The smoker box worked great. We filled it with soaked wood chips and put it on our gas grill and in a little time we had smoke that flavored our Pork shoulder wonderfully. It is easy to use, the steel construction is sturdy. It cleans up easy (after it cools off!!)

Superb addition to the BBQ

Bought a Weber BBQ recently and this smoke box is a must have to add hickory wood, to smoke and enhance the flavour of your food. A great purchase.

I have had smaller smoker boxes but the size of this one is perfect. It gives lots of smoke and is easy to load. I have had it for about a week and have used it about 4 times with great results.

Wood wouldn't ignite on upper grill. I had to move box to top of flavor bars to get wood to ignite. The box is so big it takes up to much space if cooking anything big. The size is my biggest complaint

Smoking made easy.

Simple & easy. Our first use was for a boneless breast of turkey on the rotisserie. It was the best turkey we’ve ever tasted!

Works great.

Adds smoke without catching fire and adding lots of heat. The airflow is just right. Previous smoker boxes have let the chips catch fire rather than shoulder in which case they stop adding lots of smoke flavor.

Could be better

For hefty price, this box is not as good as it could be. Problem is, that there are holes at the bottom of the box. Too much airflow = flare ups and fires. It works better when bottom is covered with tin foil and then put directly on flavorizer bars. Dry chips win hands down.

Non smoking smoker

I bought my smoker years ago and have tried to use it numerous times over the past year or so, and I soak the chips overnight, or at least a few hours, and I do fill the box up, but not too much, then set in the back of the grate after heating the grill up to 500+°, but it's only worked once for a brisket I cooked for 4hrs. What am I doing wrong? This should be an easier process than it looks. The box should come with better directions. I have a spirit 200 with gourmet inserts.

I’ve only used this once. There’s no Information or instructions included, so you’re on your own. This was frustrating. I found out (the hard way) that you don’t fill the box because you don’t get smoke. From what I read online, you can add to the box as needed when it stops smoking. Instructions are crucial & should be included!! I will try again though!

GARBAGE will not buy any more weber products

Poorly manufactured. Poor design. Does NOT work with gas grills even though it it advertised to. You will have better luck making smoke packs out of foil than waste money on this. Called Weber about this. They didn’t even care at all! Home Depot is a cesspool of products like this.

I used this product to smoke a Turkey on a gas grill for the first time yesterday 11/25/20. I followed the correct instructions in preparation, (pre-heated grill and soaking chips, Cook's Hickory wood chips). After about 35 minuets the chips begin to smoke. I turned off all of the burners, placed the smoker in the center of the grill and the covered Turkey on one side. After about 1 hour I noticed a tremendous amount of smoke. The entire smoker was on fire. I'm glad the burners were turned off. The chips had dried out and ignited the entire smoker box.

Well Worth the Investment!

Smoker box is excellent and functions "as advertised", distributing smoke fully and evenly across the grilling surface. My only concern, initially...the holes in the bottom of the box are too wide to hold some of the finer wood "smoking chips", such as Cameron's, which, in reality, are more like the consistency of sawdust. I have compensated for it by simply buying a piece of stainless steel screen which allows me to use the finer Cameron's chips and all is well. Overall, I'm quite happy with the purchase!

Worked great, but my lid warped!

I bought this in store without reading the reviews first. My Weber BBQ is amazing, but i'm upset that this smoker box didn't stand up to the heat within the first 2 weeks.

I bought this from Rona without having read the reviews online. I have a brand new Weber Genesis II that I bought 3 weeks ago and has been amazing! The smoker did it's job and added a really nice smoke to the meat using my natural gas BBQ, but I'm disappointed that the lid couldn't hold up to the heat. I'm really hoping that Weber comes out with a new version of this smoker box, something stronger that will hold up to the temperatures in the grill.
