A grill light that cannot be used outdoors?

I received this light at Christmas. Needless to say I didn't use it for a few months. It lasted 6 months and then stopped. I replaced the batteries to no avail. It was a brick! Well trying to get charbroil to answer my phone messages and emails, the light set indoors for a week and begin working again flawlessly. Evidently, it's not weatherproof. They don't warn you about that, they seem unaware about that, and they only allow replacement for 30 days.

Not a quality product!

I had this Char-Broil since April 2023 and have already used 12 batteries. The product is too sensitive, it comes on erratically. I stopped strapping it to the handle on the grill and would lay it at the bottom of the storage area gently and it still came on for no reason. I am very disappointed with the light and would not recommend it. If I hadn't lost the receipt I would return it

Bad Design

Bad design. If you barely touch the outside of the light while closing your lid or putting a cover on your grill the light comes on without you knowing it was pushed. Your batteries get drained and its dead the next time you need to use it. A clicking button or switch would have been better.

Poor Design

I was not able to get this light to work. Very poor battery compartment design. I loaded the cartridge full of fresh batteries and according to the instruction you must be sure to rotate the cartridge just right in order for it to receive a connection...really? The cartridge barrel rolls freely inside the compartment. Terrible design. I am glad it didn't work though because I certainly wouldn't have anticipated it not being water resistant per the other reviews I've read.

Wouldn't reccomend to an enemy much less a friend

This thing is absolutely useless. I would say you might could use it to light an indoor gas stove if the power was out but guess what? If it's in 100 degree heat it stops working. It's not water proof or even resistant. So it can't really be used outdoors at all. Combined with the heat issue I got 2 minutes of blissful grilling one night before I had to get out the flashlight. Then it lightly sprinkled and this thing is a total goner! This is all if you can get the batteries to stay in place without falling out of their holder. That's a whole other feat!

Very light and bright

I had a Brookstone grill light that extended 5-6 inches hoisted on my Charbroil handle, it was very bulky but durable. This Grill light is much lighter, smaller, takes up less space on my grill handle, yet fits snug and illuminates the entire grill just as good as the bulky Brookstone grill light. In addition, this takes 2 AA batteries, as opposed to my Brookstone that took 4 AA batteries. Easy to clip on and use.

Poor design

The power button is not a mechanical button but a touch button. This causes accidental power on when a grill cover brushes up against and comes into contact with the button. This should be re-designed to have a physical button. In addition to the other recommendations on here for it to have a better build and to be waterproof. I would rather see a quality product with a higher cost.

Could have been a good product

Light output is good, where this product fails is the power button. I think battery salesmen came up with the design. The softest touch to the power button or even the plastic housing in front of the button will turn the unit on. Mine has turned on twice while covering the grill and used up the batteries. I now bring the light inside and re-install it every time I grill. unacceptable. Even if it were waterproof, rain would turn the unit on and off.

Not Waterproof

Wish I read the reviews from others before buying this light. It's nice and bright but is definitely not waterproof. Forgot to cover my grill one night and it rained. Next night when I went to grill the light wouldn't come on. Opened the battery compartment and water came pouring out of it. Had my other light for years and this was never a problem.

very bright grill light

bought this light to replace broken gooseneck grill light. I have a charbroil 2 burner grill. the old light only lit up a small portion of the grill, this one lights up the whole grill. it mounts easily on the handle and should fit any grill. it actually lights up my grill and 2 side tables so it should light up a bigger grill too. love this little light for night grilling.

[Rewarded Review] Important Feature Left Out

Pretty bright light and attached to grill and stayed tight. My Traeger grill is under a covered patio and has a grill cover on it when not in use so can't speak for resistance to direct sun, rain or snow.
