Best small heater ever!

I bought it for our loving room and bedroom. Very quiet but powerful, love the warmth from this small heater! Stopped using a huge, expensive gas heater in Apt. Saved lots of $$ last winter. Highly recommended!

Great

I compared this to the similar Vornado and Lifesmart heaters. This one was more quiet than the rest. It does not blow cold air on you for the last 15-30 seconds when you power it off (stupid LifeSmart) and it heats up instantly, so you're never getting any cool air blown on you. Did I mention this isn't as loud as the others? I use it in my home theater room with great results. The only downside is the stupid incredibly bright LED's. But I got LED light blocking stickers to put over the LED's to make them dim but still readable. LED light blocking stickers are a couple bucks at the big A* and other similar retailers.

The remote DOES NOT TURN THE HEATER ON OR OFF!! That IS THE FEATURE WHY I BOUGHT THE HEATER AND THE HUMIDIFIER SEEMS TO BE A HASSLE TO DEAL WITH!

Excellent heater

I use this in our living room. Heats the whole house. We can turn our split units off and they stay off while this is running..oscillator is great for moving the air and the humidifier feature keeps the air perfect..no more dry nose bleeds. Even whe. Its 15 degrees outside it will keep your house warm no matter what.we prefer 72. But it goes up to 89 degrees..hope this helps.im buying another for the other side of the house.

It does the job. Just dont expect much.

It's fine. Not as strong as everyone says. Heats the room over time in combination with our gas heater. We were looking to lower our gas bill, but all i think we did was raise our elecric bill and still have a high gas bill haha.

Humidifier is a welcome feature. Noise factor is low. Electrical cord is short. Wonder why adding extension would be unsafe.

5 Stars

I read several reviews before choosing this heater. Its been running since November 22 and its wonderful . It heats our living room with cathedral ceiling veey well on 29 f° nights. If temp dips below 20f° we need a second small heater to help out. Our furnace died last autumn, we use electric room heaters. This one is great! Id get another!

Control panel is pretty unstable

This heater puts out pretty good heat and I like the oscillating blades. The humidifier LOOKS like it is putting out lots of humidity (although my humidity sensor doesn't show that it really makes much difference) and the water bottle lasts a long time. The control panel is not so good: I have to wiggle the main on/off button around to get it to stay on, otherwise it just turns off again and a number of times the humidifier has come on all by itself without me even touching the remote or the control panel. The thermostat seems pretty iffy, I can set it to 70 and sometimes it won't come on despite the room being 65, or I can set it to 65 and sometimes it will come on despite the room being at 70. It does basically do the job for a pretty good price though so I am keeping it.

To Humidify and Heat Simultaneously

This is a supposedly more advance version of the first one I bought, but I find that the extra money for a humidifier with a plastic drink size water container to be inferior so I would not recommend this one. The other one without I would recommend especially for the sale price.

Replaced the Furnace.

Propane heater went out on my 5th Wheel, which is my home. Bought the Dr Infrared Heater Elite just after Thanksgiving and it is even better then the furnace. Have this one in the living room and a different on that I bought several years ago up in the bed and bath area. We'll see how it effects the electric bill this month. If that is not crazy, I will not have been able to ask for a better outcome.

So far, so good

I've only been using the heater for about two weeks, but so far it's doing a good job. I'm using it in my home office, which is an add-on to the house with no other source of heat. The room is just under 200 sq ft and has 14-foot ceilings. It is closed off with french doors, so gets very little residual heat from the rest of the house. Before getting the heater, the room was too cold to work in. Since getting the heater, I've kept it running 24/7 (at a lower temp of 70 overnight). The room gets to a comfortable 73+ within an hour in the morning. I've given the heater four stars because the oscillating mechanism makes a creaking noise. I give five stars only if an item is "perfect." Also, this is soon for a review -- we'll see what it's like in six months or a year. For now though, I'm happy to be warm in my office.

Heats better then expected!

I bought this brand of heater because of the reviews. We only use infrared heaters to heat our two bedroom ranch home. I set this one at the end of the hallway where the bedrooms and bathroom is. We have two other ones in our 24x24 living room. This one I like because it has a rotating fan that blows back and forth. So being basically in front of the bathroom it throws heat in there and travels down the hall to the bedrooms. We don't like it extremely hot in our bedrooms and set it on 67. Last couple night dipped down into the single digits here in NY and it still kept the house nice and warm. The bathroom seems a little warmer then with our last one, which I really like when taking a shower. It has the humidifier attachment, but never used it yet. It also is a little smaller then our last one but it doesn't affect it putting out a lot of heat. When it reaches 67 it turns itself off and comes back on when it drops below the set temperature. We Love it!

Great heating capacities and economical to boot!!

I really didn't want to spend this much money on a portable heater, but I'm sure glad I did! Since I no longer have central heat, my home gets pretty chilly on cold nights even though I live in NW Florida. I wanted a quality quartz heater with a remote and safety features that would allow me to get a good night's sleep while leaving the heater on in my living room. I got all three, and then some, with this Dr. Infrared Heater! There are several models of Dr. Infrared Heater, but the price difference between the least expensive model (without enough safety features to satisfy me) and this model was only about 30 bucks. It was a no-brainer decision for me to spend the extra money and get the model with the most safety features. I'm really happy with this heater so far, and I highly recommend it! Oh, it also has a humidifier feature (distilled water only!) which I haven't used yet because I'm not comfortable with my technical skills to try it, and I refuse to ask a man friend to do it for me!

Fan-Tas-Tic

This is a great little heater. We have had several IHeaters but this one is much better. It will easily heat (placed to blow through the door opening) several rooms comfortably. Really glad we purchased it. I wondered about it because it is a smaller size than others we have had. But it really works better.

I would recommend the Dr. Infared heater without the humidifier. Humidifier leaks all over the floor due to bad design with connecting water tank. Design flaw. Heater works well though, but water tank ruins its. Got my wood floors wet and if I ha been watching it would have ruined my wood floors.

Good quiet heater, would recommend to others.

I use this heater for supplemental heat in a 22 x 15 LR-KIT during the winter months. The heater, fan and humidifier is quiet and the cabinet is always cool to touch. The functions on the cabinet and remote are easy to use and it rolls easily on carpet. It keeps the area toasty warm at 70 degrees and often have to turn down the temp. The wood cabinet looks nice in a warm cherry finish. There was a delay in delivery, and the service staff at Sylvane (thanks!) followed up and solved the problem. Assembly was 2 things -hook the humidifier case onto the rear and put the batteries into the remote. When everything works after unpacking and for a month now, I'm a very happy customer.

1 Star

This one star is solely for the horrible musty/mothball smell emitted from the heater. I have no issues with the heat itself, it is a very good heater, unfortunately the overwhelming smell makes it unusable. You would think that a brand new heater would not smell like it's been sitting in my 87 year old grandmother's house for 10 years but if you order this product that is exactly what you get. I wish I could rate it better because it does warm a room quickly but I'm worried I'll develop respiratory problems if I operate it more than once. This is being returned asap.
