Comfortable & Classic Design
My husband was rather attached to a wooden version
Good quality, color not a match to website
The chairs seem to be good quality and were not too hard to put together (for my husband). My only complaint is the color. I ordered the teak color and on the website it looked like what I wanted. In actuality, the color is brown (not a dark brown like a mahogany but definitely not teak).
Fit and finish is average
For the price we paid, I guess my expectations were too high. We purchased a pair of premium curved-back vineyard Adirondack chairs in sand color. Material is solid. Assembly holes are supposed to be pre-drilled. Both chairs came with cross members under the seat with pre-drilled holes so poorly off-center that I had to re-drill them to get it to fit together - glad I had the tools and knowledge to do so, because…. When I got to the second chair, the back was MISSING two of the four pre-drilled holes that hold it all together. TBH, not impressed with the fit and finish. Maybe my expectations were too high? Buyers beware, lots of outdoor chair choices out there when the price is $300+ a pop, quality control is suspect. And yes I tried to reach out to customer service, they were closed - and the “chat” service is a bot, so not helpful.
Patio Napping
Was looking for some patio furniture that would allow me to relax, read a book, and occasionally take a nap. The Polywood Vineyard Chairs and Rockers seemed like the perfect combination to provide some variety depending on my mood. I struggled settling on color based on all the various choices Polywood offers. Many recommended selecting a neutral color which would allow me to decorate with pops of color through the use of pillows, tables, and other decor. The chair components were packaged well and easy to assemble. The chairs were delivered on time. I couldn’t be more pleased with the quality and overall appearance of these chairs. They certainly seem like they will be easy to clean when necessary. They are more expensive than box store furniture, but I suspect they will hold up well over the years with the warranty that is offered. Companies don’t offer a warranty like this unless they are confident in their product. Also, I am pleased to know Polywood uses environmentally sustainable materials. I highly recommend these chairs to anyone on the fence.
Look nice, comfortable, but not sturdy
The chairs are made of a molded plastic that is pretty soft. In this case soft means the screws will strip out the plastic that they screw into. The manufacturer did not design this well as it would have either threaded metal sleeves to strengthen the hold, or metal nuts to screw into. This is metal screwing into soft plastic, so it loosens over time, and strips out the threads of the plastic over time. Only get a season or 2 out of them and then they fall apart.
Comfortable but better quality control needed
The chairs are comfortable enough. For assembly, get yourself the necessary drill bit. Assembly is best with two people. Two of my chairs had holes that were drilled a bit off, making it almost impossible to assemble. One chair arrived with two big scratches. I submitted a claim right away but it’s been weeks and no one from polywood has responded. It’s almost impossible to talk to a real person from this company.
Not assembled correctly from factory
We love all of our Polywood furniture. We received two Adirondack chairs and with both, the support wings on both front legs were put together backwards. Easy to see because the cutout for the middle support piece was on the wrong side on all four pieces. Easy fix but was surprised which is why I gave four and not five stars. Regardless, the chairs turned out great and look beautiful on our front porch!
Love these chairs
We love the quality of our Polywood chairs; they look great in our yard and were very easy to assemble. There was one small screw missing on the seat of one of the chairs (from the part of the chair that was already assembled). I decided to just find a screw to replace the missing one rather than sending the chair back, but overall, the quality is excellent. Very happy with the purchase.
Our 2nd purchase of Polywood.
Our 2nd purchase of Polywood. 1st was a Vineyard porch swing. We love it! Extremely pleased with the 4 chairs. Ordering was easy, website is great, lots of email & text updates on the order & shipping, well packed, easy to assemble. All hardware & instructions were included. Everything lined up perfectly. Chairs are comfortable & well built. Lots of compliments from anyone who has seen or sat in them. Best of all they were on sale! Could not be happier! Highly recommend! Thank you Polywood and your team for made in the USA awesome products!
We already have 4 of
We already have 4 of these chairs, and are very happy with the size, comfort and quality of the material. During the assembly, several of the screw holes were not drilled completely through and had to be punched out. Two of the chairs were missing one of the small screws associated with the arms and the screws holding the arms together were loose and had to be tightened. Overall, we like the chairs, just a couple of QC issues during the plant assembly process.
Love love love!
I have the classic Adirondack chairs around our fire pit, the swinging day bed, a couple of rocking chairs on a porch and our latest purchase were these vineyard Adirondack chairs for our garden sitting area. We LOVE them all! The fire pit chairs we’ve had for multiple seasons and they look just as beautiful as they did when we first purchased. I love that I don’t have to bring them inside for our snowy mountain winters (unlike other furniture we bought prior to learning about polywood). We highly recommend polywood to all our friends! Of the two styles of the Adirondack chairs we own this is now my favorite! Super ergonomic and long enough to lean back in and have my head supported (I’m 5’8” with a long torso). Can’t recommend these enough! Next year we’ll add the fire pit table as well 😊
Comfy chairs for Fires and Sunsets
We have three of these curved back chairs with matching ottomans, two 48" benches and 3 dining chairs to go with our 39x78 table that utilizes a built-in bench for seating at one end and one side. We wanted a colorful display on our gray deck overlooking Lake Michigan so we ordered the furniture in a combination of the Tangerine, Red, Lime, Aruba, and Pacific blue. It is beautiful, comfortable, heavy enough to withstand winds on the lake but not too heavy to reposition as needed for different size groups. We really love the comfort of the furniture, how simple it was to put together, and the overall quality. I have lumbar pillows for each adirondack and two for each bench and that really increases comfort while sitting. My hesitation is that some of these brighter colors do NOT come clean despite scrubbing, power washing and etc. The tangerine is especially problematic, but the red also holds the dirt and I have had to scrub several times each season to keep them looking welcoming. The other colors have been awesome and I would order them all again, but do not recommend the tangerine or red.
Sturdy and Bright
I gave these as a gift, so I don't use them myself. But my son-in-law was able to build all four without issues, and they look great on their back patio. The chairs are a good weight--sturdy and solid. The blue color is bright and vivid. The height is nice-not as low as some chairs--even with my bad knees, I was able to get out of them without too much trouble. The extra width makes them very comfortable. But we'll likely add a lumbar cushion for those of us with low back pain--Adirondack styles are not always easy on the lower back, but that is the nature of that chair. My daughter and SIL love them!
Sit, sip, relax and enjoy the Vineyard Curveback Adirondack Chair
We tried these chairs out at an Oregon winery and though we were tipsy looking out on a breathtaking view we found the chairs extremely comfortable. (note buying any furniture is a challenge these days, how can one buy something without sitting in it first?) From a package delivery update I feared I did not order the curveback chair, but we did!! The curveback is great and after the easy assembly we sat for hours reading in the shade. The vineyard curveback model is great for comfort, easy in and out, and the colors are so cheery. And no more stress worrying about the elements degrading these chairs. Very happy.
3.5 stars - Pretty good but notable issues
The quality of the materials is great, it's sturdy and the chair is comfortable. But a couple of issues: 1) two screws were too short and didn't go all the way thru the members so we had to go to a hardware store to look for longer screws. Total bother. 2) the ottoman is poorly designed ergonomically. The pitch is too steep for both my husband (whose 6'3") and myself (5'3") so that it puts a lot of pressure on a single spot on our legs wherever they are resting on it. The pitch needs to be much more gradual. Very uncomfortable and a waste of money.
10/10 would recommend to friends and family.
10/10 would recommend to friends and family. We’ve owned teak Adirondack chairs for many years. While they’ve been nice, they do require annual maintenance and are very expensive.
We love these chairs and have been enjoying them since received. The only issue was, out of 5 chairs, one was missing the hardware. Instead of calling and waiting on it to arrive, we just made a quick trip to our local Lowe’s. Definitely worth the price. We have other Adirondack chairs and paid much more for them. These are just as nice. Have a feeling we will be enjoying these for many years to come.
Not the same quality as the old ones
I ordered two new chairs because I liked my old ones so much. Had those ten years and they are still holding up great. Needed more so that I didn't have to move them around so much. Unfortunately the new ones are much lower in quality. The boards are thinner and bend far more. Due to the thinner boards and the fact that the seat slats are also not as deep individually, when you are sitting whichever board is bearing your weight will bend down but the others will not bend as much. This leaves you with an uncomfortable uneven seat. I'd suggest looking elsewhere. If you don't, at least save yourself some pain and get a cushion. I can still, after 10 years, sit in their old chairs with no problem for hours. Wish they still made them like they used to.
