It busted my ghost-flushing

The toilet in my daughter’s bedroom was leaky and in light of Calgary’s water restriction situation I felt compelled to address it. I am a reluctant handyman but considering how much a plumber would’ve charged to do the job, I knew I had to try myself. It probably took 30 minutes of effort and would’ve been less had I any experience. If I have a similar issue again, I think I could get the job done in half the time. It worked for me and if you have a 2” connection on your toilet it will work for you. Recommended.

I needed this to repair a 30 year old toilet. Was very straightforward if you are the least bit handy.

Reasonable price, included good installation instructions, easy installation… but continues to “ghost flush?”

Why 6 gaskets

I want to know if the instructions are wrong or they why pack 6 rather than 4 gaskets. I’m seeing some leakage around the screws. I tightened as much as I’m comfortable with porcelain. Is there a reason they don’t recommend a gasket on the other side of the tank before the washer but include enough to do so?

Leaks worse than before

Replaced the flush valve that had a slow leak with this new flush valve and now the toilet leaks worse than before.

Yes fit perfectly and works as intended

This flush valve worked good to replace an old Mansfield unit. Everything you need is in the Box.

Kit was easy to install and worked well first try. My only disappointment was that the bottom nuts were not wing nuts, requiring a wrench in an upside-down recessed part of the toilet. My previous kit had wing nuts, so I ended up using them even though they were a little corroded.

Other than it was difficult to remove the old unit, this was easy to install and works great.

Excellent replacement/upgrade for existing fixtures

Combined with the matching adjustable fill valve, these parts are excellent for refurbishing older fixtures. I can set the water level and flush volume identical to the original equipment, or I can reduce the water volume to save resources. I currently have the water level about 60% of original, and the toilet has been flushing fine for 3 weeks. And it is easy to adjust the water level to a larger flush if needed.

Didn't seal completely, but better than it was. What I don't understand is why toilet innards cannot be mmade to last more than a couple years. Is there anyone out there listening to me? Gone are the days when you could install a toilet and expect it to work properly for 25 years.
