Excellent Product and Option

We recently replaced a 20+ year old 'floating' pressure treated wood deck lying on a rubber membrane roofing material. After researching options, we selected New TechWood, UltraShield, 'Naturale" Deck Tile. Per manufacturer recommendations we installed a new rubber membrane over the existing one prior to installing the tiles. The installation of the new decking was as easy as described and shown in product videos. We used a combination of 2' and 3' long by 12" wide tiles, 3" wide by 3' long tiles along with edge caps to create a pattern and finished look. The deck looks great and hopefully will be so for years to come. We did not want to replace with wood, nor did we want to get involved with hidden fasteners or sleepers to support the decking off the membrane. If you are considering options and you have an appropriate base, I encourage consideration of the New Techwood UltraShield "Naturale" Deck Tile product.

Cuts with a circular saw & details with a coping saw. Snap together easily, & is a great upgrade. Bonus, the tiles don't get hot underfoot.

NewTechWood Composite Tile Review

Easy to install with no clips or hardware required with little wastage. Cutting required was minimal, just to finish the edge, and easy to do using a chop saw or hand saw for unusual cuts. Product shows well and improved the look of my deck. Could not find trim boards in that colour for that product but found some white plastic boards that contrasted and worked.

I love these. They look so good and given the composite should hold up well under the elements. Very comfortable to step out onto vs. a concrete balcony floor.

Exact match to my existing deck which was damaged in a severe hailstorm. Hail was baseball size and larger and damaged 4 of my squares. Had the hail been smaller I think it would have one fine. Again great match and easy to replace the bad ones. Good product.

These tiles were very easy to install over an existing worn vinyl covered deck. The tolerances on the locking tabs are perfect and every tile connected with little effort. I used 18 volt sabre and circular saws for the trim work, just be sure to have sharp blades. I initially went to the Newtech website, and they sent me several free samples to compare colors, but HD only carries some of them. Just beware that they get too hot to walk on barefoot in direct sun except the white color which HD doesn't carry. I ended up going with the checkerboard installation base on popular choice. Check out the online videos for more insight. I picked these up at HD to avoid home delivery issues. Curbside pickup was good.

Product is great and easy to install. Looks amazing and much better quality than other cheaper options or brands that are more plastic than composite. We went with the multi-color option for our child's play area. Also purchased the grass tiles that interlock perfectly with the deck tiles (though grass is raised higher than deck, only complant). Product is very easy to cut. Please be aware that it is critical that your area is flat. I have one area were concerete is a little unlevel and 2 of the tiles move when you step on them. Tiles do get hot just like any other composite or wood decking on hot days. There was an issue with shipping (requires 3rd party for the # of boxes we ordered). I do not know if it was the company's fault for poor packing and using a rather small/thin skid or the shippers. The shipping coimpany was great and loaded on another skid to solve the issue. Noted the damage we had to a few boxes and how to get reimbursed. Overall 5 stars and great product.
