Quality control lacking

Purchased these & only half "worked" that is for only a couple of months than stopped working, preventing the light on my dark street to illuminate until I grabbed a ladder in the dead of the night to remove these poorly made items. Great concept in theory however these particular ones are a total waste of money. Now hiring an electrician to install a true dusk to dawn timer for my outdoor light. Buy only as a temporary solution and as others noted, likely one in the package are faulty.

Dusk til dawn Security

This was purchased as a set of replacements for previously installed units. After almost 2 years of daily use the photo cell on one of fifteen finally gave up the ghost. Simple to install and use. Just screw it into the socket add your bulb and you have light after dusk. If it doesn't work when installed, remove and check that the bottom contact point is up, then reinstall. Note: some fixture bases have a tall covers over the socket, it may be necessary to trim them so the unit can fully seat.

Junk, not so fast.

I bought the 3 three packs on an impulse while looking for another item. When I arrived home I went on line to see if there were more available as there was a very small quantity on the rack. Reading the reviews one excellent one "JUNK" I decided to install one and see. First one did not work, #2 did not work and #3 did not work. NUTS. After removing the socket I looked into the socket. The bottom contact seemed very low. I gently lifted the "loose" end and tried it again. Voila IT WORKED. I adjusted the other two and they worked as well. A very inexpensive way to have dusk to dawn lighting. Note: some bases are set a little too deep to accept adaptor, a small adjustment to the fixture may be necessary. SAFETY FIRST!!! DO NOT TRY THIS ADJUSTMENT WHILE THE SOCKET IN INSTALLED AND POWER IS ON.
