn! As far as protecting the mattress it does a brilliant job! I've never had any type of liquid get through it. My only complaint is that it does make me hot sleeping on it because it is plastic! Even with cotton sheets on top of the protector it can still be very hot! However, this can be ok for cold winter nights!

Thin Plastic with no stretch

I was expecting something that would last longer than a year or so. This is a thin plastic with a small zippered opening on one end. It would be nicer if the zipper went down further to make putting it on the mattress easier. Once its on its difficult to maneuver the mattress because there are no handles to hold the mattress and not tear the plastic. This is also a very noisy protector. I covered it with a removable/washable mattress pad to dampen the plastic noise when moving on the mattress.

Does the job

It fits our queen mattress well. The twin sizes we got are really big on our twin beds. They are water proof enough for what we need it for (leaky diapers at night/potty training accidents, spilled bottles/sippy cups). Very noisy ruffling sound when you get in and out of bed. And it makes us hot at night. Seems like it makes us sweat more because there is no air flow between us and the mattress I’m assuming. But for the price we paid it does the job we intended it too.

This product can fit mattresses up to 12 inches deep. I like that it’s waterproof and easy to put on. The instructions said it requires two people to put on. I think two people would be needed if the mattress is 8-12 inches. I have a 6 inch mattress and I was able to do it alone easily. There is a lot of excess material because I only had a 6 inch. The top part is ballooning and I had to really secure the excess material at the bottom and get the extra air out of the top. It would be nice if the material is breathable. My son said the bed sounds like “you’re stepping on sand on Minecraft.”

This NexGen Zippered Mattress Encasement is supposed to be TWIN size, however it is quite a bit loose on my son's TWIN sized bed.. it fits like a XL TWIN. Other than being loose, I think it's going to be pretty nice to have on his bed. He has bad allergies and it's supposed to help with allergens so that's a plus. It does feel like plastic, therefore making all the crinkle noises when laying on it, so I don't know how long my son will tolerate that though.. It does come with a QR code to scan to activate a 3year warranty, which is nice. Overall, it seems like an okay product, just okay though, nothing spectacular.

I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review. Since a good quality mattress is a big investment in our lives, we want to be able to protect it from every day occurances such as spills, sweat, insects, dirt and dander that may end up sharing the bed with us. The Mainstays NexGen Waterproof Anti-Allergen Mattress Protector helps keep matresses looking new by completely encasing the mattress and zipping it closed. The mattress protector fits matresses up to 12 inches thick. It's outer layer is a flexible plastic material while the inner layer is a soft felt like material. This protector is easy to clean by wiping with a soft damp cloth. The only negative i found for me, is due to the material this protector is made of, i became overly warm while sleeping on it. Other than that, it is a great way to protect mattresses from spills, allergens, sweat, etc.

[Rewarded Review] It protects the mattress but not the best sleep on it

Thank you #influenster and #mainstays for this complimentary twin mattress protector in exchange for my honest review. The packaging the cover came in was properly sealed. When taking the protector out of the bag, I could immediately feel that this cover would make noise when sleeping on it as it is made from polyethylene and polypropylene (definitely waterproof and anti-allergen). The encasement was easy to place over the mattress and was also easy to close. However, the zipper had no proper closure or securing fixture, which may lead to protector opening when there is movement on the mattress. Spills can be wiped off easily. I personally would not necessarily buy this protector unless needed for incontinence, heavy periods etc, as it definitely feels a little uncomfortable when sleeping (if you are able to) on it.
