I fretted over this rug for weeks thinking it was too bright, too feminine, too ???. Then, because I kept returning to it (and liking it) I just dove in and bought it. It arrived and I was nervous. Once opened it was exactly what I hoped for. I love this rug and am now adding all the matching pillows etc. As for being too feminine? The men are the first to 'like' this rug. Go figure.

Safavieh rug

I had read you should not buy a rug online because you cannot get a true picture of a rug. I could not find two matching rugs except online. The article was right. The rug is horrible! Don’t make the mistake I did.

Great rug! Vibrant and excellent quality. . This is our 2nd Rug by Valencia . The 4x6 fits nicely in our entry and doesn’t show dirt/ dog hair. We have 3 teenagers and the rug has held up very well! One less star because it was difficult to get the creases out of the rolled up rug upon receiving.

The rug changed the whole room!! The colors are subtle yet so beautiful your eye is pulled to the design of it. Soft, comfortable and covered much of the main living area. We love this addition to our home! I’ve always had a cream color rug so I could switch out accent pieces but this allows for that as well. Our living space has changed due to this one change. Love Joss and Main. Not our first purchase with them nor our last.

Don't Forget the Pink

As many others have said (and maybe I didn't pay enough attention to), the pictures of this rug are deceiving. I purchased the grey, it definitely changes with the light. The edges are bound in a light silvery grey and the background is a bit darker grey I think certain aspects are neutral enough that they take on the colors of the surroundings. My walls are Accessible Grey by Sherwin Williams and my floors are greige with brown undertones and this rug brings it all together well. (see picture) I wanted something with color for the entry way and this was the right size. I have several rugs from this brand and they have all worn well over time. It's subtle enough to look sophisticated but that pink does jump out at you. My husband said - "why did you buy a pink rug?" The kind of copper brown is the next color that jumps out. The edges have a lot of dark teal detail that I don't see at all in this picture. The minty green which stands out so much in the picture is actually very muted and hard to find. I thought it would pick up on a verdigris vase I have in the hall but the color in the rug is too subtle to tie these in together. It's a beautiful rug and I'm going to keep it because it's interesting and should catch people's attention when they walk in the door. If you want this rug to match your other décor, I suggest it be pink, teal or copper that you are trying to bring out.

beautiful, but very different from the official pictures!

I looked at other people's pictures of this on other websites, so I had a better idea what to expect. The background is silver, not brown. It changes with the light, direction, and traffic, which I like- I live by the ocean and it reminds me of that. It's pretty girly, with the silver background and pink, turquoise, yellow, and orange. The silver has a tinge of lavender sometimes. It is definitely thin, but I think it'll be easier to keep clean because of that. I put a thick pad under it (Mohawk dual surface). It is a lovely subtle silky rug that reflects a lot of light back into the room.

Sadly I had to return this. The rug arrived damaged because the wrapping had split open BUT that was only one of the problems. The rug looks amazing on the screen. I thought it would be a nice neutral tone for our living room. Holy plastic rug. The feel of it is awful. I probably should have realized it for the price but it has a weird sheen to it (not a silky sheen; a plastic sheen) plus the feel of it is akin to outdoor turf. Was really quite awful. I've purchased awesome rugs from Safavieh before but this was not one of them. I think I need to stick to wool.

Pretty but what was I thinking 80 for a doormat

It IS a pretty rug. However, as all the other reviews indicated, the overall color is VERY LIGHT. What I was hoping for in burnt orange or red accents in their pictures are actually more fuchsia. The deeper gray accents appear to be more dark blue in reality. A picture of this rug under “brighter lights” would probably benefit customers more. So describing the rug on my floor I would say it is blue with fuchsia and pale gray accents.
