For a 6", ultra-thin LED Downlight that is dimmable and color-selectable (2700K, 3000K,3500K, 4000K, 5000K), this is a very good choice for the price point.

Halo is a great brand and I am always pleased with their products. The Halo LSB6 Series 6 in. 2700-5000K (selectable) integrated LED downlight is another great product. It comes with 3 different trims to match your décor. I am installing mine over my kitchen sink where my roof comes low and I have less than 6" clearance between the joists. I'm replacing a surface-mount light. The light brightness can be selected from 5 choices, but the switch is above the ceiling so it needs to be selected prior to installation. It comes with everything you need to install, including its own integrated J-box, and wiring just clips in, super-easy.

I love downright for areas that need light but I don't want a fixture taking up room. I ordered four different Halo downright this month to replace light fixtures. All four allow color changing. But there are differences so pick well.

In addition to being very easy to install, this eco-friendly Halo downlight comes with helpful graphic instructions and almost everything one needs for installation. It will replace a 6 inch canister downlight using the same wallboard hole and it has a junction box with push insert wiring which allows using the wiring from the existing junction container (if not a new installation). If this is a new installation a template to cut the wallboard hole is included with the instructions. Once the wiring is fished into place the included junction box allows for quick and easy placement to code. The variable intensity setting on the included junction box allows a five setting adjustment to suit the environment in which the light is used. Once the wiring is completed it is a simple matter of snapping the light into place. There is also a choice of two decorative surrounds for the light - black and brushed bronze. This light is also dimmable with an appropriate controller.

I got this light to replace older energy inefficient “high hats” as part of my DIY bathroom renovation. This fixture is designed for efficient, speedy installation and provides a nice bright light.

This Halo HLB6 is different from usual downlights sold at Home Depot. It is meant for new construction so the installation is different than the existing installation modification or replacement.

I installed 7 of these 6" lights yesterday. Replaced a cloud light in the center of the room which never lit the workspaces well. I put center of light 13" from cabinet face which avoids getting a shadow when working at the counter. A couple of the lights needed to be put in where there were joists, and these lights worked very will. Before purchasing I studied on-line reviews, compared reviews of Halo compared to Commercial Electric and Lithonia, and felt that the Halo was going to be the better quality light. The plastic wire strain reliefs weren't impressive but seem to hold the wire fairly well. I considered using Romex wire cable clamps but using the provided plastic strain reliefs was faster and worked well. The included wire connectors were super slick and much quicker than using wire nuts (and took less space). There really is only room for two wires going into the J-box even though the connectors can accommodate 3. Used a Lutron Dimmer Diva C-L (DVWCL-153PH) for 3 way (Dimming only at one switch) which works great. Adjusted dimmer low point as a couple of the lights did not come on when at the dimmest setting, but once adjusted all work well. Overall, very impressed with how easi this was to install, and very happy with how these look and the light output!

These are awesome. I just completed a project where I installed 16 of these led wafer can lights. It was kind of crazy because i initially installed a different brand, and i was having lots of issues with the lights flickering when i used the dimmer. I bit the bullet and pulled all of the led cans that i initially installed and then I installed these lights. I literally had no issues with flickering, and the clips are very sturdy and held the bezels tight to the ceiling. This was important because the other brand did fit snug on every light. The fact that you can change the color temperature on these lights is an absolutely super cool feature. I have not had the desire to do that yet as Im a old fashioned 3000K type of person, but if the feeling hits me one day, i have 4 other color options.

I like everything about this lighting option! The unit appears to be well made and well designed! In my specific application, I replaced an existing recessed "can" lighting fixture in a suspended ceiling. The disassembly of the old fixture took longer than the installation of this new unit. The instructions were as simple as the installation with no surprises! The ease of the included "push" electric connections and the mounting of the sleek light itself were effortless. Finally, the option to select the intensity/color range of the new light added a nice flexibility to the final install! I have recommended this product to friends already and I plan to replace other lights in my home with this unit.

We've used these lights a lot in our addition. Installation is a breeze. Just carefully cut the proper-sized hole in the sheetrock, fish out the wire, strip the ends and plug them into the pre-wired connectors inside the included junction box. The connectors can accept up to three wires, so you can send power off in two different directions from any light -- nice when you're doing a big room. Also nice is that the junction boxes are separate from the light itself, so you can do the wiring without having to hang on to a light in the process, then push the box out of the way and connect it to the light with a locking push connection. This means the box doesn't have to sit on top of the light, which allows for very low clearance. Even if you encounter a floor joist or run of strapping over the area where you want the light, as long as there's a little room to get the box wired and pushed out of the way, the light itself is only 1/2 inch thick, so it will mount up just fine. Two strong, spring-loaded clamps hold it firmly against the ceiling. Another really nice feature is they are color adjustable. There's a switch on the side of the box that lets you set the color to 2700, 3000, 3500, 4000, or 5000. They're dimmable, give off 1061 lumens at full power (75 watt equivalency) and consume 16 watts. I've seen similar, 60-watt-equivalent lights that consume just nine watts, but which need more overhead space and aren't color tunable. These Halo lights by Eaton are the only kind I'll buy now. One caveat, the rim that goes against the sheetrock on the room side is aout an eight-inch thick. So if the there's strong daylight coming in from windows you may see a little shadow which might make you think the light isn't hard against the ceiling. That goes away at night when the lights are on, however.
Great light for new or existing construction.
These are super easy to install once the wire is run. All you need is a 6" hole and they pop right in (Highly recommend just using a 6" hole saw. Not necessary, but quick and guarantees a perfect hole). You really don't even need to worry about where joists are because the clips can be worked around them and the control box is narrow enough to slide past. The included wire connector is nice and easy. You just strip and slide the wire in. The only thing they don't tell you is that you will need to buy a strain relief for the supply wire going into the control box as it is not included. The light itself is awesome as it is selectable and can really be used for whatever room or application you want. I have the 3 I purchased in the kitchen at 5000k and they supply more than enough light over the areas with no under cabinet lights and at the entrance. Couldn't be happier and at a great price too.

I was looking for a new light to install above my shower, and it would go into the attic, I had four primary requirements: IC-rated, wet location-rated, airtight and dimmable. This one seemed to fit the bill. It's easy to install, fairly bright, and the ability to select colors is a nice feature. However, it is NOT airtight. After installing, looking from the attic I can clearly see light coming through between the drywall ceiling and the fixture. (This was with the fixture turned off, so the light is not coming from the fixture itself). If light is coming through -- it's not airtight. The problem is really two-fold: the gasket is thin and firm, and the springs holding the light in place aren't that strong (in fact, they're actually pretty weak), so the fixture doesn't form a tight seal against the ceiling (and my drywall is perfectly smooth, so that's not the problem either).

We used this light kit to replace a fluorescent strip light in our garage. The installation of this was pretty easy because there was already wiring where we were going to place the light fixture. Because wiring was already there installation was similar to replacing a light fixture - where you just match the wires. The only difference was that we had to cut out a bit of the dry wall so we could drop in the wiring box and light. The directions pages included a template of the hole required which took the guess work out. The slim design worked great for where we wanted to install the light because it was a shallow space. A feature that I didn't notice until I received the light kit was that it is approved to be used as a shower light. Although we weren't installing in the shower - it was going above the sink and its water resistant feature was an added bonus.
