very nice product very heavy gauge. Nice upgrade from a basic unit, worth the money.

nice base

The base went in without problems. Looks nice and feels solid. We did install using mortar as our subfloor wasn't completely level. Drain is different than what I previously have installed on shower bases. basically it has a built in drain and a gasket is placed over the 2" drain pipe with a cover that snaps in the top. It is working fine. I did contact swan over a few install questions, and they were very helpful. My only complaint would be that shipping did take a while but it was worth the wait for me. It was a special order so I was expecting to have to wait for it. I

Product color and texture not what is described or

The description says this is pebbled, slip resistant. The product we received is not pebbled, it has an actual slip grips built in to the bottom surface of the base which is not what we wanted. The picture does not show this. We ordered two and one the color was supposed to be canyon, a brown color. Instead it was a puke green color and had to return. Items were on back order for 2 months which wasn't a problem but now we have to search for something different and order again.

Nice product, a little big for retrofit as the 3/16” edge gap is not going to happen in a 5’ existing standard bathroom. It does fit but very tight. The drain while a great idea for simplicity is very difficult to complete without two working together as the seal is very stiff and the drain cover has very poor attachment design, hopefully it will stay put. Perhaps a rethink of the drain design or assembly instructions is in order.

Good solid material. Only issue was when installing drain connections. Your plumbing has to be exact to connect to the drain and the rubber fernco collar was very difficult align.

This is a good quality, solid-surface shower pan. With a mortar bed properly installed under it, it's rock-solid. I also came with a nice stainless steel strainer. I bought a smaller one of these last year that came with an unattractive white plastic strainer.

The product is as shown, however there's an odd arrangement in the drain assembly that prevents the use of a typical shower drain connection, or for the option of changing out the finish of the drain cover. Packaging was poor, there was a dig/scratch on the front curb of the shower pan. We elected to keep it because 2 others of this brand, and 5 of other brands had arrived damaged. Vendors really need to find a better way to pack & ship these items.

A good solid shower base that we put in to replace a tub. Very good quality and excellent textured non-slip floor pattern. I will definitely use it again.

It fit as specified. My only complaint is the lack of a good hair strainer or any real provision for devising one. The holes in the plastic grate that comes with it are way to large to catch much of anything.

Is it Swanstone? or is it?

I purchased this thinking it would be the same solid surface material as my kitchen sink but it looked like the other poly/plastic floor models in the store. If I wanted one of them, then I could have skipped the wait or ordering. I wish I would have read all the reviews prior.

[Rewarded Review] Well Worth the Money!

We were doing a remodel bathroom and wanted to convert our bathroom downstairs into a full shower. Previously it had a shower insert with a tub. I was shopping and looking at shower pan and wanted something more then the normal shower pan. We picked this SWAN brand for it's lifetime warranty and that it stands behind its product. Originally we wanted to do a custom made tile shower pan, but our contractor said it would cost us $800 to $1500 for a custom tile shower pan. I was really hesitated on ordering this $500+ shower pan, but pulled the trigger after my husband insist that it would be better then the normal standard pan offer at Lowe's. The price is almost double the normal shower pan, but we liked the texture and it fit our remodel look better then a normal standard white/ or ivory shower pan. If you are looking for an alternative to a custom tile shower pan and can afford an additional $200 from the traditional pan, I would recommend this product. You can choose from several colors based on your bathroom designs. No issues found by my contractors when installing it. The only issue we had was the delivery of it to the store. Not sure if it was SWAN's issue of shipping it or Lowe's delivery system, but it took over 3 weeks to get the item. It is a specialty item and I knew that it would take at least 5-7 days for it to get to us. That did delay work for my contractor waiting for this pan to continue their work by a week. FYI-- all shower pans even standard ones you will have to order online, so make that in consideration when planning your remodel work.

It's not clear in the product description, but is comes with a fiberglass drain screen and a gasket ring to connect to the plumbing pipe underneath. The mfr instruction and internet blogs provide various guidance on installing tile walls over the edge of the Swan base. Framed studs to sides of base; don't think we left as much play as the instructions. We went with felt membrane that ran down and over the lip of the base, then cement board to top of base, then tile to over the lip of base, and finally silicone caulked edge. The Swan base was set to the floor with thin set to ensure firm contact.

If i could give this product 0 stars, I would. I had to order this shower base online because no stores in my area carried it. The closest was near Atlanta and I'm in central Florida. It cost $99 for delivery, which was crazy. There was no option to have it sent to my local store. When the item came today, I opened it up to check it. What I saw shocked me. On the smooth part of the bottom, to the left of the drain, there was a section about 4" long and 1 inch high that was embossed into the surface of the tub. This made it very noticeable because the texture was different than the rest of the tub. And in that section was the name of the manufacturer and a model number engraved into the tub. No pictures on the Home Depot site or the company site show this. I can't imagine why they would do this. But I sure wasn't going to spend all that money and a week redoing my bathroom and put this base in there.

Awesome Shower Base

Several years ago, we needed to handicap our master bathroom to make it wheelchair accessible. for various reasons I didn't want white, so when I came across the Swanstone shower base that fit exactly into the tub space that was removed and it came in a number of colors, I was overjoyed. The Bermuda Sand base looks amazing, still looks like new almost 10 years later, never slippery, doesn't show soap scum, easy to clean and is big enough to hold my wheelchair/me and my caregiver with room to move. Even after dropping the handheld many, many times, there's not a chip, mark or blemish. Now we are adding another shower room on the main level and of course we chose another Swanstone shower base. They are AWESOME.

We are very happy with the product. It looks great and fit perfectly. Upon delivery, however, we did notice the boxed was damaged. Inside the box, the plastic flange was missing as were the directions for installation. The drain was also damaged. Possibly a past return that was repackaged?

I recently install the Swan shower floor to replace an existing 48" shower pan. It is light weight, but sturdy. It is very important to have a level subfloor to support it evenly, otherwise it will flex after installation. I leveled my sub floor, and then mixed up mortar, and spread a 1/2" slurry on the subfloor before setting the Swan shower floor according to directions. The install was a success, and there is no flexing! The Swan shower floor meets my expectations, and I would recommend it to my friends. The cost is about the average cost for that size.

big disappointment

It took reordering this item to finally get it. Sorry I wasted my time. Not nearly as thick as I was expecting.Really not allot of difference from the cheap one they stock in the store. The shower base looks cheap for the cost. You see the outline of the underside support frame on floor or good side of base. I was looking for a solid white surface to accent the walls tiles. Sending it back not as advertised or described by store staff. Really disappointed.
