Almost, but not quite - returned it

We ordered the Safavieh Vintage Hamadan Tabriz 9 x 12 Red in store and were able to get the military discount (thanks, Lowes!) but had to pick up at store. The color was completely different than the photos on Lowes site, but you can find it on other sites and see better details. It has a lot of bright red and sage green to it. It was soft and laid flat quickly. The back was not rough like carpet backing, so no problem laying it on our wood floor. It was labeled 9x12 but was 3" short of 9 feet; however the metric measurements on the label were accurate. We laid it out in our garage for two days to let it air. I took a old white t-shirt and rubbed over small area and had oil-like residue on it - not excessive, but noticeable - a probable byproduct of production (it is after all made from oil!). But the smell was the final straw. After a week in the house it was as strong as upon opening and was not diminishing even after leaving the ceiling fan on 24/7. We actually laid sheets on top of it at night so it wouldn't bother us as much (we had it in our bedroom) as we slept. Finally rolled it up and took it back to Lowes. Also - the patterns on this large rug might have looked great on a smaller one, but it seems the same pattern "image" was simply enlarged on the loom instead of altering the weaving details to look good at a large scale - it was very pixelated looking - no sharp detail or lines.
