Wanted to love it . . .

I was very excited about this rug. The price told me that the quality wouldn't be the best in the world, but since most of it would be under furniture I wasn't too worried about it. Overall the rug is fine and the wrinkles fell out almost immediately. But the colors were really off from the website images. On the website the red looks a little muted but in real life the red is cherry red - BRIGHT red. And the border has flecks off hot pink and teal that you definitely don't see online. Is it the worst rug ever? No. But sadly, the super bright coloring throws off what could have been a great subtle rug.

Sturdy rug but looks cheap

I bought the roughly 3x5 rug for a busy entry way to my kitchen. It is sturdy and dense, but a little shiny. I have authentic orientals in my kitchen which I was hoping to coordinate with this one. The pattern is basically the same, but the execution is very cheesy looking. The design is rather pixilated and not well defined as in some other reproductions. I decided to buy an authentic rug for the space and will take my chances with wear. I will keep this rug and use it in the garage or basement as a buffer to entering the house. Sturdy rug, just not a good look.

Smelled of mildew/mold but was pretty........

I have ordered many Safavieh carpets and have loved them all. I loved this one too but when i opened the packaging it smelled of mildew...Like it was once wet or in a wet area for a while....it was also a return as it was rolled with finish side in (it usually arrives on outside) and it had fold marks in it from being folded instead of rolled for an extended period of time. so i tried to air it out but it overwhelmed my house with this odor and made my throat burn so i had to return it. I ordered another one in a smaller size in same design hoping this one wont be damaged by odor. . I am wating on refund and will update when i receive it. Its been two days so far since i lugged it down to a ups store....Its a hassle to return a large item like an 8 x 10 carpet...let alone roll it up by yourself and try to get it back in the plastic it arrived in....they should pick up at your home. all and all safavieh has great rugs but this was a fail...only due to mildew and it was a return.

I have had this rug now for a few years. I have I believe a 10x14 sized one. The red is really bright so if you wanted a muted red this is not for you. This rug is a "beast". It's super thick feeling and holds up to foot traffic. It also cleans up well. I had a dog who had a few intestinal accidents. I used a portable rug cleaner and it cleaned up really well, no stains, didn't hold any odors either. One draw back is if you drop something on it, with the patterns and colors it almost camouflages it, especially dog toys, you don't see them until you step on them with bare feet. Lol. I put a felt type padding down underneath it and it's so comfortable to sit on too. The price was really good too as I had a heck of a time finding a large rug like this wiper it costing a small fortune. Very happy with my purchase
