Excellent Dishwasher-safe SS/Nonstick Pan Set

Wonderful addition to our kitchen. We cook on an induction range and mostly work with 3-ply stainless steel pans (SS inside and out) from another manufacturer. We found these Viking nonstick pans to compliment our regular kitchen pots & pans, for cooking eggs and bacon and your basic non-stick needs. They're durable and seem to have held up to being thrown in the dishwasher from time to time.

Got these on sale. What a tremendous buy. Been looking for substantial pans that don’t warp and wear out too fast. I Love these pans. They are strong, substantial with flat bottoms that don’t warp and are a true pleasure to cook with. So glad I got them

Worst Pans and Brand

I don't get the good reviews. I use both high end and bargain items for our induction. I wanted a middle pan to use for simple things. It easily came with nicks and scratches and not even a few months of casual use the nonstick coating is heavily peeling off from the edges, which also doesn't seem very safe. I had 1 bargain $10 pan from Costco that is used regularly and even that coating is still holding up after longer use. Very disappointed in this brand.

Carbon steel = best but where they go?

No more carbon steel skillets but now these appear. Carbon steel are the pro choice for a reason. Long as you take care of them properly. I did see some reports of the carbon model warping but noticed they mentioned using an induction range when it happened. Well, induction heats metal super fast right where it's pointed at and could very easily overheat parts so fast leaving edges colder and cause warping IMHO. Hopefully they're not discontinued and will soon bring back the carbon steel version which when you know how to treat them well and preheat with oil like you should every time will brown way better, cook faster on lower heat, & work like cast iron without all the extra weight of cast iron. Don't give up on your first few tries with carbon or cast iron as once you figure it out the ease of cleaning and better tasting food makes them worth it by far. They only need enough oil to barely coat the bottom like your painting a thin layer as well. Personally, I keep a silicon basting brush nearby for this. You want this decent non stick skillet that'll wear out or the best that'll last a lifetime if used & maintained properly?

Great skillets

Purchased about two years ago. Afterwards I purchased a second set for my daughter. Primarily this is a great skillet set. The problem is most people do not read the instructions. You must lightly seasoned each skillet before you start cooking. Anyone that tells you that this is not nonstick it doesn't last has not read how to use the product. There is no better price anywhere on these two pieces than Sam's Club.

High-End Professional Pans

The conductivity of these pans is exceptional. I cook with both of them multiple times per week. These pans do not scratch either.

Edges peel

I owned these about a year and they started peeling on the edges. This was likely due to us tapping our bamboo spoons on the edge. We also had a scratch within a week of owning them, which did not affect the use.
